In the interest of not ruling anything out...

Gary/Matt (pink hair/father-son) do not have checked luggage tags on their backpacks. The biggest problem with them is that they're in the same place as Herb/Nate (Globetrotters), who do have tags on their backpacks.

Also, in terms of carry-ons being tagged on international flights, has it been completely ruled out that teams could have flown in via Toronto?

In the interest of not ruling anything, the father/son team was in and out of the area a good ten minutes before the globetrotters showed up.  People on walkies were in the area, could have easily directed globetrotters in.  Father/son just seemed way too intense to be a decoy team.  Given it was Vegas, Im putting my money on them being in.  Do we have any info on if they did get out, where it would have been?

If they were eliminated, it would almost certainly have been in Czech Rep., because that is where we saw them last.  However, they could have even been decoys at that point, being eliminated in the previous leg in Estonia.

woden, I can only answer that from my own perspective. Here are the nonstop flights from Toronto to Las Vegas on the morning of August 7:

US160 0850 1026
AC591 (codeshare UA8417) 0935 1115
WS 918 0830 1016

That's a lot of flights and probably influences Chateau's public statements that Toronto was viable. It still is, but there is the major problem of "how do you get there?".

The issue has never the ability to get from YYZ to LAS. The issue has been the connecting flight to get from a major European airport to Toronto in the correct time frame to connect with any of the above, meaning arrival before 7am. The same-day answer is the null set. I have checked LHR, LGW, CDG, PRG itself, AMS, CPH, ZRH, FRA, DUS, MUC, FCO and VIE, which include the 10 largest airports in Europe because Moscow splits traffic to 3 airports). I get a total of 28 nonstop daily flights from those airports to Toronto, but not a single one gets there within 12 hours of the right time frame. All flights land in the afternoon or early evening. This is not surprising if you think about it.

Flights from any European city to Toronto are into the jet stream and almost 4 hours more than the 6 hour time difference (except for LHR and LGW at a 5 hour time difference). When do flights typically leave from Europe for the U.S. or Canada? Not in the middle of the night, that's for sure because they would land very early in the morning. They do not leave until mid-morning, so by definition they will arrive after noon. Flights tend to stop departing for U.S./Canada late afternoon for evening arrival. So nobody should be surprised that there is on reasonable way to use Toronto as a connecting point. The existence of a nonstop from Prague is interesting, But OK102 is 1115 1430, way late for the right connections and way to arrive a day early to hide out and wait for them.

^^^What he said.
I was watching the arrival area at YYZ for OK102 on August 6th and did not see any teams or production. Then, I was camped out at YYZ watching the check-in for US160,  AC591 and WS 918 - on the guess that the teams had arrived on Aug 6 in the afternoon from other Prague/Europe flights and had checked into the airport hotel overnight to get the early flights to LV. I saw nothing - so unless the teams camped out for 12 hours in the departure area (unlikely) they were not on those flights.

And - they don't tag carry-on baggage on flights from YYZ to the USA.

From there to here, and here to there,
funny things are everywhere

:funny:  ...it's possible they required them to check their backpacks on a full flight... maybe...  :duno:

What bothers me is why the "pink hair" team has such HUGE backpacks (full to the brim)....  Hey, wake up, this is the final city... you're racing to the finish line for $1M dollars.... lose the clothes... you're not going camping after this...   :funny:  :groan:

oh, BTW, is that the camera guy and audio guy (with microphone) way behind them?  :res:
Teams don't check their bags I believe while in race mode but don't quote me on that and Racefan82 did mention in his email that their were camera and soundguys behind the racers .....I should have quoted him .. sorry ;D

Perhaps their bags are full because just like the Globetrotters their bags are full because they are not actually racing in the final location.  They remembered to remove the checked-bag tags which only one of the Globetrotters forgot to remove.  The length of the tag also indicates that the bag was on several connecting flights.

The only teams actually spotted in Sin City are the pink-haired Father/Son Duo and the two Globetrotters.  Could they both be decoy teams?   The Globetrotters being Philiminated in Tallinn and the Father/Son team in Prague.   Has TPTB and WRP learned their lesson when RFF spotted the decoy Poker Playing Mamas (WITHOUT BACKPACKS) so easily in Tallinn?  Have they gone so far as actually secured a film permit just to make the arrival of the two decoy teams look more like the real thing?  Have the actual final three teams really been in another location all this time?   Most of the speculation about the two teams and the final solution has been based on one post which contained no actual sighting but a lot of suggested plot for the final day without confirmation.

Have TPTB and WRP finally been successful in leading the RFF detectives to bark up the wrong tree?

I'd say no. Even though they're there, It's possible that the other three can be easily seen, and I think it's not going to be possible to fly two teams away from the finish line... The finish line must be near the location though.

I'm having trouble placing the Harlem shot.  It's the one that will give a good time.

Think it is on the opposite end of the Rialto bridge (and opposite side) as compared with the shot of Gary & Matt Tomjenovich that Boingo placed.  But I need some tourista shots of that area to find the boxy planter they are running past

adding another Vegas sighting:

Three and a Long-necked Chicken

Quote
Friday, we were practically run over by two huge guys wearing Harlem Globetrotters jerseys and large backpacks running down the street followed by cameramen. I joked that they were probably on The Amazing Race. And sure enough, they ran up to The Golden Gate casino and ran back down the street carrying a big black and yellow card clearly reading "The Amazing Race"! I don't watch the show, but it was still exciting.

Who is VegasSinner?  His first post was at 3:41AM on August 7 saying teams would be in Sin City later that day.  Then later he says three teams including the team with a guy with red streaked hair was at the Wedding Chapel at the same time as the other teams.  When prompted he said the other two teams were man with black woman and a male - female team.   He never claims seeing the teams, and if he did the Decoy Father/Son team is running with the final three teams.  It all does not add up as being verdade.  Could he not be a WRP plant to mislead all the RFF detectives?

You say you saw the three teams then? What did the other two look likes besides the father/son?

Quote
It was very hard to tell, they arrived all at the same time, so very unclear who is teamed up with who.  There were four Males, and two females, one was black.
I think was a Male/Male team, then a Male/Female team, and a Male/Black Female Team, but not totally sure.

I know there are several Elvis wedding places but I 'm going to put this one out as the one:  Graceland Chapel

Its location:

619 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Las Vegas, NV 89101

Google maps says it is 14 min from the airport

The flight from Chicago UA 551 (fastest route from Prague) landed at 2:07 pm.  If things going likitysplit then I can see them getting up to this chapel by about 2:30 pm.   :jam:

It fits in with the airport sighting where someone asked for the tallest place in the park (Fritt Fall and Fritt Fall Tilt use the same structure; the ride doesn't allow much time to play spot-the-clue, however).

It was very hush hush over the whole. The few people who were involved were forced to sign confidentiality papers (I am not one of those, however, so I can babble freely  ). ****ing fast to cover up the envelope box with black refuse sacks, they were also, as soon as the participants were not in the vicinity.

What I understood the whole situation as it was a "Detour" (only a few were run), the task was to go tilt. A strange detail is that there is still something on the roof at Jetline: an arrow in the TAR colors that point in the direction of the Jet Rock. What it used to, I know not ...

agreed this pretty much counts them as decoys and if they were traveling with the globetrotters as pointed out. . .it looks like the orange guys are in the final 3 with Brian and Ericka and Cheyne and Megan
