Another article on Brooke Burke:

Brooke Burke Injures Foot, Is Hospitalized

Stop the press! Dancing With the Stars sweetheart, Brooke Burke, has injured her foot! ABC has confirmed that the star was sent to Cedars-Sinai hospital as a precaution after falling hard on her foot during a particularly energetic jitterbug dance step. “She’s a little sore, but she rehearsed today and she feels ready to dance tonight," said an ABC rep. Her dance partner is Erick Hough. No word on whether this will affect the upcoming episodes but one thing's for sure: she'll be racking up some sympathy votes.

Lance Bass Diary:

EXCLUSIVE: DWTS' Lance Bass: What You'll See on Tonight's Show

Lance Bass is keeping an exclusive diary only on Usmagazine.com about his experience competing on Dancing With the Stars. Check back each Monday to keep up with Bass' progress, and get behind-the-scenes dish on ABC's hit series.

TANGO TO THE TOP
After last week's tango, we are finally tied with Brooke [Burke] and Derek [Hough]! Everything we’ve done so far has been trial and error, and for the first few weeks, we tried to put in all the bells and whistles in our routines that would entertain everyone. We ended up overdoing it to the point where people weren't looking at the crazy steps we were doing - they just wanted a traditional dance.

I'm definitely getting more secure with the show, though. Getting positive feedback from the judges (and having Len request that we do the encore dance) after our tango changed my whole mood. Now we're flying high and just trying to keep the momentum going into this week.

SWINGIN' WITH THE STARS
During the first three weeks, the producers have had a good time playing with our emotions and holding us until the end of the show to declare us safe. Judging by Len’s comments after our tango, it seems like they threw us a bone this week in giving us West Coast Swing.

Most of the show's pro ballroom dancers have a style they specialize in, and West Coast Swing is Lacey’s specialty. It’s the first time they’re introducing it and some of the show’s other pros don’t even know how to do it. It’s almost like the pros are brought down to [the celebrities’] level having to learn something new. I’m very excited that I have the partner who’s a seven-time U.S. Open Swing Dance champion. This should be our week to shine, but we also have a lot to prove. Everyone’s going to expect it to be good, so it has to be beyond amazing.

TONIGHT'S TEASERS
As part of our rehearsal this week, I met with Lacey's dad, Buddy Schwimmer on Thursday. He is the king of swing, and he taught me a lot of great moves. I basically have the first family of swing teaching me this week. Lacey and I actually got another Rihanna song to dance to this week, “Breakin’ Dishes,” which is my favorite Rihanna song. It works perfectly for swing.

HIP-HOP HURRAY!
With West Coast Swing, it’s not about form, which is a lot more my style. It’s more loose and grounded with a lot of fast footwork. Our performance this week is really going to be about the attitude we put in it. That’s going to be way better for me, because it has a bit of hip-hip vibe to it. I can finally be, as Len says, "hip-hoppish!"

Tonight was a good show....

As much as I love Lance & Lacey, I really had to agree with the judges, Lacey was doing all the work, but Lance did try....he's at the bottom of the scoreboard...love them but am worried....

Maurice/Cheryl really surprised me this week.....they were good!

And on to the Hough siblings....

Brooke/Derek were awesome....deserved the 29!

Cody/Julianne....what can I say, I am never prouder of Cody! He totally pulled it off and got a 28! His first 10 from Carrie Ann! WTG, Cody!

My predictions for bottom 2:

Cloris/Corky
Toni/Alec

Voted off will be Cloris/Corky

An interesting article on judge Len Goodman:

Len Goodman makes $400K, money that will lead him to quit UK’s Strictly Come Dancing

Dancing with the Stars head judge Len Goodman says he will quit either the US or the UK version of the show, which he and Bruno Tonioli film simultaneously by flying between L.A. and London every week.

The jet-lag takes it toll. I wasn’t going to do it this year — the flying backwards and forwards — but I got talked into it again. But this will probably be the last time. I’ll have to make the decision — if they ask me — whether to do the British show or American show,” he told the News of the World.

He’ll probably stay with the U.S. version because of the pay, although he likes Strictly Come Dancing better. “My heart wants to do the British show but my head — the money — makes me want to do the American one,” he said.

The paper reports that he received a £30,000 raise from the BBC this year, “which took his pay to £90,000 for the series. But it’s still not close to the £250,000 he gets from US telly giants ABC.”

In the UK, “series” is synonymous with “season,” so that means he’s making about $150,000 in the UK, but about $424,000 in the US—although it doesn’t say if ABC’s pay is per-season or per year.

An interesting article:

Cloris Leachman to Costar with Brad Pitt in Tarantino Flick

After "mastering" the salsa on Dancing with the Stars, we ask: Is there anything Cloris Leachman can't do?

Apparently not. She'll next appear in a cameo role in Inglourious Basterds (not a typo), Quentin Tarantino's next film, alongside Brad Pitt, Mike Myers and Hostel director Eli Roth. Basterds tells the story of American Lt. Aldo Raine (Pitt), who assembles a group of Jewish soldiers to kill Nazis during World War II. Leachman will play Mrs. Himmelstein, an elderly Jewish woman who inspires Roth's character to seek vengeance.

Shooting is already underway in France and Germany. Leachman will join the production once her Dancing obligations are complete, which should be… any minute now. Basterds is scheduled to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May of next year.

Here are the scores from last night, with some commentary:

Team                 Dance                   Carrie Len Bruno Total
Lance/Lacey      West Coast Swing   7       7      7       21   it was obvious the extent to which that dance featured
Lacey; bad move, Lacey; the audience wants to find out
                                                                                          Lance's skills
Toni/Alec            West Coast Swing   7       7      8       22
Susan/Tony       Hustle                      7       7      7       21 it was obvious they were dancing careful and safe(see below)
Warren/Kym      Hustle                      8       8      9       25 very high energy; very slick; very enjoyable
Cloris/Corky       Salsa                      7       7      7       21
Maurice/Cheryl   Salsa                      9       9      9       27 the rehearsal highlighted Cheryl requiring more energy
Brooke/Derek    Jitterbug                 10     9     10      29 wow!
Cody/Julianne   Jitterbug                  10     9       9      28

It may appear that the jitterbug was the one of the four select dances which led to high scores. I don't think it was that. Derek consulted a how-to-do-the-jitterbug-instructions list, so it was clear that the pros are not famliar with many of these dances. The unbelieveable part of the show was the introduction of the first hustle dance team with the statement that the star had an injured foot under medical treatement. I was sure we were then going to see  Brooke, but instead it is Susan they meant. Brooke has a worse injury with 2 broken bones, but that was not apparent last night.

You have 3 teams tied at the bottom of the judges' scores: Lance/Lacey, Susan/Tony, and Cloris/Corky. Toni/Alec were only 1 point ahead. All are vulnerable. I doubt that Susan Lucci is going to get the ax, particualrly under the conditions that he performed. Lance had an off night, but he has his following. We all know about Cloris' senior citizen support.  It looks to me like Toni/Alec that will get eliminated tonight.

Make sure you watch the second hour tonight as it is another elimination round. if I had to guess, teams will have to do one of the other 4 dances this week of their choice.

Another article about Cloris:

Cloris Leachman Talks About Working with Brad Pitt

From Jennie Garth to Marie Osmond, Dancing With the Stars has been a shot in the arm to several Hollywood careers. Just ask Cloris Leachman, who at the age of 82 will be going from the dance floor to working alongside Brad Pitt!

The irrepressible actress, who has kept viewers of the ABC reality show laughing all season, is appearing in Pitt’s next movie, the Quentin Tarantino-directed WWII drama Inglourious Basterds.

“I’m not working with him yet,” she told OK! about the hunky movie star. “It’s the best script I’ve ever read. This is a remarkable piece of work although it’s the worst spelling I’ve ever read in my life. Every third word is a misspelled word!”

“It’s about the Germans occupying Paris and the different factions. I play an old Jewish woman in Brooklyn but we’re going to shoot it in Berlin.”

When asked if there's any chance Brad will fall for her the same way he fell for Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Cloris sighed, “They have children now. You don’t want to interfere with that, interested as he might be.”

An interesting article:

Brooke Burke Hobbles to DWTS Lead

She may have a tender foot, but Brooke Burke is still leading the pack on Dancing With the Stars in the fifth week of competition.

Only one day after a rehearsal mishap sent her to the hospital for X-rays, Brooke and partner Derek Hough got the highest score of the season — 29 out of 30  — for their jitterbug.

“There’s no fracture. I bruised my bone and hurt my tendons a little," Brooke explained after Monday night's performance show. "I’m just going to be on anti-inflammatories and ice for the next week or so and hopefully it will get better."

She added, “Everybody’s getting hurt!”

And how! This season, Misty-May Treanor dropped out after rupturing her Achilles tendon and Jeffrey Ross hurt his eye. And soap star Susan Lucci’s foot injury, suffered two weeks ago, turned out to be much more serious than Brooke’s.

After feeling discomfort, Susan went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where a doctor diagnosed her with a fractured left foot. When the doctor gave her the go-ahead to dance, however, the actress bravely performed the hustle with pro Tony Dovolani, for which she got a score of 22.

“My foot feels fine. No pain right now," reveals the All My Children star. "I’m taking it a week at a time and I’m hoping me and Tony’s fans will continue to vote for us.”

Said Tony, “It just goes to show you that this is a sport and a lot more people are being injured this season because it’s a little bit more grueling schedule. Everybody’s really pushing themselves to the limit.”

Joining the other walking wounded was Lance Bass, who slipped and fell during his West Coast Swing routine with partner Lacey Schwimmer.

“He injured his toe!” Lacey told OK! after the show. Lance explained the floor is “really sticky, because most of the dancers use castor oil [on their shoe bottoms], so I had to overcompensate. I bit the dust!”

But his injury was minor and Lance insisted they were happy with their performance, tying with Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas’ salsa for the night’s lowest score, a 21.

“It wasn’t a downer for us. I’m very proud of what we did. It sucks the judges didn’t see what we saw,” Lance said.

Meanwhile, Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson got the most enthusiastic audience reaction for their energetic hustle, which got a 25. Retired football legend Warren, who weighs 300 pounds, said lifting Kym was no sweat. “She don’t weigh nothing,” the big fella told OK! “She’s a hundred pounds!”

Warren said the hard part is that he gets dizzy. “I had to work up to that speed. I don’t like spinning.”

Maurice Greene and partner Cheryl Burke earned their highest score of the season, a 27, for their salsa. Cheryl was seen calling Maurice “lazy” during their televised rehearsal clips.

“I was frustrated, not so much in him, but in myself because I didn’t know what to do. Salsa is not my specialty,” Cheryl explained to OK! backstage. “We spent ten hours rehearsing one night. I could have handled myself better.”

Maurice laughed it off: “I understood how frustrated she was. She was trying to get something out of me but I wasn’t comfortable in putting that effort out there because I didn’t know what I was doing.”

But once they hit the dance floor, it was a different story, and Maurice even got a kiss and hug afterwards from judge Carrie Ann Inaba. “I really felt good about this dance. [Carrie Ann] couldn’t resist me!”

Hannah Montana star Cody Linley and Julianne Hough were thrilled with their jitterbug, which earned the night’s second highest score, a 28. “I think Julianne did an amazing job coming up with the theme so it fit me and I felt confident,” he said. And look out, Miley Cyrus! Cody said he’d love to have Julianne, who played Lucille Ball during their dance, appear on Hannah Montana. “I’d love to do a sitcom!” Julianne said.

Julianne Hough's Blog:

Julianne Hough Jitterbugs With Cody And Jokes With Chuck

I'm going to warn you. There's good stuff at the end of this blog post. But I'm going to start out with last night's performance.

I like it. I was excited by it. I thought Cody Jitterbugged his butt off.

A couple people today have already asked where I got the idea for the costumes and choreography. Well, you saw the tape of the choreography. Like my brother, I was learning as I did it. As for the costumes, remember last week I said I ran up to wardrobe as soon as we got the music?

What I didn't say is that I saw my brother Derek run up to wardrobe so he could be first. So I was like, hmmm, "Cody, stay here and get our music," and then I ran up behind Derek. We were doing the same dance, and I found out they'd already chosen the idea for the high school teenager look. I didn’t want to do the same thing. I quickly thought what else was from the same era, and I came up with I Love Lucy – Lucy and Ricky. I went with that, and I have to say it was fun.

All day yesterday people on the lot who saw me complimented the costume. They said my hair was wicked cool. Derek and Brooke looked great, too. Was there any competition between us? Maybe for the first time there was some sibling rivalry last night. Deep down that’s not really the case. I root for him and he roots for me. But it’s fun to get a little competitive. We laugh at it. Cody and I were pleased with our scores – and Derek and Brooke's time will come.

Don't you think Cody was good? He's been really focused, thank goodness. I think he’s getting tired. I think, or I hope, he used up a bunch of his extra energy and is now spending that energy on dancing. He changed a couple weeks ago. I think he realized he has a shot and he got a little competitive. He said, Julianne, I just want to get the encore dance. Then I know I have a shot.

Well, we got the encore dance tonight. I think that’s going to boost his confidence. I’m looking forward to it.

Last night, the two that stood out to me, other than Brooke and Derek, were Cheryl and Maurice and Warren and Kym. They were great and exciting. And everyone loves Warren. It’s crazy. It’s almost like you have to watch him because you don’t believe it. Cloris also seems to keep sticking around too. Who knows what will happen.

So many of you wrote in last week about Toby, offering him a good home. That was really nice. But here’s the update. He was adopted yesterday by one of my sister’s really good friends, which is great. He’s going to a wonderful home. But I’m a little sad. He was such a sweetheart. He and Lexi loved each other. I know we’ll get them together again. Wasn’t that picture of them sleeping together cute?

I was a little naughty last week at my boyfriend’s expense. Blame it on Brad Paisley, who is the king of all pranksters. He called me and said he really wanted to get my boyfriend Chuck, who’s on tour with him, and he asked if I’d help. I said sure. So he told me to go to this studio, the Jimmy Kimmel’s studio, and his friend would be there and he’d tell me what they wanted me to do.

I went there and they gave me some cue cards. I read through them and then said with some reservation and disbelief, “Let me get this straight. You want me to tell him that I’m breaking up with him? And you’re going to play this in front of 10,000 people? I can’t do that. It’s terrible.” But I did it anyway.

What’s terrible is that Chuck got pranked that whole night – last Saturday. First, he got chased before the show by all these crew guys who doused him with maple syrup and feathers. I think they finally got him at the end of the stadium. Then during the show he does this song called “Stealing Cinderella” and they put Cinderllas all over the giant video screen with his head on them. And it just went on.

Finally, Brad came onstage and told Chuck that I’d sent a video to wish him well. It’s pretty funny. See for yourself here.

Later, Chuck called me and said he was going to pretend he was upset and not call me for a day, but he couldn’t do that. He was laughing and said he knew the second it came on it was a prank.

So that catches you up on what’s been going on.

As for the rest of today, I’m pre-taping my performance of “My Hallelujah Song.” I know a bunch of you had written in that you were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait a couple weeks. They show had to switch me with the Macy’s dance production. When I heard, I went oh dang, but it’s cool. I’m still extremely excited about performing it today. I think it’ll air in November. In fact, I’m going to do soundcheck for that soon. And probably by the time you’re reading this, Cody and I will be practicing for our encore tonight.

Talk to you tomorrow…

Julianne

More from Julianne Hough's Blog... a joke on her boyfriend:

Julianne Hough's Boyfriend, Chuck Wicks, Gets Dumped (Hey, It's A Joke)

This whole thing was Brad Paisley's idea.

I felt kind of bad about doing it. But it's kind of funny.

Chuck thought it was funny, too. -- Julianne

* "Boston Legal" posted week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (9.0 million vs. 8.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.3/6 vs. 2.1/5).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 28% currently, from 20% at the same point in 2007. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

An interesting article:

Monday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

Lip Service: Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke wowed the crowd and the judges with a saucy salsa performance that earned them their highest score of the season. “I wanted to come out and own the dance because the judges felt I wasn’t owning my dances and taking charge,” said Greene, explaining why he threw a smooch in the judges’ direction during his dance number. “That was when I just looked at them, blew them a kiss to tell them I’m in control with this. I got this!”

What Foot Injury?: Despite a foot injury, Brooke Burke performed her routine without incident–even topping the leader board again this week. “I didn’t want to alarm anybody… I didn’t even tell Derek,” Burke said, downplaying her injury. “I have been icing it and I went to the hospital for X-rays today. I got checked out by the doctor this morning and responsibly, I did get an okay.” With Burke’s newfound love of dance, she says, “I had so much adrenaline in me, I just wanted to dance. I didn’t even think about it – that dance was so much fun and so high energy.”

Game On: Last week the judges chided Warren Sapp for what they felt was a lackluster performance. Sapp didn’t appreciate the insinuation that he was phoning it in. So this week he stepped up his game with a crowd-pleasing hustle. Can you say Disco King? “It felt amazing,” said Sapp. “I told Kym I had a bunch of sleep last night and I woke up and everything just clicked with me. We walked onto the stage and I said let’s tear the roof off this mother!” Added Sapp, “I’ve got my ‘Sheila’ [Sapp's nickname for his Aussie partner Kym Johnson] here and I’m good.”

Derek’s Hair-Raising Night: While the ladies usually outdo the guys in the costume department, Burke’s partner Derek Hough was hands-down the man with the craziest hairdo on Monday night’s show. “I’ve never let the hair department touch my hair before, but I let them rock and roll today and I loved it,” Hough said of his piled-high pompadour. The do was courtesy of “lots of hairspray and a blow dry.” It was a very momentous occasion for me,” added Hough. “People were going all day, ‘Is that a wig or extensions?’ And no, it’s all my hair.”

More from Inside the Ballroom:
• While Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer talked to host Samantha Harris in the red room following their West Coast swing number, Tom Bergeron grimaced at the judges for their harsh criticism of Schwimmer for showcasing her own skills instead of her partner’s. Bergeron shook his head and mouthed “wow” to Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli as if to say “that was harsh.”

• Two Dancing moms went the distance for their kids. Schwimmer’s mom Laurie drove to L.A. from Arizona for the fifth week in a row to see the show. Meanwhile Mark Ballas’s mom, Shirley, flew in from London. Though Mark and his partner Kim Kardashian were eliminated in week two, Shirley was on hand to cheer her “almost kids,” former dance pupils Julianne and Derek Hough, as well as her ex-husband Corky Ballas.

• As soon as Monday’s show ended, Julianne ran into the audience and smooched her boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks. Hough gushed to PEOPLE, “Isn’t he gorgeous? He’s been to almost every show (this season). He’d never seen the show ever until this season. He didn’t know me as a dancer, he knew me as a singer,” said Hough, who toured with Wicks and Brad Paisley over the summer. “He’s the best.”

I would argue that point rather strenuously. I think it is fair and I expected that Cloris/Corky would not be vulnerable. After all, they scored the same 21 points as Lance/Lacey and Suasn/Tony and were only 1 point behind Toni/Alec.

Here is what I predicted earlier today from watching last night:
You have 3 teams tied at the bottom of the judges' scores: Lance/Lacey, Susan/Tony, and Cloris/Corky. Toni/Alec were only 1 point ahead. All are vulnerable. I doubt that Susan Lucci is going to get the ax, particualrly under the conditions that he performed. Lance had an off night, but he has his following. We all know about Cloris' senior citizen support.  It looks to me like Toni/Alec that will get eliminated tonight.

I don't claim to be clairvoyant, but Toni/Alec dropped in judges' scores from prior rounds and appeared to the most vulnerable from having the least fan base. Did they deserve to lose. I think so.

 :funny: Ok

Good grief based on dance ability I don’t think Cloris deserves to be there over Toni or Lance or Susan

I have seen her perform I do watch apskip her shenanigans can be entertaining sometimes but she deserved to be out in week 1 the judges have been very kind to her

Yes I don’t think it is fair that Cloris is still there her ability to dance would only impress someone of her own age and with the same speed omg you can’t compare her to Toni and or the others.

Those women perform lifts while Cloris gets dragged on the floor

An intersting article:

Julianne Hough Taken To Hospital Following ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Julianne Hough was taken to the hospital after “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday night.

The blonde professional dancer, who this season has been partnered with former “Hannah Montana” star Cody Linley, was taken to the hospital after experiencing abdominal pains, a rep for Julianne confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“She was experiencing slight stomach pains all day that increased and the doctors thought it was best to have them checked out,” the rep told Access.

However, contrary to a report on the internet, Julianne did not collapse, the rep noted.

Sources on the set saw Julianne’s brother and fellow pro dancer, Derek Hough, run off shortly after the broadcast, following a private conversation with a member of the “DWTS” crew.

Her celebrity partner, Cody, took press questions on his own following the show, which saw singer Toni Braxton eliminated. The actor, however, did not indicate that Julianne had been rushed to hospital, and it was unclear if he was aware of the news.

On Monday night, Julianne was a ball of energy on set as she and Cody danced the jitterbug. She was especially spirited, according to sources as her boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks, watched the on-screen duo dance from the sidelines.

Another article on Julianne:

Dancing's Julianne Hough Hospitalized After Show

Two-time Dancing With the Stars champ Julianne Hough was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after Tuesday night's live results show in which she performed a high-energy dance.

Hough, 20, "was experiencing slight stomach pains all day that increased and the doctors thought it was best to have them checked out," her rep, Cindy Guagenti, tells PEOPLE.

Contrary to other reports, Hough "didn't collapse" at the show, Guagenti says.

In fact, Hough was energetic all afternoon and evening.

The budding country singer performed her hit "My Hallelujah Song" while doing choreographed moves with brother Derek and dancer Mark Ballas during a pre-taped segment. The segment, airing later in the season, was taped twice. During the second take a spirited Hough exhorted the crowd to cheer loudly.

Hough also appeared fine during the one-hour telecast. She performed an encore dance with partner Cody Linley: a lively jitterbug that brought the crowd to its feet.

But 40 minutes after the show ended, she was seen getting into an ambulance at CBS Studios in L.A., where Dancing is taped.

Tuesday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)
Excluding the night of the second Presidential Debate, ABC drew its largest audience (11.3 million) and highest Adults 18-49 performance (2.7/7) since season premiere Tuesday - since 9/23/08.

"Dancing with the Stars Recap" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
ABC's "Dancing with the Stars Recap" saw increases in the hour over the previous week of 4.1 million (9.3 million vs. 5.2 million) and 54% in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 1.3/4).

"Dancing with the Stars Results" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
ABC's "Dancing with the Stars Results" hit season highs in both Total Viewers (16.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.8/9), growing week to week by 1.2 million viewers and by 15% among young adults (14.8 million & 3.3/8 on 10/14/08).  In addition, "DWTS Results" led its time period in Total Viewers, Women 18-49 (5.2/12) and Women 25-54 (6.4/14), leading its time slot for the 4th consecutive telecast in both women demos.  "DWTS Results" towered over its unscripted competition in the time period, NBC's second hour of "The Biggest Loser: Families," by a season-best of 8.3 million viewers and 23% in Adults 18-49 ("Loser" = 7.7 million & 3.1/8).  R&B star and Broadway actress Toni Braxton was the fifth dancer to leave the competition this season.

* "Eli Stone" saw gains over its season premiere the prior week among Women 18-34 (2.4/7 vs. 2.1/6) and Women 18-49 (3.1/8 vs. 2.8/7).

Julianne Hough's Blog:

DWTS Star Julianne Hough Says Bad Stomach Ache Caused Hospital Drama

Everybody, I’m ok. I'm fine. In case you didn't hear the news, last night it was my turn to go to the hospital. Here’s what happened.

I didn’t feel well the whole day. But I’m a trooper. I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t want to be dramatic about things. Actually, I was all right while I taped a performance of “My Hallelujah Song” and I was not too bad as I went in to transform myself into Lucy. But then, oh boy.

I don’t know if anyone could see my face during the show, but I was trying so hard to put a smile on. I was in so much pain. Afterward, I went backstage and curled up in a ball. That’s when everyone said I needed to go to the hospital. I didn't collapse as some reports indicated.

It’s weird how I danced through it, how when you have to do something you forget about not feeling well or any kind of pain. But the minute I stopped, it hit me. I was like oh man.

Anyway, bfore we left for to the emergency room, I realized I was still in my I Love Lucy costume. There was no way I was going to the hospital wearing that stuff. I quickly changed out of my wig and my dress. But I forgot to take off my over-drawn Lucy lipstick. By the time I realized, I was like whatever; I’m sure they see a lot worse there.

The DWTS crew was trying to film it, but I was like seriously guys, don’t film it, please. I didn’t break my foot.

I was with my mom when I checked into the hospital. The minute I got there TMZ, ET and other outlets were waiting outside. I was like oh my goodness. It was amazing how fast news can travel.

Inside, it was extremely busy. They didn't have a space to give me my own room. They put me in the hallway with a curtain thing separating us. We heard people scream. It was an awful experience to hear people in that kind of agony. I’d never been in an emergency room before. I was grateful I wasn’t there for anything more serious than a bad stomach ache.

With stomach problems, you never know what’s going on. It could've been appendicitis. It turned out just to be a bad stomach. As my mom said, better safe than sorry.

But everything’s good, I’m fine. Before I left the hospital, which was pretty late, I asked the doctor if I could have a note to sleep in. :) I was supposed to do the group dance rehearsal today, but I’m going to go back to bed and relax and hopefully take it easy today. Tonight, I’m supposed to tape Jimmy Kimmel for a show that will air the night of the CMAs, on the 12th. But I don’t know if I'll make it. I can do that another day. Oh, my performance of "My Hallelujah Song" is supposed to air on DWTS on November 11th. As for next week, Cody and I got the Samba. I’m excited. I think Cody’s up to it.

Next week I'll finish talking about the songs on my album. I keep getting distracted. For right now, though, it's back to bed.

I'm talking to Fancast about doing a live blog next Wednesday and answering a bunch of your questions. I'll let you know.

Again, thanks for your concern and good wishes.

Talk to you soon.
Julianne

An interview with Toni:

"It was like I was singing on stage as a kid for the very first time."

Are you happy you made it as far as you did?
Toni: I really just wanted to get through the first five weeks of rehearsal, so this was like icing on the cake for me.

How was the experience for you?
Toni: It was like I was singing on stage as a kid for the very first time, that was the feeling. I was nervous and my hands were shaking. This is the first time I have performed since my heath scare. But I surprised myself. And I am overjoyed with what I did.
Alec: I knew she had it in her. I bought out the dancer in Toni.
Toni: And I bought out the softer side of Alec. He was reserved and I bought him out of his shell (laughs).

You had your doctor here the first week, were you concerned nerves may take over and give your heart trouble again?
Toni: Yeah all those feeling started... I was really nervous about that and started thinking oh my gosh what if my chest gets heavy and I have angina again? He said, "no you are fine. You have medication so have fun." He really gave me the boost I needed and tat extra boost to say this is okay- I can do this.

In a season full of injuries did you manage to make it through unscathed?
Toni: I actually messed up my Achilles tendon in the first rehearsals, I stretched it too hard, so I had to go to like a chiropractor and he fixed it. It took about a week to heal. This is not easy. But they have a great medical team here.
Alec: That is the thing, as a performer she would never dwell on it, because you want to put it out of your mind.

Who impressed you throughout the competition?
Toni : Sapp himself! He's very light on his feet and was really good- he is the one to watch. And of course Cloris - I love her and am a huge fan.
Alec: I think she brings a spark to the show and anyone that can lift her leg on the judges desk - right in front of Bruno!

Will you incorporate all of what you learned here into your next show?
Toni: I will incorporate all of it - all of it! I will be doing dance routines right on stage in the middle of my shows - all ballroom inspired - absolutely.

An interesting article:

‘Dancing’ Pros Critical Of Cheryl Burke, Lacey Schwimmer’s Weight

“Dancing With the Stars” professional Cheryl Burke is facing new criticism over her weight and it’s not from bloggers, but from her fellow pros.

”[People] look at this show to be inspired and think, ‘If I just work hard enough, I can look like that,” Louis Van Amstel, who in “DWTS” Season 6 was paired with Priscilla Presley, told the new issue of TV Guide. “If they watch someone who’s dancing her butt off and she’s still heavy, they can be discouraged. You have to take that responsibility.”

Louis and fellow professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy spoke out about Cheryl’s weight and that of “Dancing” newcomer Lacey Schwimmer in the mag’s new issue.

Maks, who was forced to leave “DWTS” earlier this season when his partner, Misty May-Treanor, tore her Achilles tendon, said he asked the women to take stock of their figures at the start of the season.

“When I first saw these women this season, I said, ‘Guys, you know the camera adds 10 pounds,’” Maks recounted. “‘You have to do something about this.’”

Cheryl attributed her weight gain to having fun over the summer, and Lacey said she isn’t yet “back to” her “old self” following a December 2007 knee surgery.

Louis, however, said the weight gain happened because there was no “DWTS” jaunt over the summer.

“If you want to gain weight, it’s your prerogative,” Louis said. “We all put on weight because there was no summer tour. But you have to deal with the consequences.”

But not everyone has been weight-critical.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Cheryl’s current castmates – including leaderboard champ Brooke Burke, recently leapt to her defense after bloggers singled the two-time “DWTS” champ out.

“I think we have a lot of pressure on us being in Hollywood,” Brooke previously told Access. “Cheryl is an example. I think she is sexy and voluptuous. I have always loved her body as feminine.”

And Cheryl’s celebrity partner Maurice Greene also had encouraging words.

“My family, my boys, everybody was calling her and telling her she looked great and don’t be worrying about that stuff,” he said. “I think she looks great and you know what? As long as she feels good, that’s the only thing that matters really.”
