Previously on The Amazing Race Latin America...

Six teams arrived to the "Sultana de los Andes", Riobamba.

Open a mailbox challenged their luck. Place a TV antenna tested their concentration and agility. An imposing canyon was the star of the RB. Skills and strengh were essential on the Detour.

Argentineans Javi & Nico claimed their second victory. To Mexicans Juan & Ceci luck was on their side again.

Tonight the remaining teams will travel to the "Athens of Ecuador". They'll have to be precise, use all their artistic skills and become the stars of the show to continue on the race.

Intro.

Known as the most distant point to the center of Earth, the Chimborazo volcano welcomed the teams on the 6th PS of the race.

Javier & Nico depart in 1st. place.
RI: Make your way on taxi to the Riobamba Bus Terninal. Once there, travel on bus to the city of Cuenca; then make your way on taxi to the San Blas Park and find a Claro tablet with the next clue. You have 110usd for this leg of the race.
They think they will travel on the same bus with Christian & Dina and Jenny & Martin.

The Ecuadorian friends in 2nd place. She wants to catch up friends to travel together and then trick everybody to leave first the bus. She says "Soy el diablo" (I'm the devil).

Bros-in-law start in third position.

Nico & Javier at the bus stations. Their bus departs at 11.00am. When Christian & Dina arrive there, they're informed that there's only 15 minutes till the bus leaves.

Jenny & Martin depart in 4th place. At the same time, JC & Gio reach the terminal and while looking for the ticket office the other two teams board the bus. They manage to catch the bus too; so the first bus depart with 3 teams on it.

Colombian couple arrives to the terminal right after the 11 am bus has left. In confessional they say that they were detained by a police officer asking then some data. They rid of him quickly, but when they reach the ticket office the seller informed that the bus left five minutes ago; however, he tells the driver to stop close to the terminal to wait for them. Jenny & Martin pick a cab and run to the bus. They talk about the instructions of the RI. Finally they see a bus waiting, but when they're about to jump in, the driver says that his destiny is Guayaquil. So they decided back to the terminal to board the next bus. They also expect not to be penalized.

Chilean married couple depart in fifth position.

While travelling back, Jenny & Martin see the right bus going the opposite direction, and tell the cab driver to pursuit it. They follow it a little while and the cabbie stops ahead of the bus, make it slow down while Jenny steps in front to stop it. So they finally board the bus with the other three teams.
When teams see them, Nico says "I can't believe it!". Martin explains what happened, while Dina & Christian faces aren't precisely showing happiness. Martin says if the penalty comes, it would fine, if not, it would great.

Juan & Ceci depart in last place.

At the bus terminal, Stefa & Felipe know that the next bus leaves at 12.00pm. So they have to wait one hour. When father and daughter appear, they move trying to hide from them. Both ended in the same bus.

First bus arrive to Cuenca.

As always, Jaime presents the city: Called the "Athens of Ecuador", arts and sciences metropolis, the city of Cuenca hosts a great cultural diversity and a preserved colonial architecture; and receives the six teams that still stay on the competence.

All teams run to the taxis and go to the park. Jenny & Martin leading the pack at the Route Marker.
RI: Find people on the street and persuade them to weight in until reach 1.000 pounds or 450 kg. Once done, they will receive the next clue.

Bros-in-law second to arrive with Nico & Javier right behind them. Christian & Dina last of the group to get there.
And the madness start trying to find people.
When colombian couple ask for persons to weight in, they quickly assemble a line of 15.
Basically the tactic here was to gather anyone around the park and bring them to the scale location and start weighing.

On travel to Cuenca, Juan & Ceci have problems because they're boarded the bus without an assigned seat, so they must change places as the bus starts to complete.

JC & Gio firsts to complete the task.
RI: make their way on taxi to the Oro Verde Hotel and sign up at the registration book. Signing times will establish departing order the next day.

Colombian couple second completing task; but are the first to find a cab.
Javi & Nico in third place; and they also get a cab before bros-in-law!
JC & Gio start to argue.

Back to the race.

Bros-in-law argue because they didn't see the cab the Argentineans boarded.
Meanwhile, Christian & Dina finish the task.
Finally, JC & Gio find a taxi. Gio talks about the difficulty of finding a cab in Cuenca on a Sunday evening.

Colombian couple first at the Hotel, but their driver don't stop in front as they asked him and go to a near roundabout to let them on the other side.
Argentinean friends register first at 4.59pm.
Bros-in-law cabbie also surpass the hotel entrance, but they make him stop and cross the street. They check in second at 5.00pm.
Colombian couple (after

to the driver) register in third at 5.01pm; and Ecuador friends in 4th at 5.10pm.

The second bus arrives, and the two remaining teams race to the route marker.
Chileans find the tablet in 5th and Mexicans in last place. They start to collect people to complete the task.
Father and daughter end the task in 5th place and jumps into a cab. Married couple are the last to complete the task. They argue about where to find a cab, losing time.
Juan & Ceci register at 7.09pm and Stefa & Felipe at 7.17pm.

Next morning at the hotel. Javi & Nico pick the next clue from a desk. It's a Detour.

In this Detour, chosing between FLOWERS and MURAL will allow them to demonstrate their artistic skills.
FLOWERS: teams must travel by taxi to the "Plaza de las Flores" to do a floral arrangement as the same of the reference.
MURAL: teams must travel on taxi to the "Plaza del Otorongo" to paint a mural as the same they have as a sample.
Two additional notes:
1. "If you change sides, you must travel on foot from one location to the other"
2. CAUTION, BLIND U-TURN IS COMING.

Javi & Nico choose to to Mural. The same election do JC & Gio.

Funny thing, the bros-in-law recalling every thing they did until that moment that they never did previously in their lives, so they can bring out their inner artists.

Colombian couple opt by doing Flowers. Talking in the taxi about the upcoming U-Turn, Martin says that they will use it on Christian & Dina, if they have the chance, and regrets not having a marker to write "Cordially yours, with love, the Caribbean shark"

Ecuador friends also choose to do Flowers. Dina feels that it's going to be a great day for them.

Nico & Javier arrive to Mural. Minutes later do it JC & Gio.
Jenny & Martin reach the location of Flower. They start to work on the arrangement calmly until they see coming Christian & Dina.

At the hotel, Juan & Ceci choose Mural. The same as Chilean couple.
Felipe says in the cab that being returned by Mexicans would be part of the game, but that if they surpass Juan & Ceci and arrive first to the U-Turn, they will use it on them without hesitation.

In both Detour, the two teams on them are working fast to complete them.
In Flower, both arrangements are not good according to the judge. When Dina ask her what's wrong, she says "it's horrible"

On Mural, both teams have almost three quarters of the job done.

At the other Detour, people recognized Dina and started to cheer for her and put pressure on the judge to approve their arrangement. And when Colombian couple calls the judge to see their work, the wind throws everything to the floor. They fix everything, and again when the judge go to see it, the wind throw it for the second time; so they have to start from scratch. That allow the Ecuadorean friends to finish the detour on first place.

RI: travel on taxi to the "Parque de la Madre" and look for a CNT tablet with the next clue. (And allow me to add: BLIND U-TURN AHEAD).

Martín & Jenny complains with the judge cause she says that their bouquet is "destroyed".

The race continues...

Martin says that the situation is unfair, that they have spent 1 hour. But they have no option but stat doing it again.

In Mural, Argentineans says that they were too meticolous so they lost time. They call the judge and are ok.
Juan & Ceci arrive there while JC & Gio are still painting! JC says that an artist can't be limited by time...

Christian & Dina arrive to the U-Turn. Toya says that any team can use it to make another team perform the other side of the Detour; but they bypass it telling that they can't use it

... so they pick the tablet with the clue.
RI: make their way on taxi to the Circo Social.
(Note: that's where the SB is located).

Only after Jenny starts to crumble, the judge on Flower gives her approval to their arrangement.

Nico & Javier opt by not U-Turn anyone.

Ecuadorean couple reach the Circo and find the Route Marker:
RB: WHO'S READY FOR THE SHOW?
Who performs this RB should demonstrate acrobatic skills. Team member must climb the acrobatic cloth and do four figures: the house, the bed, the star and the box. If it's done correctly, racer will receive the next clue.

Christian says "China, you're ready for the show, you're a circus girl". Then he also explain that she's an olimpyc gymnast, so she must do it well.

At Mural, Chilean couple arrives and start to work on painting. Wow, JC & Gio just finished and call the judge, who approves their job.

In the park, Colombian couple don't use the U-Turn, getting the next clue.

Meanwhile Dina is done with the four figures and have completed the RB.
RI: Make your way on taxi to the "Minas de Pumapungo", the PS of this leg of the race. The last team to check in there, may be eliminated.
Note: before start walking to the PS, they must active their Samsung Gear in the chronometer mode.

Argentiean friends arrive to the Circus, and Nico is going to perform the RB. He's tired, so he's struggling a little with the figures.

Back at the park, Bros-in-law also choose not to use the U-Turn.

On the RB, Martín will do the RB. They enter the tent when Nico is finishing the challenge. Friends get their next clue.

On the PS, Christian & Dina activate their chronometer and starts climbing through the path to the top. It took them 3 minutes and 15 second to reach the mat. Once there, Toya ask them why they didn't use the U-Turn, and they answer that they couldn't do it, so Toya let them know that, as it was Blind, they could use it too. Dina says "How dumb, Christian!, how dumb we were!" Christian also tells that they intended to use it on Stefa & Felipe but as they thought it couldn't...
Anyway, they're team number one, winning 2 tablets Samsung courtesy of Claro. Jaime also says that there's something more: the leg's not over, and here's your next clue.

At the Detour, Juan & Ceci call the judge..., and the work is fine; but Stefa & Felipe works full throttle and almost immedialtely also call the judge. And it's a taxi race to the Parque de la Madre and the U-Turn.

On the RB, Martín is done, receiving the following clue. JC & Gio arrives at the circus, and Gio will execute the figures.

Chileans and Mexicans are separated by seconds only going to the park. But at some point their driver take different ways. Chilean cabbie says it's a shorcut; but father and daughter driver left them right in front of the board, while married couple is left at a different side of the park, so they have to ask for directions.

Of course, as a matter of survival, Juan & Ceci U-Turn Stefa & Felipe.

When Chilean couple finally are at the board, they find their picture on it and must go to the other Detour. The beeps don't allow to listen the insults from them.

And we're back...

Stefa & Felipe reach the board and see their pic on it; so they should perform the other detour. They're pissed, saying Mexicans played dirty. In the taxi they discuss about who U-Turn them. Stefa says Christian & Dina, Felipe puts the blame of Juan & Ceci. He says that you can't know the people racing with you, and that they behaviour is to backstab the people to previously helped you, it's up to them. She says they will catch them at the SB.

On the circus, with the support of the people there, Gio (who calls himself the Iron Man because he can't twist) finish the RB, while JC make joke after joke about his performance.

Nico & Javier check with Toya and Jaime - spending 3.27 minutes - as the team number two.

On the circus, father and daughter find the SB:
Juan & Ceci must pick the bakcpacks awaiting there, carry them to the Parque Inclusivo from the Centro Cultural Circo Social and donate them. Once they have done it, they can continue with the race.

Meanwile Chilean couple start doing Flowers.

On the PS, Jenny & Martin are the third team to arrive; however, they have to complete a 30 minutes penalty. Martín says they were expecting it.

Father & daughter arrive to the park, and distribute the backpacks. Say it was priceless the smiles on the faces of the kids, and return to the circus.

Stefa & Felipe are still assembling the bouquet.

Bros-in-law reach the PS in fourth place (3.50 minutes was their time), but as a team was penalized, they're officially the team number three.

Juan & Ceci are back at the RB location. He choose to do it. And again he struggles with the task.

At Flowers, Chileans get approval and run again to the Parque de la Madre.

In the Pit Stop, time is up for Jenny & Martín. Of course they're in 4th place and recieve the next clue.

On the RB, Juan isn't able to do the first figure, and ends on the floor. Ceci encourages him to do it. To forget about the pain.

The race is back...

Juan struggles at the RB. He changes the cloth and finally completes the first figure!
While doing the second succesfully, Chileans arrive again at the U-Turn and the next route marker.

And Juan is done! Father & daughter receive the next clue and head to the PS.

Stefa performs the RB. She completes the figures and get the clue.

Juan & Ceci check in 5th place. Toya ask them about U-Turn the people who helped them. Ceci says that they are their friends, but this is a competence and it was us or them. So as long as is legal, we're going to do it.

Stefa & Felipe arrive to the mat. They're asked about who they believe used the U-Turn on them, and Felipe says the mexicans. Toya says if they are surprised, and they answer affirmative, that it was a treason, that when they were lying on the ground the helped them recover with the EP and he thinks they shouldn't have been this way.

They're eliminated from the race. And in the cofessional, they're really pissed with the mexicans. They don't even want to shake hands with them when they're saying good-bye to the teams.

They say their biggest prize is that they're a stronger matrimony now.

Teams are rowing. Jenny & Martin are bickering on a beach. Somebody have a misstep. They race in boats. And dive.

That was an outstanding episode. I wished more were like this.

Felt bad for the Chileans since they originally saved Juan and Ceci, but it's a race.

I liked how Dina all but dragged that one guy out of his car during the weighing task.

Great episode! My favorite one so far.

I don't think it was wrong of Ceci & Juan , i actually felt amazed with this move , they finally came out to play the game! I was actually very proud of them for this move.

1 - Saves their asses since they still had the SB and the RB to complete and Stefa/Felipe could pass them up.
2 - Eliminate the strongest team on the game.

It's anyone's game now. But i have a gut feeling for Javier & Nicolas of course.

I wonder if the rule that disallowed teams to Yield or U-Turn a team if they could see each other was still in force at that moment (e.g. Leg 10 of TARLA1). It would have created a really akward moment had Stefa & Felipe caught up with Juan & Cecy at the U-Turn sign...
