Exactly. Why would Canaan be in a swim suit as well (or even at the top) if he didn't have to do it himself?

I think the water slide is a task teams have to perform in order to check in at the mat. It seems to be very much like the "swim the length of the pool" task just before reaching the mat in the Sri Lanka leg of TAR 6, even more than the "lead the tourists" task in the first ;eg this season.

It's the worst possible thing for Mika:
a.) it's not a roadblock, so she can't opt out and have Canaan do it
b.) it's not a detour, so they can't just choose a different task
c.) it's a perfect little mix of a couple of her greatest fears
all those letters together spell D-O-N-E in my book...

Exactly, the only way that is a detour is if the other option is to bungee of the Burj...LOL

Or even better...
Mika tells Canaan to go find Able and she rides off into the sunset on the boat with those gold guys.
