Just a note for everyone....Samba Schools are not schools......the are private social clubs similiar to country clubs in the US. They hold dances on certain nights of the week for their members. From late Nov/Dec to Feb/March, whenever Carnaval is, they are usually open to the public. Carnaval is the Spanish/Portugues equilivent to French Mardi Gras......the pre-Lenten festival.
The main colors on the costumes in that screencap, to me, are red and yellow/gold. The main Niteroi Samba School, Unidos do Viradouro. Its address is: Avenue of the Contour, l6 - Barreto – Niterói. The schools colors are blue and rose.
There are many schools......the top 12 get to dance in the Sambadrome every year. None of the top 12 this year use red and yellow/gold. The schools that dance in the Sambadrome might have between 3,000 and 5,000 dancers. They do sell spots to tourists that want to come down and dance with them.
I suspect that they were going to use Mangueira in TAR2. It is probably the most famous for tourists. Mangueria is open to tourists year round. I think the word got out and a huge crowd was expected, so Production switched to a smaller, less well known school.
