Age: 26
Current Occupation: Businessman
Characteristic: Responsbile, mature, passionate, disciplined, orderly and independent

Both work together in a family business established 23 years ago, manufacturing and selling homemade yogurt. Their relationship is based on strong family ties. They are fighters and nobles. Do a lot of things together and are characterized by their constant activity. Edison father learned of the casting of the program and persuaded his son to apply.

Expectations: the passion and closeness in the race have motivated them to participate in "The Amazing Race." Edison son wants to find new ways to communicate with his father and thinks their relationship will be stronger after this competition.

Characteristic: serious, honest, determined, warrior, humble and loyal

They are friends from childhood, particularly since they met through their families. Support each other in many difficult moments and love each other like brothers. Guilherme is a former soldier of Aeronautics and Vinicius lost a semester of college to participate in the race. Both are fans of the series "The Amazing Race" and love the challenges. It was Vinicius who invited Guilherme to participate in this year's competition.

Expectations: get the prize for Brazil. Were recorded in the race to win and hope to unite the intellectual side of Vinicius with Guilherme's physical abilities.

Preparation: Guilherme intensified his training with the help of a specialist in adventure racing. Vinicius, meanwhile, worked his physical side and delved into the ancient cultures of Latin America. Esteban Portela

Marisol Marquez

Current Occupation: dancer and pilates instructor
Characteristic: independent, diligent, sensitive, family person, perseverance and stubborn.

They met at a party 16 years ago and have almost completed nine years of marriage. They left their careers (he and she Communication of Economics) to pursue the art and dance and feel very fortunate to do what they love. They are also yoga and Pilates instructors. What they fear most: a Marisol is concerned about the deep water, having to be cut off from his family and the possibility of being forced to eat strange things. Esteban is not very handy with crafts and frightens him that his life is exposed on television. However, it believes it can react the best way in any situation that comes your way.

Prize: do not have any specific plan but dream of creating an artistic and production company with the ability to buy their own home. This award could also give the stability needed to bear children.


Meet the Teams - Marietta & Jose - Dating -  Colombia

Marietta Acosta
Age: 23
Current occupation: psychologist
Characteristic: responsible, fair, active, independent, competitive, strong temperament, natural leader, controller and observer

Jose Cardenas
Age: 27
Current Occupation: mechanical engineer and businessman
Characteristic: focused, analytical, logical, practical, strict and strong-willed

Both are from Barranquilla. They met a year and a half in a nightclub in Cartagena through a cousin of hers who lives in Miami and six months later, reunited by chance in a supermarket and start dating. They have never traveled together. Unable to join Latin America's first season with his dad, Marietta convinced Jose to join the competition. Curiously, he had to cancel a major project of work to be part of the race and Marietta had to postpone their clinical hours to graduate.

Expectations: Learn each other more. Strengthen their relationship through extreme situations.

Preparation: trained both physically attending a gym regularly, but also thought about the mental side of competition. They saw all the previous seasons of the program and took notes to form their own strategies.

What they most fear: Jose is concerned about the encounter with wild or dangerous animals, while Marietta is afraid of heights.

Prize: not yet decided whether to split the prize or invest in something they can produce benefits as a couple in the future.

Meet the Teams - Aleandra & Marlene - Friends - Argentina

Maria Aleandra Scafati
Age: 41 (with 3 childrens)
Current occupation: specialist in environmental issues
Characteristic: methodical, creative and responsible, always with a "Plan B" under the arm.

Marlene Elisabeth Zichy
Age: 39
Current Occupation: economist (along with her mother formed the foundation of Buenos Aires Dogland to cllect stray dogs)
Characteristic: dual, spontaneous, fun, happy, creative, messy and scary

Aleandra and Marlene met at school and despite having lived in various parts of the world, always remained very close. Considered as two sisters and currently living in Buenos Aires. They are classic car racers in his spare time and practice many activities together. Looking racing strategy, Aleandra found by chance with "The Amazing Race" and decided to sign up with Marlene, who is a fan of the program.

Expectations: the adventure, enjoy and have fun. They think if they have fun, communicate and understand each other, can solve any problems and obstacles they encounter on the road.

Preparation: Marlene did not have much time to train physically due to an operation but has confidence in his spiritual strength. Aleandra, however, was trained to practice running and cycling. Moreover, both took a climbing course. They also ensured preparing their costumes and shoes, all pink.

Meet the Teams - Roger & Omar - Friends -  Venezuela

Roger Saliba Alam
Age: 29
Current occupation: businessman (owner of an importer)
Characteristic: competitive, strives to achieve its goals, keeps his word and plan thing ahead.

Jose Omar Yepez Guedez
Age: 26
Current Occupation: student of social communication
Characteristic: irreverent, quirky, optimistic, calm, spontaneous, funny and clueless.

Four years ago they met at the party of a mutual friend and have since traveled together all over the country in search of extreme adventure. Omar found the registration for the race by accident when visiting the website of Discovery and immediately called Roger. Interestingly, Omar made no effort to comply with the training regime because Roger was about to cancel their participation in the program.

Expectations: travel, enjoy and represent their country well.

Preparation: Roger organized a training program that included running, climbing and biking. Both studied the geography of the region and learned to use a compass and a GPS. Also endeavored to map reading.

What they fear most: Roger believes that the most difficult for them to be to understand and agree. Omar, meanwhile, worries that nervousness or lack of concentration put them in a difficult situation.

Award: Roger wants to invest their money to have it ready the day they married. Omar, however, consider giving 90% of its share to Roger to give him and the other 10% would use it to buy a car

As children living between Brazil and Chile because of the engineering profession of his father, who was constantly moved. Mauricios a real fan of the show and convinced Mariana (who lives in Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 12 years) to accompany him, with the intention of combining their strengths: planning capacity of Mauritius with the outdoor skills of Mariana.

Expectations: Mariana hopes to learn from the strengths of his brother and support him in his weakest moments. Mauritius, but seeks to give their best, being tested with new challenges and limits.

Preparation: Mauritius prepared to watching the episodes of previous seasons and studying maps of cities in the Internet. He lost nearly 10 kilograms on bike and swimming. Meet the Teams - Jelkin & Javier - Engaged - Dominican Republic

Lorenzo Baez ("Javier")
Age: 36
Current Occupation: Lead Animator
Characteristic: Shy, hardworking, perfectionist, responsible, explosive and methodical

Working together for four years and a half in a hotel in La Romana and are dating for three years. Jelkin is a real fan of the program. Watching "The Amazing Race" the version known from U.S. also of Israel, Asia and Latin America.

Expectations: they expect to know several places, represent either the Dominican Republic and win the prize. To Jelkin, this will be a honeymoon in advance. For Javier, however, participation in the race will serve as a litmus test as to the existence and the relationship.

Preparation: Javier started doing cardio and weight training. Latin American Studies, walked and practiced athletics. They also began to eat more healthily. Both saw the videos of previous editions to define strategies and agree on appropriate dress.

What they most fear: though Jelkin is a risky person, afraid of heights and I'm afraid to have to practice bungee jumping.  Javier concerned swimming. Swimming is not very fast but other than that he is convinced he can do anything that is available.

Prize: they know what they will do up to the last penny. They plan to use the money to some businesses and for the future of the children of both.


Meet the Teams - Susy & Stefany - Mother / Daughter - Peru

Susana "Susy" Rotstain
Age: 44 (has also 2 sons, Ruben & David)
Current occupation: preschool teacher / housewife
Characteristic: responsible, organized and punctual

Stefany Purodominsky
Age: 23
Current Occupation: Law student
Characteristic: cheerful, adventurous, sociable, spontaneous and sympathetic

Although very different, the relationship between the two is very good. Both always liked "The Amazing Race" and have seen  seasons of the United States and Latin America. Stefany was the one who took the initiative to register, even though it meant giving up a job where his career practicing law.

Expectations: they want to spend more time together as Stefany devotes many hours to study. Also looking to live a great experience between mother and daughter traveling and new things.

Preparation: Susy hired a personal trainer. He learned to breathe properly during exercise and eat properly cared for. Stefany trained and practicing running drills at home, but sometimes joined Susy sessions with a personal trainer.

What they fear most: Stefany not afraid of heights but Susy is afraid of bungee jumping practice.

Prize: use the money to help his family and pay Stefany's university and of her brothers, Ruben and David.
