‘There are no shortcuts’
Well, we got by another one. Now we're starting to get to where we're working in conjunction with all the fans that are voting to keep us on the show and we're starting to get some higher scores, which is going to help the cause as well.
It's been great to hear all the feedback from everybody and all the encouragement on the blogs.
There are even people saying they're addicted to the blogs and they're going to have to go through a 12-step program. It's also nice to hear from my sisters, who comment on all the blogs, and I hear from my aunts, family, friends and all kinds of support from all over the county--and that's really great.
You know when you sign on for this show that all but one couple is going to experience losing at this. Nobody really knows how the elimination show is going to turn out. I don't even think the couples who have the highest scores ever feel like they're a shoe-in for this because your scores are only half the deal and the fan vote is the other half.
It's just really hard to say what's going to happen because there's no telling how many millions of people are voting.
The season-premiere was the biggest premiere ever for "Dancing with the Stars." It had 31 million viewers and that's a lot of people. Then you look at people that are voting 30-some, 40-some, 50-some times, you're looking at astronomical numbers and figures coming in and nobody has any idea who's getting how many votes.
They keep it absolutely top-secret. But I don't worry about that stuff.
It's just like my riding career, you can't worry about all the things you can't control. I have to keep my focus on the things I can control and what I can control is how much time I put into this and how hard I work at it. Beyond that, the rest of it is out my control.
So, as I mentioned yesterday, this week Chelsie and I have the Pasodoble.
If you're waiting for an easy dance, well, it's not going to come. They're all really difficult for different reasons and I know exactly what to expect on Wednesday morning, so it'll be a matter of Chelsie starting to get it choreographed. Then she'll teach me the basics of it and we'll start working on all the form and technique.
That's the part where you feel like you're sliding backwards and it starts getting really tough, but you keep listening to your coach and you just do it over and over. She critiques it and you do it again, and you just keep repeating that time and again.
There are no shortcuts. That is the process.
We'll start on it and, I think, everybody is expecting something from me because the origin of this dance comes from bullfighting, which is kind of funny because I don't feel any more connected to this dance than I do any of them. But I'm ready to go at it full steam ahead.
This is a Latin dance and I bombed so bad on the first Latin dance that, I think, a lot of people are also thinking I'm not cut out to do the Latin dance. It's hard for me so I have something to prove this week, but I've learned so much through this process than what I knew when Chelsie and I first began.
It's still a big challenge. The whole idea behind this show is a big challenge.
We're going to go at first thing in the morning so I'll check back in tomorrow night and let everybody know how the first day of practice went.

Dancing with the Stars Episode Recap: Tuesday, March, 31, 2009
Two new dances mean two celebrities get the boot this week on Dancing with the Stars, while Kevin Rudolf and Boyz II Men take the stage. So who, uh, reached the end of the road?
How is this going to work this week? Bottom four? Bottom three? Is there going to be a dance-off? I'm so confused. Anyhow, time for another recap of Monday night. Chuck will give Bruno a crispy pizza in exchange for an eight or a nine. It doesn't really work that way, hon. LT's disappointed and bitter. Holly apologizes for falling off the stool. Dmitry says it's OK... except that it's not... because he's lying. Cheryl's hitting on Gilles, or something to that effect.
And now for a nice treat: The encore is back — featuring, duh, Gilles and Cheryl. Does this mean there's no dance-off? Yes! Tom tells us there's no dance-off tonight since it's a double axing. Thank God. I don't need to see Holly fall and actually break a rib.

After a rave featuring Kevin Rudolf and the pro gals in their best pleather dominatrix gear (it's either that or GLAD bags), Samantha grills LT on his frustration with the dances and scores. Apparently Edyta didn't get the dial-down-the-pep memo because if it weren't for her, you'd think he was in danger of leaving. Try to enjoy it, dude. Elsewhere, Bruno the Oompa Loompa does something naughty. Maybe he got his crispy pizza? I don't know what that means.

Next week, half of the couples will dance the Viennese waltz, which apparently we need a refresher for (courtesy of Louis van Amstel) even though we've seen it for three straight seasons already. Hey, how about you show me the rumba you've featured since forever? At least Cloris is nowhere near the premises.

Now is more fluff, but good fluff. Marshmallow fluff. Boyz II Men is here, hopefully to belt out "End of the Road." Heh. But it's Motown Philly that's back again, minus one, of course. Who do you think you are? American Idol? I kid. I don't even watch Idol. Shawn Stockman looks exactly the same as he did 20 years ago and is still skinny as hell. How do you do it, man? Steve-O seems completely resigned to going home at this point. Whatever happens is what's supposed to happen? Sure, but c'mon. Even Holly's faking it better. No pun intended. Sam wants to know how he'd feel "if tonight ended the rest of this competition for you." Like a champion, godammit! Steve-O's not used to dealing with pressure without drugs and alcohol... so this is a step in the right direction? Dancing: My Anti-Drug. By the way, what's with the judges praising everyone except Steve-O in that contestant package? I don't like ominous foreshadowing.

Finally, after Percentage Conversion for Dummies/shameless plug for AT&T (a scoring package in laymen's terms), we learn Steve and Karina are in the bottom three, which means Ty and Chelsie, and David and Kym are safe.
So who's bouncing?
Holly & Dmitry... and... Steve & Karina. And they exit as "End of the Road" blares over the speaks. Oh, show. And to think I was going to go to bed disappointed.
America did good, no? The brains and the blond are gone. I have absolutely no objections. I liked Holly and her attitude, but she just never delivered. Woz was, well, 'nuff said. At least Karina and Maks can plan their wedding now.

'Dancing' Stars Say Goodbye to Holly and The Woz
It was a "Dancing with the Stars" first on Tuesday night as two couples were sent home, and ET is backstage with the contestants after partners Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff, and Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin were eliminated from the competition.
Steve and Karina explain to ET that not only did they have a great time together, but they also learned a lot from one another.
"I've already told you, you've heard me say it -- you brought the love of this dancing to my life," Steve tells Karina. "You taught me something I never thought I could do. You always have those teachers in your life that you remember, you're the tops now."
Holly Madison tells ET that being a "Dancing" contestant was a dream come true.
"We had an amazing four weeks on the show, we had so much fun," Holly says. "All the cast members are so amazing. It was always a dream of mine to do the show so I'm really happy I got the opportunity to do it."
Watch the video to see the remaining contestants bid farewell to the eliminated couples, and former "Jackass" star Steve-O competing on the show while abstaining from drugs and alcohol.
