I saw the cops promo before Deal or no deal. (yes i watch deal or no deal) and and during Australia's Got Talant.

7 has revealed that they’re introducing two new twists.

- Must vote U-turn: The teams must all vote for one other team, the team that receives the most votes must complete a U-turn. Who voted for whom is revealed to the teams. This twist was also used in the second Israeli season, and appeared in most legs.

- Salvage pass: A never before seen twist. Will supposedly ‘shake up the first leg’. I’m assuming it will be awarded to the winners of the first leg instead of an express pass.

This salvage pass thing is said to shake up the first leg of the race, right?

Salvage means to 'retrieve or save something from loss or destruction'...At first I'm thinking, this has something to do with saving a team from being eliminated... But then i remembered that it only shakes up the first leg.

Then there were reports that there was 12 teams, but one was eliminated at the starting line, which is obviously in the first leg...

My theory/question here is, are the 2 linked?

I think that the twelve team rumour has been debunked, and only came about due to TVNZ's mix up. Since we've been shown eleven teams standing at the starting line, I think it's unlikely that there is a twelfth unknown team still.

Regarding the salvage pass, the line about it shaking up the first leg sounds like it's nothing more than 7's hype. I think the 'shake up' will simply be that the winners of the first leg receive it, yet will be able to play it later. I too think it may be that it can be used to avoid elimination despite finishing last up until a particular leg (~ final 5ish). The only other thing I can think it may do is allow a team to skip a U-turn, but in that case; I think they may have given it a different name.

The promo of the workmates - Paul & Steve - aired again during TAR tonight. If you notice in those caps towards the end of it, you can see that one of them is driving the car and the other teammate is seated at the back, with a non-racer sitting beside them. And there's also Kym driving and Donna sitting at the back with a non-racer in the front-passenger seat.

Based on this, I would speculate that we might have a Roadblock task in India which somewhat resembles the Roadblock from TAR10 in Chennai, where teams had to obtain their Indian driver's license.

Just my speculation, and I came to that conclusion because of the fact that they are driving with a non-racer (presumably a driving instructor) sitting beside them.

Yes racer, that's definitely a driving license test, you can clearly see in Steve and Paul promo caps SP-11, there is a driving school details attached on top of the car... (Typical driving school car)
