Weather may delay or change things. Wondering about Guam>Hawaii>Seattle options, (SPEC not spoiling...just me thinking.)

One of the things to consider that for almost all trans-Pacific flights to the U.S. from east Asia, one has to go through either Shanghai, or Tokyo Narita, or both, based on what teams and production have had to do in the past.
About the only way I'm aware of that avoids those connections is the Air New Zealand flight in and out of LAX that flies direct to New Zealand. Then there's the need for flights to divert around the volcanic ash from the volcano that has erupted in Indonesia (the ash has reached levels of the atmosphere that can force passenger flights to divert around that area) and as of this morning, Bali airport is closed again.
I suspect the filming is on hold until they can get teams to wherever leg 11 is going to take place as well as getting flights to the final destination city. If past experience is any guide with the need to connect via Shanghai or Tokyo as opposed to using New Zealand to get back to the US, that may explain the lack of any social media sightings at this point. This is just speculation on my part, but I am baffled to come up with any other explanation other than a delay in order to allow the weather systems to clear out of the way for the flights to leg 11 and leg 12 destinations.

What about Sydney or Seoul or even Manila ( Or is Manila affected by the typhoon )

Is there any location in Asia/Oceania that we can eliminate simply from all the natural disasters occurring (Volcanoes, typhoons, etc)?
dryedmangoez:
It's interesting how TAR25 teams had to fly through Tokyo from Manila to LA instead of flying direct on Philippine Airlines. Though that PAL flight was likely fully booked anyway lol They usually are.
I know they always have back-up plans, but if they ever need last minute Legs in Asia, they can easily recycle TARPH or TAR Vietnam Legs of course. But I hope the penultimate leg isn't in the Philippines. I'm hoping for the Philippines to be an early Leg(s) on a future westward route, maybe TAR28. :)
Anyway, Oceania seems like a good choice.
