Previously on The Amazing Race Latin America...

7 teams travel to the Ecuadorian rainforest. A lot of virtues were required to overcame the challenges of the leg. Chilean couple keep the leading. Colombian friends were eliminated.

Today the race moves to the Sultana de los Andes.

Intro.

[Alenaveda]

Stefa & Felipe depart first.

RI: travel by bus to Riobamba. Then make their way to the office of the Correo del Ecuador. 60 dollars for this leg of the leg.

Dina & Christian want to crush the chilean couple. And their taxi surpass them.

At the terminal both teams look for the ticket. Bus depart at 3.30pm. That allow Nico & Javi to catch them. Three  teams on that bus, while Juan & Ceci arrive to the terminal. They try to board the same bus, and they do it!

Jenny & Martin and JC & Gio on the bus that depart at 5.30pm. They all try to find some kind of connection, but they failed to do it.

Jaime presents Riobamba as a cultural city.

All teams of the first bus arrive and jump into taxis. At the same time the second bus leaves the terminal.

Post office works until 5pm and opens at 10.30am. All bunched. Bottom teams are happy, really happy.

Next morning and all teams are there.

RI: Look for a key inside the Post Office and open the mail boxs until find a Samsumg Galaxy with the next clue.

Dina & Christian find the phone first.
RI: make they way on taxi to the Sector Cordillera of the Chimborazo community.

Stefa and Felipe get the phone in second place. Nico & Javi in third place. All get their cabs.

JC & Gio end the task in fourth. Jenny & Martin in 5th. Juan & Ceci can't find and thinks on dessist.

Felipe says that all teams realize that Dina & Christian play unfair. Martin says that they're going to be the target at the U-Turn.

Ecuadorian couple first at the next route marker.
RI: Search on the Chimborazo community for the market houses and place a TC antenna on them. Once done, they'll receive the next clue.

Stefa & Felipe second. JC & Gio in third.

At the post office, father & daughter finally find the phone.

Nico & Javier are the fourth to do the task. Javier says that his dad works on electronics, so if he can't do this he can't return home.

Martin & Jenny arrive in fifth and find a house, but don't have the implements to do it. They forget to pick them. They did a quick search and locate them.

Christian & Dina finish the task in first place.
RI: make their way on taxi to the Chorrera Alta.

Juan & Ceci catch the rest of the pack. At the same time, Nico & Javi finish the task in second place.

Rest of the teams are struggling a little with the task. Big problem is to place correctly the antenna and get a good image.

Jenny & Martin are the third to complete the task; and JC & Gio do it in fourth.
Stefa & Felipe see all teams leaving. She thinks they're last.

Unless the phone clocks were deliberately set wrong, Ceci & Juan left the post office at 11:15, half an hour later than Martin & Jenny (the second-to-last team at that moment, who left at 10:43)

Back to the race...

Stefa thinks they're in last.

Chorrera Alta:
RB: Who likes geology? Rappel down 60 meters at a canyon to get the next clue. Partner must follow a marked path until the bottom and wave a flag to start their partner descend.

Christian and Javier does the RB. On the way to the bottom, Nico surpass Dina. Javier has trouble doing the descend.

Chilean couple and daughter and father end the ARM in 5th and 6th.

Christian and Javier at the bottom of the canyon and get a flag and have to meet their partner. Argentinina friends in first.

RI: travel on taxi to the parking of the Chimborazo Lodge Marco Cruz.

Jenny does the RB; so does JC.

At the Lodge is a Detour:

Two ancient task.
ICEMAN: go to the ice station and carry one of the traditional "Chimborazo ice blocks" to a nearby farm.
MULETEER: go to the pen and get two llamas and retrieve them to the muleteer.

Ecuador couple and argentinean friends choose ICEMAN.

At the RB, Jenny has problems with the rope. She must be assisted to finish the descending. They lost their advantage with the ecuadorians bro-in-law.

Stefa & Felipe arrive at the detour. Minutes later Mexico arrives. Felipe and Juan perform the RB.

Colombian couple end the RB in fourth.

Nico & Javier end the Detour in first.
RI: travel on taxi to the "Reserva de protección de fauna del Monte Chimborazo" the PS of this leg of the race. The last team to arrive may be elliminated.

Chilean couple end RB in 5th.

At the lodge, JC & Gio choose Muleteer.

Dina & Christian complete Detour in 2nd. place.

Jenny & Martin also choose Muleteer. But ecuadorian bro-in-law switch to Iceman because can guide the animals.

Stefa & Felipe choose Muleteer too. Wow, Colombian couple also decide to switch sides after they can't manage their animal.

Nico & Javier arrive to the PS. They're team number one! They won a tablet Samsung each, courtesy of Claro.

Dina & Christian check in second place. They're afraid of being U-Turned by Stefa & Felipe so they must end ahead of them.

JC & Gio finish detour third and travel to the PS.

Stefa & Felipe have the same kind of problems. Jenny & Martin, who ends in fourth the detour tell them to change to Iceman.
Juan & Ceci opt by Muleteer, despite listening the recommendation made to the chilean couple.

On the route, Stefa has problems carrying the ice block.

Commercial.

The race continues...

Stefa have problems carrying the ice blocks. Felipe tells her to slow down and keep going.
Juan & Ceci are having the same troubles than all the previous teams, so they finally change to Iceman.

JC & Gio arrive in third place. They say that having experience with horses and cows they could overcame the llama detour but it wasn't the case.

Jenny & Martin check in 4th place. They say they bicker a lot but that is their way. Of course Martin does his classic singing celebration at the mat.

On Iceman, Stefa & Felipe end the detour in 5th place. Juan & Ceci finish in last place.

Chilean couple step into the mat in fifth place. Felipe says that bad luck and the height played their part on their little downfall.

Father and daughter are the last team to arrive. Ceci recalls the difficulties they had at the post office. And this leg is... NEL!  .
Juan says that it wasn't a good leg, but luck was on their side again.

Why do the teams dislike Dina & Christian? They seem kinda of aggressive but not to extreme. I'm glad Juan and Cecilia are still in it. Jenny and Martin started out like the "always fighting couple" but now seem quite likable.

It's all about the first U-Turn. From that moment all the other teams started to say that they are playing dirty.
