Vague rumors of another channel being interested...so there is some hope!

Of the teams that finished second-to-last and last on the first leg, how many have gone on to win the season?

The only one I could find was the Linz Family.

The Save from the previous season returned for this season [TAR 26] but was unaired, unclaimed, and unused. It could be obtained during the 3rd Leg of the race by completing both sides of the detour. [citation needed]
--Wikipedia

Is there any validity to this that we have found? It sounds reasonable, at the very least...

Yes but I can't find where we talked about it. I believe it came from a post elim Interview but I do not remember, but it is in spoilers somewhere..

There was a Save in Leg 3 Phuket. You had to do both sides of the Detour.

But remember NO one including the Olympians managed to complete the wakeboarding, so that was a bust....

Thanks oval...I couldn't find it.  :spy:

It is totally confirmed though, but don't think "beacause peach said so" will work for wiki.   :funny:

Did someone say so, and they can't be identified because of contractual or non-disclosure reasons? I'm not saying you're wrong, but it did come a little out of nowhere in the thread :3

Google Earth indicates that they are a restaurant and hotel, but their website is broken.

Is there any TAR wiki that specifies which batch (flights, trains, buses) has which teams?
For example, TAR22's 1st leg has the following on the 1st flight:
1.) Chuck & Wynona
2.) Idries & Jamil
3.) Pam & Winnie
4.) Dave & Connor
5.) Jessica & John

Wikipedia only specifies the final placements and penalties of teams, so I might need those information for more What-ifs on the What-ifs Thread. :grins: Thanks in advance! :)

I specify this in all my racing reports, which I have done since season 17. They should be available in the archives of this site.

Those are also covered in the "task-by-task" placement tables at the bottom of "Leg" pages on our wiki, although at present only Seasons 1-11, 21 and Asia 1 are covered. More will come, tho!

Would the TAR production crew ever allow for a new leg to begin without all the teams having checked in at the previous pitstop again  ??? ? I don't mean like with KOR, but like in All Stars, where Dustin & Kandice started out the second leg in Poland, before Team Guido and Eric & Danielle completed the first one.

Personally, I don't think we will ever see this again  :(. Mostly because I don't think such a situation would ever accure again, but what do people think? Would they expand the rest time for the teams in front or decrease it for the teams in the back, so that they would make their flights?

Maybe if they are staying in the same country and there is a considerable difference between front of the pack and back of the pack. But I'm assuming that with the years this proved to be just difficult production wise. I think that's why we see more and more Route Markers with Hours of Operation. If there was just one team on the back I'm sure Phil would be there to eliminate them ASAP. See Leg 1 of Season 27, the last team was in the same area of the pitstop finishing the last task but production needed to move on so Phil walked back to eliminate them.

Now my question that might actually need it's own thread.
Would The Amazing Race benefit itself of having only 10 teams instead of 11?

That was season 8 and led to more NELs and not fewer. Too many NELs tend to take the frantic energy out of NEL legs.
