Just my thoughts on the performances!
Lauren Alaina - I thought that it was a cool, solid performance, but it did not impress me. It felt pretty laidback and just good, but now is not the time to just be good.
Casey Abrams - He wowed me with his vocals and passion through his singing. I'm not a fan of his, but he has a great, raspy voice and a great fanbase.
Ashthon Jones - I love that song and I thought that she sang it quite well but once again, it wasn't impressive.
Paul McDonald - I thought that the performance was pretty forgettable. All I can remember are his moves. There's something I love about this guy but this time, his moves on stage made me feel a little weird. And I really can't remember the song at all. Which doesn't bode well.
Pia Toscano - I would put her in the ranks of Melinda DooLittle, Danny Gokey, David Archuleta, all of whom peaked too early. With two stellar performances so far, I don't think that she'll be able to top them week after week. I hope she goes far, but I won't see her winning.
James Durbin - That was a solid performance yet again. Like the judges, I loved it when he did the falsetto! I hope he doesn't scream his way through but try to show America something different every week. And it's weird, but of all the songs tonight, his single would be one of the very few that I'd bother to listen to.
Haley Reinhart - I'm with Randy here, it was sleepy and forgettable. Not good on the first night of the finals. =(
Jacob Lusk - I actually thought that the song did not really suit him. No doubt his passion came through and he once again impressed with his vocals. He reminds me of Mike Lynch of last season.
Thia Megia - Another forgettable performance, and I personally think she's in great danger of going home tonight. =(
Stefano Langone - He rocked the stage, but because it isn't a genre of music that I particularly like, I'll be biased and say that I probably did not enjoy it as much as the judges did. I hope he's safe though 'cos I'm a huge fan of his!
Karen Rodriguez - I was pretty disappointed with her performance tonight, after she performed so well last week. Another one in danger of going home, I feel.
Scotty McCreery - I like it that he's starting to loosen up on stage. I still do not see why he's so popular, he's just alright to me. He reminds me of last season's Aaron Kelly, someone who'd deliver good, nice performances every week and go relatively far into the competition.
Naima Adepapo - I wonder why she chose the song she did but pitchiness aside, I actually enjoyed her performance. I love her dance moves! Seeing that she was the last person to perform, she should be safe tonight, hmm.
So that's it. I must say that it's gonna be a tough vote tonight. For me, Casey, Pia and Jacob's performances won the night. And as it stands right now, I feel that Thia, Karen and Haley/Ashthon might be in trouble tonight, with either Thia or Karen going home. I hate to see any of them go, but my guess is that a girl goes home tonight. The guys really delivered tonight, maybe with the exception of Paul, but he has a huge fanbase so it doesn't really matter. Geez.
