23 (dear god make it stop)! 5 Points - Is the greeter on Phil's right side?

At first I thought Left (when we first see her, but the shot is reversed), its the right, and how she is shown when she is actually greeting

NAGGING POINTS HERE I COME!

Since the question only asked whether greeter's on Phil's right side or not, and that the greeter appeared on both the left and right side of Phil.... mswood... decide on an answer!

I saw this strange sight too, Joab, but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! Why did the greeter switch sides like that?!

Phil and the greeter actually just turned around for the second image.  Notice the pagoda is now in the back and the satellite dishes are facing away.  And they are still standing at the back of the mat, just facing the other way.

I've just had another look, and I completely agree with Chill here.

If you look very closely in the picture where the greeter is on Phil's left, you'll notice the mat is upside down.

That's definitely it. Now which one is going to be the correct answer?

That's definitely it. Now which one is going to be the correct answer?

You would have to imagine that it would be the one that occured when they were standing facing the right way.

Teams always come into Phil with Antarctica at the end furthest from Phil, also the little TV thing with the current location on it is always behind him. In the shot with the greeter on Phil's left, the TV appears in front of Phil from that angle.

All this points to the greeter being on Phil's right hand side.

I know, but they turned around and that is why the greeter is on Phil's other side as with what's shown in the shot?! It's a matter of perspective.. so let's see what mswood do with this! I'm fine with anything, just love to give mswood a run for her money (questions)! :neener:

The correct answer should be Phil's right side.

The "costumed person beside Phil" is only a "greeter" when they are actively greeting the teams. At other times, as when they are doing standups etc with Phil they are "posers" or "ancillary costumed talent".  B:)

I agree with WP.  Semantically, that person is only a greeter while greeting, and in that case is always shown on Phil's right side (In this episode.  Thanks, Joab, for pointing that out).

Actually, for the first two episodes this season (in fact last leg too?) i think, the greeter has been on Phil's left side.

They probably decide which side of Phil the greeter stands, by the particular background they want in the angle shot. In Sydney, it was the long stretch of beach, in Broken Hill it was the mine apparatus.

But that isn't from the episode.  Nor does it show proof.  Like a reference.  I do believe its accurate, but that's just taking the posting of a member.  I had to go to press materials to verify that.  Just as I used Kynt in typing for the questions until we saw int he episodes that the producers did indeed go with Kent.

Just like I don't take answers from the Mat Chats, of from sources that point out legitimate errors from the broadcast.

Even in this episode we clearly see Luke getting to the cluebox first to get the Roadblock clue, but since the episode doesn't show that, I have to score Gary & Mallory who are shown with the clue next, even though its very likely by the running footage that they weren't even second.

But before we see Gary and Mallory reading the roadblock clue, we see both the Cowboys and Globetrotters actually opening the clue.  We must assume that once they open the clue they read it.  So if we don't  actually see Luke and Margie opening the clue, can't we assume that the Cowboys and Globetrotters get the road block clue before Gary and Mallory.  I don't think it is clear who gets it first; Luke and Margie, Jet and Cord, Flight Time and Big Easeyh or Gary and Mallory so I would think we can't give points to anyone, or 15 points to each of the four. And besides no on-screen positions for any team are given at this time.

I think the editors are really getting lazier...? There's no subtitle position for the Yak riding cluebox as well.. even though Jaime and Cara were the first to it and it was darn obvious?! (:;)

If a team chooses to do the doll detour, then gets U-Turned, that counts as choosing to do it, correct?

Doing the U-Turn side of a detour wouldn't be the team's choice (well unless they are stupid).  So that wouldn't count.  But if thats the side they do before getting U-Turn then it does count.

And even if a team starts one and then changes their mind that would also count as that is their choice.
