Julianne Hough's Blog:

Julianne Hough: Cody Finally Focused

Sorry to be late, but my day has been crazed, starting with the usual early morning interviews. Then I was at the Beverly Hills Hotel with Jesse McCartney and Jimmy Kimmel, and we announced the nominees for the American Music Awards. I was happy about the nominees for country. I’m really happy Brad Paisley got a nomination. I’m excited about Sugarland and Brooks and Dunn and Rascal Flatts. Rascal Flatts deserved to be on there for a lot of years, and I'm a label mate with Sugarland.

Also Taylor Swift is up for female artist, which is great. She skyrocketed in the last couple years. I’m going to send her a congratulatory text. I think Jordan Sparks was also nominated, which is awesome. I met Jordan in the bathroom at CBS when she was on American Idol and I was on the first season of Dancing. We tape in neighboring studios. It’s funny we got to know each other in the bathroom.

Anyway, about last night's Dancing With The Stars. I thought Cody was awesome. It was cool to see the judges liked what he did. It was funny. Do you really think I came up with the idea of calling his school principal? It was definitely the show’s. But it worked! He focused a lot better. It’s like I can drag a horse to water, but I can’t make it drink. I can push him and try to make him focus, but in the end he has to do it. And I think this week he did it. I can tell he wants to break out of the middle of the pack and start getting further up the standings.

I thought it was great. I thought the scores were good. In general, I thought it was an interesting show last night. Cloris was amazing. She’s known for her crazy, quirky things, but she surprised everyone with her graceful movements, and she stepped into the character like nobody’s business.

She came off stage and asked me what I thought of her technique. She really cared, and it was cute.

A lot of people have said I’m pushing Cody harder than my other partners in the past and I’m treating him like he’s a little kid. But I kind of have to. Honestly, if I didn’t care I’d let him goof off because it’s taking double my energy just to get his attention. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t do it. But I totally care. I think he has a ton more potential than people are seeing, so I’m constantly saying, “Come on, Cody.”

That’s why I’m hard on him. I think he’s great. I’ve been really happy with him, and we’ve had a lot of fun. He’s brought out my fun side, too. We’ll be relaxed in rehearsal. I have to keep remembering this is a TV show and it’s supposed to be fun. I’ve always said if we aren’t having fun, there’s no point in doing it anymore. I know the week before it wasn’t that fun – he was frustrated with himself and I was frustrated that he wasn’t paying attention. I finally had to tell him this is supposed to be fun. Just focus for two hours and we can go home. So he did – and he was awesome.

I was falling out of my costume a little bit. It was worse in dress rehearsal. It looked like I had four boobs because my boob cubs were on my stomach. I’m glad that didn’t happen on the show. For those who want to know, we pick out our costumes. And sometimes when we see them, they’re a little different than we originally planned, they might have a little less fabric. But you go with it. The women who make those costumes every week are unsung heroes. They work morning, noon and night nonstop, sewing one individual rhinestone at a time. They’re incredible.

I know a bunch of you want to know what all of say and do after our routines. Well, my brother and Corky always have something to say. Last night, everyone was so complimentary and telling Cody it was his best dance so far. Oh, at the very end of last night’s dance, I was doing a little handstand thing. I got too high and almost fell forward. I did an extra little kick. Apparently backstage everyone was WHOA, is she going to fall over? I was freaked. Cloris is funny. But Warren and Maurice together, they are the true comedians of the show. You don’t see it at home, but they are hilarious. We’re on the floor laughing backstage. Brooke is having a blast, and I think Toni is getting kind of competitive in a fun way.

Hey, my Christmas album comes out today in Target. When I think of Christmas music, I think of it playing in the background while we’re wrapping presents, cooking dinner or getting ready to go snow boarding, and that’s the kind of album I wanted to make when I was picking the songs. I think it worked out great. My mom heard it for the first time last night and she was excited. That was a nice note of approval. Check it out for yourself. I’m thinking and hope that with all this music of mine out maybe next year I can perform on the American Music Awards. Who knows.

Talk to you tomorrow.

An interesting article:

Backstage Report: Is Cloris About to Gain a Big Advantage?

On Monday night's Dancing with the Stars, Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman finally got her props.

Make no mistake, she always gets respect from the crowd: She's the only dancer who gets a standing ovation from the 300-plus fans in the studio audience every single time she hits the dance floor. But for the fourth week of competition, the judges finally coughed up their first "7s," and an "8," for her tango.

"We went from a total score of '16' to a '22' tonight, and that's huge," says Corky Ballas, who was wondering if the judges would ever look at his 82-year-old partner as something more than comic relief. The thing is, Leachman is forging completely new territory. Senior citizens on this show – whether it be George Hamilton, Jerry Springer or John Ratzenberger – have never been expected to really pull off the dances.

But Leachman is actually learning the steps, and performing many of them to an astonishing degree. "When I'm 82 years old, if I can get half of what she gets done, it would be wonderful," says her competitor, NFL bruiser Warren Sapp. Says another competitor, Olympian Maurice Greene, "She's doing stuff out there that most other people wouldn't even try."

Leachman may tweak the judges on air, tell them their scores are ridiculous and call the judges themselves "prejudiced." But behind the scenes, her real attitude is that she should be judged just as harshly as any 20-year-old. "If you're going to enter a competition," she says, "you have to play by the rules. This isn't golf. I don't expect any special dispensation. I think their scores are pretty on target."

But here's the kicker: Next week, one of the four new dances being introduced on the show is the jitterbug. If she's lucky enough to be assigned to that dance, it will be familiar: Leachman did the jitterbug 67 years ago, when she was in high school. "We called it the Roosevelt Hop," she says.

An interesting article:

Monday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

Rocco Not Dispirited: Not even another round of low scores–and catty judges’ comments–could sink the spirits of Rocco DiSpirito. “My mother told me to shake what she had given me, and I shook it,” DiSpirito said, laughing about his mother’s rehearsal visit. “Maybe not in time, or to the beat of the music, but I shook it all at some point.” In fact, DiSpirito made sure to point out what was truly important in his samba–his pink ruffled sleeves. “I’m pretty sure that hot-pink chiffon ruffles, twelve on each arm, speak for themselves,” said the hunky chef.

Unfortunately, the sleeves spoke more than the dance itself, and judge Bruno Tonioli blasted that his accountant could do a better samba. “Bruno’s accountant must be a hot dancer, but I’m not worried about the number-cruncher,” DiSpirito chuckled half-heartedly after the show. “I want to have a dance-off with Bruno. We’ll see who looks better in pink ruffles, once and for all.”

Cloris’s Great Leap Forward: Cloris Leachman’s tango with technique had all three judges rallying behind her. “It was a thrill to have the judges give us the scores that they did,” the 82-year-old actress said, “but I was hoping to get the eight, eight, eight. I thought that Corky and I deserved it.” Ballas was just happy to finally get on the judges’ good side, but he pointed out afterward that his partner got away with a lift that escaped the judges’ eyes. “At one point,” Ballas said, “I had her leg three inches off the ground.” Leachman could only laugh, saying of Ballas and their high leg kick: “He puts my leg where he wants it. It wasn’t just my leg, my whole body was three inches off the floor, but you didn’t see it because of my dress.”

She Comes Out Swinging: Susan Lucci channeled her soap opera persona Erica Kane in a dazzling tango that had Bruno gushing she was a “tough broad,” while Carrrie Ann Inaba equated the dance to “moving art.” Lucci later said of the pair’s dramatic tango slap, “It did come pretty easy to me, because I’ve done my fair share of fake slapping.” But it turns out Lucci had to take a bit off of her accustomed swing. “This wasn’t meant to be a knock-out punch,” the soap star said. “For the sake of the dance, I had to reel in the wind-up.”

Call Him Sir Dance-A-Lot: Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer went back to what they knew best, delivering a feisty tango that garnered the couple their highest scores to date and had Goodman dubbing him “Sir Dance-A-Lot.” “That was the reaction we were going for this whole competition,” Bass said. “It starts to get discouraging when you work your butt off all week, and you think you did great, and the judges just tear you down. This week, the pain finally paid off, and now we’re motivated even more.” But Bass knows he needs to back up the performance with another stellar dance next week if he’s around. “I have a lot to prove before I can accept that as a nickname,” the singer said. “I don’t see myself getting any Sir Dance-A-Lot vanity plates any time soon.”

Focus, Cody, Focus: America’s DWTS sweetheart, Julianne Hough, and Hannah Montana star Cody Linley’s tango was well received by the judges, but the show’s youngest competitor had to hunker down and focus. “It’s really tough,” Linley said of doing the same moves for seven hours a day. “The hardest part is the frustration of knowing exactly what your body is supposed to do, but not being able to get your body to get that movement. It’s frustrating to me, but I know it’s more frustrating for Julianne because she can do it so easily.”

Of his impromptu chat with his principal, Linley said: “It was good to get a call from her, and be able to talk to her, because she really did help me to remember why I’m here and what I’m trying to accomplish.” But when faced with the question of who was the tougher task mistress of the two, Cody was quick to offer an answer: “Julianne, by far, because she can really crack the whip. No offense to Ms, Ingram, and she knows that I love her, but when it’s all said and done, I would rather dance with Julianne every day than dance with my high school principal.”

Well, my expectations were met in tonight's results show. The public voted off Rocco/Karina with the alternate team left inthe final 2 being Cloris Corky. This was fair in my estimation because for the first time in the competition Cloris actually danced well and had 22 vs. Rocco's 16. She rolls on for another week.

An interesting article:

Senior editors Matt Webb Mitovich and Mickey O'Connor answer your questions.

On Dancing with the Stars, are the celebrities paid for participating? Are the pros? Do either get paid more the further they advance? - Barb

Mickey: Barb, how dare you taint the pleasure that is Dancing with the Stars by suggesting that it's a commercial enterprise! Obviously, the celebrities' only motivation is their sincere love of the dance… and publicity. Also: Yes, they are totally paid! A source close to the production tells me that both the pros and celebs receive a weekly stipend. (Aside: Celebs are paid several times what the pros get. Discuss.) The catch: Once you're eliminated, the paydays cease. Harsh, right?

ABC Television Network
PRESS RELEASE

OVERNIGHT ABC RATINGS (FOR 10/14)

Quick Take for Tuesday, October 14, 2008

"Dancing with the Stars Results" Takes Second at 9pm in Viewers and Women 18-49, While Leading its Time Period in Women 25-54 for the Third Consecutive Week

Sophomore Debut of ABC's "Eli Stone" Draws Largest Audience for a Regular Telecast Since February and Best Adults 18-49 Rating Since March

"Dancing with the Stars Results " (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Jumping from its lead-in by 9.1 million viewers and by 146% in Adults 18-49, ABC's "Dancing with the Stars Results" took second in the 9 o'clock hour in Total Viewers (14.4 million) and Women 18-49 (4.3/10).  The show won its time period among Women 25-54 (5.7/12) for the 3rd consecutive telecast.  "DWTS Results" outperformed its unscripted competition in the time period, NBC's second hour of "The Biggest Loser: Families," by 6.7 million viewers ("Loser" = 7.7 million).  Additionally, the broad-appealing "DWTS" stood as Tuesday's highest-rated broadcast program with Kids 2-11 (1.6/7).  Celebrity chef, author and reality television star Rocco DiSpirito was the fourth dancer to leave the competition this season.

"Eli Stone" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
The sophomore season premiere of "Eli Stone" drew the show's largest audience (8.8 million) for a regular telecast since February (since 2/07/08) and highest Adults 18-49 rating (2.2/6) since March (since 3/20/08).

* Compared to where it left off last season, "Eli Stone" was up by 2.7 million viewers and by 10% in Adults 18-49 over its season finale (6.1 million & 2.0/6 in Adults 18-49 on 4/17/08).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 28% currently, from 20% at the same point in 2007. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

An interesting article an interview with Rocco and Karina:

"I will find that musical bone somewhere"

Did you know it'd be your night to go?
Rocco: We had a good feeling. Our scores were the lowest and we knew we were out last week. It wasn't subtle. But you always hope somehow a miracle will happen. I told myself, "If we are out this week, it's still been a great time." And I feel good that Karina is off the hook because teaching me how to dance — what she went through — no human being should go through that.
Karina: Oh he was really good. You don't see everything behind the scenes, but there was only one moment in all the weeks where we needed a moment.
Rocco: Oh I remember that, and it was all your fault [laughs].
Karina: But when you spend 8 to 12 hours with someone, that says a lot.

Overall, was this a good experience for you both?
Karina: Honestly, it was a lot of fun. He's witty, charming, adorable and very intelligent, so we were laughing the first seven weeks nonstop.
Rocco: Maybe that was our problem — too much laughing and not enough dancing.

Did you feel Bruno's comment about not having a musical bone in your body was unfair?
Karina: I think he was just giving us the heads-up that we were going home. Bruno is not a mean guy, and while he speaks his mind, that is his job. Ours is to take those comments and use them in the studio.
Rocco: But for me, there is no reason to stop trying to learn because I will find that musical bone somewhere, someday — I know it!

What will you miss most about the show?
Rocco: This whole thing has been a gift — the opportunity to learn how to dance from one of the world's greatest dancers. Maybe she will take pity on me and visit me in New York someday. And having the opportunity to perform for fans. I underestimated how good that would feel. I didn't expect the outpouring of support on the blogs and the Facebook responses, so thank you to all f the fans very much, I really appreciate it. I can't honor it with dancing, but I can with cooking, and I will get back to cooking straightaway.
Karina: I think you should get back to it right now, as I am so hungry!
Rocco: But I'll keep dancing. I have to honor all the effort Karina made. I thought I was a dancer before and I have no idea how I'm going to do it on the disco floor now.

What are you going to take away from the experience?
Rocco: I learned that even though it may not have looked as good as I'd hoped on the dance floor, you can learn anything you put your mind to. Oh, and that you shouldn't underestimate the power of good friends, fans and having lots positive energy in your life. It's really powerful.

An interesting article:

Tuesday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

Back to Trash Talking: Cloris Leachman staved off elimination for yet another week. But the 82-year-old Academy award-winning actress professed to never panicking about a possible ouster. “I wasn’t worried,” Leachman said with a relaxed cackle. “Maybe I’ll faint, but I wasn’t concerned. One part is your brain and the other is just your body, and as you might have seen from some of my dances, mine aren’t connected.” In fact, Leachman offered this warning to the producers: “They joked about me costing the show money (referring to the spoof Dancing campaign ads that ran during last night’s show), and I will cost this show money if they throw me off. I’ll come back and trash the set if they send me home.”

Devil in a Blue Ballroom Dress? Now that Rocco DiSpirito is off Dancing, he has to pay up. The chef admitted to selling his soul to the Ukrainian devil, namely his dance partner Karina Smirnoff. “There are a lot of things that she has to collect on now that we’re off the show,” DiSpirito later admitted. “I may have been under the influence when I made these promises, but what I remember is, I promised her a house in the South of France, two pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes and a bunch of other things, all of which I offered to her as a bribe to make the choreography easier for me.” DiSpirito reasons: “It seemed like a good idea at the time. We were negotiating easier steps and choreography, and I would be like, ‘How many pairs of shoes would it take for you to make this easier for me?’ But, to be fair to myself, I did later qualify the house in France as a rental.”

More from Inside the Ballroom:
• Tuesday’s performance by a troupe of shirtless Barcelona flamenco dancers had its share of Dancing fans. From her perch on the balcony, host Samantha Harris let out some appreciative yells, as she bobbed her head in time with the music. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba let out her fair share of appreciative catcalls, raising her arms in the air when the dancers ripped off their jackets.

• The stodgy, but ever game Len Goodman was able to chuckle at himself when a male fan stood up and professed to have a “man crush’ on the sharp-tongued British judge during a commercial break. Always a good sport, Goodman gave his gushing fan a wave and a thumbs-up sign before signing a DWTS T-shirt for the audience member.

• During Warren Sapp’s spoof campaign ad video, which made the claim that the self-professed “fat boy” was in fact, wearing a fat suit, Sapp doubled over with laughter.

Julianne Hough Blogs again:

Julianne Hough: "I'm Going To The Dogs"

Welcome to the glamorous life. It’s 6:30 in the morning and my mom is sitting on my bed. And I had to peel Lexi off my face.

I’m going to the dogs – literally. I have two now, though hopefully that’s temporary. There’s my little dog Lexi, and now I have another one named Toby. Shannon Elizabeth rescued Toby in New Orleans where she’s been filming a movie, she brought him home, and somehow he ended up with me.

You can see them in the picture I took last night before I went to bed They seem to like to sleep nuzzled up together. :) How cute are they? Toby’s kind of a mix – he’s gray and white, and he has a Chihuahua face but a Jack Russell body To me, they’re like Lady and the Tramp. I would keep him if I could. He's such a sweet dog, and he cuddles right up to you... :)

But I can't take care of two dogs :(

So I’m looking for a home for him. If anyone wants a cute 9-week-old dog…

To be honest, I was a little nervous Cody and I might be voted off last night. You never know. I thought Rocco had a strong following and might stick around, and I’ve always thought Cloris was going to make it pretty far, too. It’s one of those things that’s impossible to predict, and yeah, you do get nervous standing there.

As they said, we have four new dances next week: the Hustle, the Jitterbug, the Salsa and the West Coast Swing. Cody and I are going to be doing the Jitterbug. What’s funny about it is that the Jitterbjug is – and I don’t want to offend anyone – but it’s kind of an old person’s dance. You dance side by side. It’s not that exciting.

But I’m pretty much going to make up something special. They gave us the music right after the show and instead of doing the press line, I ran upstairs, listened to the music, then went to wardrobe and designed the costumes. You’ll see there’s an obvious, sort of predictable way I could’ve gone, but I chose to go another way.

You never know what people will think or how it will turn out. Some of you have asked if I have any favorite dances from over the DWTS seasons. I immediately think of the Samba with Apolo. I loved that. I also loved my Quick Step with Helio. I loved the first Fox Trot with Helio, too. Oh, one of my last dances with Apolo was the Quick Step, which I loved. Also the Paso with Adam on the unicycle; that’s going down in Dancing history.

And this season…I loved the Cha-Cha

People were talking about Len’s criticism of Brooke and my brother, that he thought their dance was too erotic. Hey, it’s supposed to be fun. They audience in the studio booed. Afterward, I told Brooke not to worry. I also reminded her when Apolo and I did our Cha-Cha, Len said it was too raunchy, yet we got two 9s and a 10.

Anyway, it’s going to be interesting to see what the pros come up with next week. I’m really curious.

Some of you have written in asking when my video is coming out. I don’t know. I’m going to check. Also, a few of you remembered that I’m performing “My Hallelujah Song” on next week’s result show. Thanks for your kind wishes – and yes, I’m excited about performing it. I’m a little nervous too. It’s live TV!

Now I’m going to rest up a little before going to rehearsals. I’m going to try to take it a little easier this week and make sure my voice is strong for next week.

I’ll also finish up the stories behind the songs on my album. And if you get my Christmas album, let me know what you think.

They dance the samba and talk to his mother, who was in the audience.

I loved the above clip. Karina is so good that rather than using standard dance shoes she appeared to dance teh samba on the View in stilettos and she still was totally smooth. Rocco is really a decent human being (not obvious from watching him when he appeared in Top Chef episodes). His 2 week total judges' scores was the same as you-know-who, but her senior citizen fan base has kept Cloris rolling along.

Brooke Burke’s Fiancé David Charvet Almost Her Dancing Rival

This season of Dancing with the Stars almost had one heck of a ballroom match-up — between Brooke Burke and her fiancé David Charvet!

“The show actually asked me to come on this season and compete against her,” Charvet told PEOPLE. “But I couldn’t because I was shooting a movie.”

Work obligations aside, it seems Charvet isn’t so sure he has what it takes to go through the ballroom grind. “I think it would have been fun,” says the former Baywatch actor, “but when I see what [Brooke] has to go through every day, and how nerve-racking it is, I don’t know if I could do it.”

As for Burke, the notion of facing off against her beau on the parquet is an appealing proposition. “I’d love to see him pour himself into it on the eight-hour-day commitment,” she says. “David’s got rhythm and he loves music, and I think he would do really well.”

It would have been fitting: The couple first met on the dance floor at a charity event in Mexico. ‘It was really romantic,” says Charvet. “We saw each other from across the way, there was a dance floor set up on the beach and we just hit it off.”

If the couple actually went toe-to-toe on the parquet, Burke, this season’s front-runner, has no doubt what the eventual outcome of their dance-off would be. “At first I thought that it would be really cool, a great twist for the show,” says Burke, adding with a grin, “But now, I actually think that it’s a good thing that he didn’t [join the show], because he wouldn’t have won this season.”

A blurb in tv guide:

It's time to shake things up in the ballroom! Tonight, four new dances will be introduced to this competition: the hustle, the salsa, the jitterbug and West Coast swing. Unfortunately for the recently ousted Rocco DiSpirito, the only way he'll get to experience salsa is if he prepares some as an appetizing dip. And based on how well (or poorly) the celebs tackle this evening's new challenging dances, one of them will be following in the chef's footsteps tomorrow night.

An interesting article:

BACKSTAGE AT 'DANCING'

LIKE the Wizard of Oz, "Dancing with the Stars" would prefer if you paid no attention to that man behind the curtain.

But - especially on a show where amateurs are pushed to perform like professionals - that's where you'll see all the stress and strain.

We talked to two "Dancing" contenders - former NFL star Warren Sapp and ex-'N Sync singer Lance Bass - about what's goes on back there . . . before the band starts to play.

Some fans have complained that they felt manipulated by the producers in how they handled Misty May-Treanor's ankle injury, not revealing she wouldn't be coming back until the live show several days later. Do you agree?

Lance Bass: TV is entertainment, and the producers are going to produce the crap out of this show. When Misty May got hurt, I'm pretty sure the producers knew she was out for the season, but of course they didn't want to give that away.

They wait until it's live on TV. You really don't want to ruin the moment.

What do the people who run the show tell you the first day?

Warren Sapp: I knew right away they were serious. We had these meetings where they were explaining how things were going to go.

But they were all Brits. I couldn't understand a lot of the stuff they were saying because of their accents.

Did you get to pick your dancing partner?

LB: I don't know how they partner us. We definitely don't get a say-so; they want it to be a surprise the first day.

I think they chose Lacey [Schwimmer] for me because she's the new kid on the show. I think it's more interesting for me to be [partnered] with her.

What did your partner, Kym Johnson, say the first time you rehearsed together?

WS: "Holy smokes! What the hell am I going to do with a 300-pound monster?"

What's a typical performance day like?

WS: We all get there around noon for lunch. You have the girls getting their makeup done, everyone is having conversations, joking and laughing.

Cloris [Leachman] is digging into my food while I tease Cody Linley about wishing I was back in high school. It's crazier than any locker room I've ever been in.

What's the difference between rehearsing with just your partner and then going on live TV?

LB: It's night and day from the rehearsals to the stage. It's a much bigger feel on TV.

It's crazy, the first time you do the dance, you do it with a live band. I'm not used to that, and it kind of throws you. It's also the energy the crowd gives you-to know that 20 million people are watching can really freak you out if you think too much.

I'm so much better on the show than I am in rehearsal. It's weird, I'll do dances some weeks that I never get right all week long. Then I get on live TV, and it will be perfect. Your brain makes you go there.

Are you encouraged to disagree or get angry with the judges?

WS: It's been very humbling for me. I mean, what can I say? These people are professionals. When they offer constructive criticism, I take it and use it. I think they're very fair.

If you don't win, who's the favorite?

LB: I'm a huge fan of reality TV and me and my assistant actually bet on every reality show. And we did that with this show.

Right now I have Brooke [Burke] and Cody as my top two, and my assistant has Warren and Toni Braxton.

So I'm pulling for Brooke and Cody.

Dancing’s Brooke Burke Taken to Hospital

Dancing With the Stars contestant Brooke Burke injured her foot, an ABC spokesperson confirms to PEOPLE.

Burke, who was performing the jitterbug with partner Derek Hough during a camera blocking rehearsal Sunday afternoon, came down hard on her right foot while doing a front flip in the high-energy routine. She immediately applied ice to her foot to reduce swelling.

As a precaution, Burke was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Monday morning for further examination and X-rays. It was determined she has a severe bruise.

“She’s a little sore, but she rehearsed today and she feels ready to dance tonight,” an ABC spokesperson tells PEOPLE.

Burke’s foot injury is the third to occur this season on Dancing. Two weeks ago, Olympic volleyball star Misty May-Treanor ruptured her Achilles tendon and was forced to withdraw from the competition. During the first week of the competition, comedian Jeffrey Ross suffered a corneal abrasion when his partner Edyta Slwinska’s hand grazed his eye.

Eight celebrity dancers remain in the competition, which airs Monday (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
