TAR 27 - Pre-race Speculation: (No wishlists)

--- Quote from: Keepcopz on May 26, 2015, 09:34:02 PM ---- For Asia, I think Mongolia and South Korea would be nice choice. (Overdue since 10 and 17) And both countries can be access easily from China (Which I think might be visit this season). India/Sri Lanka + Maldives combo would be nice to see too. If they decide to visit South East Asia too, one leg in Burma or Laos would make sense as new country too. Or Brunei instead of repetitive Indonesia.
- Africa, likely to get skipped.
- South America, Chile and Peru is out. I think Brazil/Ecuador (Galapagos)/Bolivia/Uruguay would be cool since all of them were overdue. I think we might get 2-4 SA legs start this season though.
- Oceania, they NEED to visit other countries than NZ and Australia! I think we might get 1-2 legs, Fiji or Papau New Guinea would be nice choice.
- Europe, we got overload Europe for past couple seasons (Esp. 23-24-25) I think just 2-3 legs in Europe, 1 Scandinavian and 1-2 in Central Europe would be nice. Finland is SO overdue!
- North America, I'd like to see Trinidad-Tobago/Costa Rica/Bahamas as leg 1 or 11. But since they just do Virgin Island in 25, I think they might save it for other season.

I assume there would have a Midwest start in Chicago as it hasn't visited for a long time since season 6, with the LA (area) start already done many times. There could be an Easterly route (a la TAR12/14/16/17/20/23/25).
I think it would have a Central America visit for leg 1 and hasn't been for so long since TAR19. Costa Rica would be the first country to visit and its long overdue on its approximate location between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Guatemala would get a chance for its first visit and has long awaited to be overdue.
For Leg 2, the teams would travel to Europe across the Atlantic in Ireland and its also long overdue. The race has never visited the capital Dublin, with the Western part was last visited in TAR12. Beside with Ireland, the other one-time visited European countries going to visit are Finland (never have had a full leg before), Czech Republic, Belgium, Hungary and Greece. The new countries that have a chance for a first time visit: Bulgaria, Latvia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
As for Africa, it would skip the mainland but will have a chance to visit Cape Verde, a tropical island country which is similar to other island countries like Seychelles, Bora Bora and St. Thomas.
For Asia, South Korea would be a good choice for the penultimate leg as its overdue as well. Seoul would going to have a full leg like it did in international Races.
Platrium:
I have a feeling the start is at Los Angeles again. It is predictable after all.
For Leg 1, I'm gonna guess on China. It has been visited in TAR24, but they might start here first. My guess goes to China or a surprising continent. ;)
Leg 2? Predictably speaking, they might continue to another part of China.
For Leg 3, my guess goes to some part of Asia, maybe one leg only.
As for Leg 4, perhaps a 2-leg visit to Australia or New Zealand.
Leg 6, maybe a visit to India? India has not been visited since TAR20. (Am I right? ??? ) Then, maybe they'll extend another leg in India.
At this point, maybe they'll start with Europe for Leg 8. They'll probably move on to another country for Leg 9, then to another country for Leg 10.
By Leg 11, maybe, just maybe, they'll go down to Africa and have a penultimate there. An African penultimate has never happened, but predicting when it will happen is gonna be pretty hard.
Afterwards, maybe they'll have the final leg in... the city near Niagara Falls? I don't know, just thinking. ???
I also have a gut feeling that a switchback will come at least once this season. ??? If I got something correct from my route, I'd guess on Australia, China, or India.
Kamineko:
I somehow wish that they'll go to Cambodia and instructed to find Jeff Probst who's filming Survivor there, like TAR 16 did with finding Allan Wu. :luvya: ;D

I guess the race start at LA again. Otherwise we would have LA finish which is too soon to featured after TAR25 just having a LA finish.

Is a return to Hong Kong wishful thinking? There definitely are more stuff they can do here and the HK legs they’ve had so far in TAR2, 11 & 17 are so good (but umm this is prolly my biased opinion  ).
There hasn’t been a HK visit in 9 seasons and I am speculating that there will be a China visit in TAR27 as they seem to be doing it every 3 seasons now. They seem to distinguish HK from China (e.g. TAR10 Beijing vs TAR11 HK, TAR16 Shanghai vs TAR17 HK), so more likely than not if no HK this season but have China, then very likely HK in TAR28.
BUT with China developing and modernizing and becoming more like HK, very possible they’ll not make that distinction anymore.
I can foresee them having a HK leg and then going to somewhere in Guangdong though, like Shenzhen. So whether or not they distinguish HK from China, they can still do this route. I’d definitely like to see teams visit HK as the first leg city :hearts:
