I was watching the Red Sox-Angels tonight, but I've heard Cloris enlisted several more senior citizens groups. I'll have to catch Cloris' performance later.

Cloris was her usual self, termed wacky by Bruno and getting her usual low scores. I think she will finally be eliminated tonight, as the judges' score gap between her and the bottom of the rest of the pack(Rocco this week) has widened to 4 marks. I hope that the American public has had enough of her mediocre dancing skills. She is no longer funny; now she is ludicrous. It's past time for her to go.

An interesting article:

Backstage Report: Misty May Return to Dancing

It felt, she said, "like someone had hit the back of my foot with a baseball bat." Misty May-Treanor's tenure on Dancing with the Stars came to a sudden and stunning end Friday after she ruptured her Achilles tendon rehearsing the jive. "I heard this 'pop' and then when I tried to put weight on my left foot, there was nothing there," says May-Treanor. "My foot didn't feel like it was even attached."

But the two-time Olympic beach volleyball champion's Dancing days are not necessarily over for good. Setside sources tell TV Guide that the door is wide open for May-Treanor to return to the parquet at a future date. "I hope I get another shot," she says. Given that she'll need almost a year to recoup, that could bring her back next year, perhaps for Season 9.

If that happens, her partner is ready to sign her dance card again. "I can't say anything, and I don't know what they're doing," says Maksim Chmerkovkiy. "But if it's true, there's nothing in the world that would stop me from coming back to dance with her."

Chmerkovskiy was of course on hand when May-Treanor's Achilles tendon gave in. "I heard the pop," he says. "You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to know that this was bad."

Even a world-class athlete can be reduced to tears when an injury is that severe. "I cried for about three minutes when we were putting ice on it, and then again at the hospital," says May-Treanor, "because I didn't want to let people down. I felt so bad for Maks, who had put so much time into my training."

For the next few hours, May-Treanor endured excruciating pain and the realization that her Dancing run was over. "I was so bummed because I thought we were gonna kill it in the jive on Monday," she says. "This was going to be our breakthrough week."

That sentiment was echoed by Spice Girl Mel B., who had stopped by Misty and Maks' rehearsal studio earlier in the week to help Misty break out of her shell. "Everybody says I always dance with my game face on," says May-Treanor, "and that I don't look like I'm having fun." So Mel B. put Maks in a clown suit and painted a clown face on him, and the two women laughed at him for the rest of the rehearsal. "She had the dance down for sure," says Mel B. "She just needed to let go and laugh."

But on Friday night, rehearsing in the tennis shoes that would become part of her jive costume, the left shoe stuck on the ballroom floor and the tendon gave way. "Usually, when I hurt myself, it's just, 'Tape me up, coach. I'm ready to go back in.'"

Not this time. May-Treanor will go into surgery Tuesday in Orange County, and is facing nine long months of physical rehabilitation. "I've been talking about taking some time off," she says. "Now, I have to."

May-Treanor says the Long Beach home she shares with her husband, Florida Marlins catcher Matt Treanor, has become a haven for the walking wounded. "My husband just had an operation for a sports hernia last week," she shares, "so new we're both out of commission."

I agree that it is time for Cloris to go.  I was wondering......with Misty having to pull out of the competition   :'(   ........will the show decide not to send anyone home this week.  If another couple is eliminated that would make two this week.......might throw off their schedule     :duno:

So the "Results Show" came up with a non-result. Some recognized that having an elimination in addition to the withdrawal of Misty and Saks would play havoc with the ABC schedule. So it should be no surprise that no team was eliminated tonight. This week's scores will be consolidated with next week's. The lowest vote went to Rocco/Karina but I hope that Cloris is the one eliminated next week(she was safe tonight).

Julianne Hough's Blog From Earlier Today:

Julianne Hough: Dancing With Derek

I just got out of rehearsal. Jennifer Hudson is performing tonight on the results show, and Derek and I are performing to it. The other day he was so cute. We were practicing for it and he started walking away. He turned around and said, “Hey Julianne.” I said, “What?” He said, “I love dancing with you.” I was like ohhhhh. I got a tear.

Derek and I have such a great connection when we dance. Everything’s in synch and it feels comfortable and natural. I think I was seven or eight years old the first time we danced together. We didn't do it often. I remember dancing at my sister’s wedding. And my dad’s. I'm trying to remember. Hmmm. We never competed together or partnered on any shows until we were on DWTS and then they seemed to have us dance together quite often, which is fun.

It really is. Both of us boss each other around. I’ll tell him that he needs to lead me into the right position and he’ll tell me I’m going too fast. In our rehearsals, there’s always back and forth. Then we fix it and go, “That was awesome.” We both have moments where we’re a little bossy. He freaks out a little bit more, but we’re both a little Type A personality. I love him. Tonight's performance is going to be really fun. Rehearsal was great.

While we’re on the topic, let me respond to Charlie, who wrote into Fancast the other day to say his six year old daughter has her first crush on Derek. My response? Ahhhhhh. She has good taste. Charlie wanted to know if there’s any chance Derek and I will be performing “Dreaming Under the Same Moon.” I don’t think so. I’m just going to be performing “My Hallelujah Song.”

But get this. Derek and his band – the one he has with Mark Ballas – just got signed to Hollywood Records, so they’re going to be working on their album and maybe next season he’ll be performing on the show. For everyone who doesn’t know, Mark and Derek are in a band and were in a band for seven years and before that all three of us were in a little pop group. So they just got signed. They’re more like an alternative kind of rock band. It’s very cool. I’m so proud of him.

After last night's show, a lot of people have asked if I cut my hair. No, I haven’t cut it. Last night’s wig was so good it looked like my real hair. It was exactly like my hair color. I actually had that kind of short hair when I was 15 and in dance competitions. In competitions, I’d dance against 30 year old women and I didn’t want to look like a little girl, so I cut my hair and it made me look a little older. But I’ve been growing it out ever since. I’m definitely keeping it long – though who can keep track what my real hair looks like since it’s all about extensions.

Cody and I were at Miley Cyrus’ birthday party on Sunday and signing autographs for some of the fans. I turned around and somebody grabbed my hair. I was like, “No, don’t pull on that. It will come out. You really will take my hair because it’s all fake.” My real hair – I look like I have a mullet. It’s hilarious.

As for last night's performance, those judges annoy me sometimes. That's all I'm going to say. You see other couples sometimes and they do well and then you look at your partner who also did well, maybe even better than some, but the judges are so picky and they were last night when it came to our performance. I thought Cody was really focused last night on trying to be polished and full of finesse and in control, which was their biggest complain the past couple of weeks. In fact, he was so focused he kind of forgot what he was doing and started to count. But he started out really strong and overall I was so impressed and happy for him. Especially considering how busy the last couple of days were for us. I think he has more talent than he realizes.

Before I go take Lexi out for a walk, let me answer a couple more questions from you guys.

Jess wanted to know when my new video will premiere. I just looked at the rough cut again. It should be out in the next week or so.

Bev wondered if I stiffen up if I’m not dancing or working out all the time. I haven’t been working out as much as I should because I’ve been so busy. It’s hard to find even an hour to work out, which isn’t good. I can tell when I’m not fully in shape.

Sunia wants to know if I’m going on the DWTS tour this year. I may go out on a couple of dates, but I’m also going to be writing for my next album and I have the Christmas album for Target that comes out October 14, and I’ll be promoting that. I’m going to light the tree at Rockefeller Center and do a bunch of Christmas stuff this winter. Ocne January comes around, I’ll be touring on my own. So it’s busy.

OK everyone. Thanks for checking in on this blog. I can't wait for you to see the video to "My Hallelujah Song." And let me know what you think of tonight's show.

An update on Misty:

Misty May-Treanor is home and resting following a successful surgery to repair her Achilles tendon earlier today.

On Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” Misty confirmed that an injury she suffered last Friday during a rehearsal with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy was taking her out of the competition and sending her under the knife.

And early this afternoon, Misty’s rep told Access the volleyball star’s surgery was a success.

“The surgery on Misty’s ruptured Achilles this morning was a success and she is currently at home recovering,” the rep said in a statement to Access. “Her husband, Matt Treanor, is with her.”

Misty injured herself, tearing her Achilles tendon, while practicing the Lindy Hop, a dance she was looking forward to performing in front of the “Dancing” audience in sneakers.

“I was doing the Lindy Hop, finishing up, heard a pop over here… It felt like I got hit in the back with a baseball bat,” she told “Dancing” host Tom Bergeron on Monday night’s show. “Then I just couldn’t put weight on it.”

A true team player, Misty apologized to fans for her injury taking her partner, the ladies’ favorite Maks, out of the competition.

“First off, I think all the women are going to be upset with me because he was only on the show for this amount of time,” Misty said. “I couldn’t have picked a better partner to be with. He’s taught me so much… He’s such an awesome dancer and I learned the best moves from him… He’s a very sensitive, caring guy and I feel like the world needs more Maksims.”  :hearts:

An interesting article on Derek Hough:

Derek Hough: I’m Living with Shannon at Her House

Derek Hough rumbled with his current partner Brooke Burke on last night’s Dancing with the Stars, but on the home front things are better than ever for the pro and his former Dancing partner Shannon Elizabeth.

“Mark and I have an apartment, and I’m supposed to be living there,” Hough told PEOPLE, “but I live with Shannon at her house, and our three [Almost Amy] bandmates live with Shannon and I.”

The actress’ Hollywood Hills home may have turned into a temporary crash pad for Hough and pal Mark Ballas’s band, but it seems Elizabeth wouldn’t have it any other way. “She was like, ‘They can stay here until they find a new place,’” said Hough. “And, once they started talking about finding a new place, Shannon and I were like, ‘Wait, we’re going to miss them when they go.’ And we were like, ‘Why don’t you just stay here? We’ll make rooms up for everyone.’”

In fact, Elizabeth has gone out of her way to make the band feel at home. “Shannon’s rooms are so cluttered, but she’s actually been de-junking all of her rooms so that each of them can have their own room,” he said.

Hough admitted living with his girlfriend, three band mates and four dogs is “kind of crazy,” but if he needs his “own space” there always the apartment he still shares with Ballas. But there hasn’t been that need: “Shannon’s just been really, really helpful at giving us all our own space. She’s just been so great,” he said.

An interesting article on Cloris:

82-year-old Cloris Leachman has plenty on dance card

She’s older than the mambo, but 82-year-old Oscar-winning actress Cloris Leachman still has all the right moves.

Leachman, an award-winning veteran of stage and screen, has become a fan favorite on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” airing tonight at 8 on WCVB (Ch. 5). She leaves her younger competitors speechless during the live broadcasts with her quick wit.

“I go with the flow because I don’t know what I’m going to do, either. I’m not trying to be unusual,” said the acclaimed actress who has won nine Emmys for her work on such sitcoms as “Mary Tyler Moore” and “Malcolm in the Middle.”

And to think, the first time Leachman approached executives about doing the show, they told her she was too old.

Leachman was persistent and convinced “Dancing” producers she was prepared for the marathon training sessions at a unique meeting.

“I don’t know why, but out of my mouth kept coming swear words. I’m not in charge of it,” Leachman said. “I got up to leave . . . then I said, ‘No one is leaving this place until everyone says a swear word.’ ”

Her kooky charm worked. A grueling audition and six doctors later, Leachman made the cut.

The grandmother of five has outlasted 27-year-old reality TV sexpot Kim Kardashian, actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross.

Leachman said she has no fear going into tonight’s competition with partner Corky Ballas.

“Either I’ll do well or I won’t do well. In either case, it’s human,” she said. “I’m not afraid. I feel protected and loved and cared for, and we are all the same. I’m just like the people in the audience. It’s just fun to do.”

If her curtain call comes tomorrow, Leachman said she already has projects up her sleeve.

“I have several choices in two different areas. One is I’ll either do ‘American Idol’ or ‘America’s Got Talent,’ or I’ll get pregnant in January and clone myself so the two babies can play with each other, or I may just go out on a cruise or I may take some lessons,” she said with dead-pan delivery.

Julianne's latest blog:

Julianne Hough Gets Behind Her Music

First the news: Last night I had my hair back and Cody and I moved on. Hopefully the judges won't be so harsh on Cody next week.

I want to say thanks to Nicole, Kristin, Jess, Jon and the rest of you who wrote in to say you enjoyed watching me dance with my brother. Nicole called it "amazing," and I agree in the sense that it's always an amazing opportunity for me when I get to dance with my brother. I love it.

Derek's not one to hand out compliments easily, especially to his sister, but backstage, after we finished, he told me how much fun he had - and I felt the same way. We appreciated how much everyone seemed to enjoy the performance. I have to tell you, I'm glad the trip across the judge's table worked out. I slipped off a few times during rehearsal. It was scary. But I'm delighted with the way it turned out.

I'm also real happy that many of you have written in to say you like my music, so I thought I'd take you behind some of my music

In previous posts, I talked about performers who've inspired me, but I don't think I mentioned that I always wanted to sing and be a country artist. Starting when I was eight, I said to myself by the time I’m 19 I’m going to be a country artist. And I recorded my album when I was 19 and released it the same year. I guess if you really want something and put your heart and soul into it it can come true.

When I was living in London, my whole life was dancing. But I really wanted to sing. At 15, I decided I needed to go back to the States so I could pursue my music. Otherwise I’d just dance. So I went back home, finished high school, and then all of this sort of happened. Not too long ago someone asked me if I remember the first song I wrote, and I do since it wasn't that long ago.

It was called 'Daddy’s Little Girl'. I wrote it with my sister. It’s about my dad. He always called me his precious little angel from the day I was born to…well, he still calls me his precious angel. I promised him I’d never grow up, but ironically I was the one in the family who grew up the fastest. So I wrote this song to say that even though I grew up really fast I’m still your little girl.

As for the songs on my album, let me tell you a little bit about some of them:

THAT SONG IN MY HEAD: Everybody’s had that moment when they hear a song and get taken back to a memory. It’s amazing what songs and music can do for people. I remember when I just moved back from London I listened to Maroon 5 and every time I heard She Will Be Loved I think about driving up to the ski slopes where I snowboarded all day long for three weeks straight.

YOU, YOU, YOU: It’s one of my favorite songs. I think it’s a really good performance song live; people can sing along. But I love that feeling of being so vulnerable when you first meet someone; you remember everything about them; you’re so infatuated that you’d be willing to do anything just to let that person know you like them. I want to hold your hand. I’ll water your flowers in the pouring rain…

HIDE YOUR MATCHES: It’s one of the most romantic songs on the album. It’s interesting. To me, everyone sees me as this older girl in this younger body and some see me as thing young girl who hasn’t gone through anything. But I’ve gone through a lot and this song shows the older woman in me. Pretty much if a guy is going to get you riled up or whatever, he better watch out. I’ll go there with him. Don’t get me started.

MY HALLELUJAH SONG: I wrote about this the other day. But this is really about how my life is now. I feel blessed. Everybody has had their own hallelujah songs in life and I hope people will hear this song and feel lifted up. I think right now people need a positive song, and this is one of ‘em.

JIMMY RAY McGEE: This one’s great. I love this song. Kids seems to be getting younger and younger when they get involved in drugs, alcohol and guys. I know a couple of girls who were in high school and they loved this guy who was the catch, the Jimmy Ray McGee. He took advantage of all the girls. Once they gave in, he didn’t anything to do with them. This is kind of an anthem song for girls, letting them know it’s okay to say no and still feel good about it later.

DREAMING UNDER THE SAME MOON: My sister wrote this song with my producer, and it’s fun, though I didn’t like the music on the original demo. But it was a great song from the start. When she wrote it, my sister had in mind me and my whole family – and not necessarily just Derek, who sings on it with me. She was thinking about the whole family. We’re all so busy doing our own things and pursuing our own dreams, but no matter how far away we are from each other we’re there for each other. Whatever we want for ourselves, we also want for our families. My dad stopped by the studio in Santa Monica when Derek and I were recording it. It was a whole family thing; there’s a great spirit in that song.

Hey, I'm going to quit here. I'll do the rest of the album next week. I hope that's not too mean to keep you hanging. But let me know if any of these songs inspire stories or if you have any of your own Hallelujah songs.

Thanks for all the support (and your votes)!
Talk to you next week.
Julianne

An interesting article:

The ‘Dancing’ Curse Connection Finally Revealed

Ever since Marie Osmond fainted last October on “Dancing With the Stars” it seems some type of negative energy has taken over Stage 46 at CBS Television City. Food poisonings, injuries, surgeries, blackouts are all becoming common place on the set. Even the show could not ignore what many people are calling a “Dancing” curse.

In a taped segment last night the show pointed out the spot on the floor, near the judges, which pro dancer Derek Hough has dubbed the Bermuda Triangle. It’s where he was injured; Misty May-Treanor tore her Achilles tendon leading to her exit from the show and it’s also where Susan Lucci twisted her ankle.

The curse was the hot topic backstage with Mel B after the show. Lance Bass is absolutely convinced something is wrong with the stage telling Mel, “I know it’s cursed. Every major injury that has happened this season has been on this stage. Not in rehearsal. Right here on the stage.”

Professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, who has had her own injury this season, told Mel she has a solution.

“I think they need to bring like a magic person or a priest or someone to bless it.”

Her dance partner Rocci DiSpirito jokingly added, “We need an exorcism!”

So, is the stage really cursed? Common sense tells us ‘of course not.’ However, just to play a little bit of devil’s advocate, so I did some research about the history of CBS Television City, where the show is taped.

The facilities were built in 1952 but stage 46 didn’t get built until the 1980’s. So its history is pretty recent. However, if you look at the lot as whole I think you will find something interesting. The lot used to be the former site of Gilmore Stadium, an 18,000-seat football field and race track.

In the course of its history, five men lost their lives on the racetrack. In 1937, Frankie Lyons died of a broken neck after losing control at a slow speed and hitting a post while filming the movie “Ten Laps To Go.” In October of 1934, Chet Mortemore died after a collision with another driver. In January of 1946, Swede Lindskog died when his car rolled head on into the fence of Gilmore Stadium. And in October (the month when most of “DWTS” mishaps have occurred) of 1949 Eddie Haddad died in a rollover crash.

OK, sure this is all just a little bit of Hocus Pocus but it does make you think doesn’t it?
Access Hollywood producer Stephanie e-mailed me when I told her the story about the race car drivers, “No wonder Helio the race car driver won. The race car drivers ghosts had their way!”

Helio won season five. Season five was the season where “the curse” first came into question. I’m just saying…

Exclusive: The "Plan B" to Keep Injured Stars in the Game

Is the set of Dancing with the Stars cursed? "Oh no, don't say that!" cries birthday girl Toni Braxton, who turned 41 on the day of this week's results show.

Isn't it interesting that going into Season 7, the two dancers we thought would have the most trouble surviving this marathon were Cloris Leachman and Toni Braxton? Leachman, because of her advanced age, and Braxton because of her heart condition. But as we wrap up the third week, those two are laughing all the way to the safety zone of the Red Room while other stars – and pros – are dropping around them. "Maybe there's a floorboard out of place because too many injuries have happened in the same place," says Rocco DiSpirito, looking at the middle of the dance floor.

In case you haven't been counting, Dancing with the Stars has weathered five injuries so far: Pro Karina Sminoff's sprained ankle and comedian Jeff Ross' scratched cornea (Week 1), Susan Lucci's twisted ankle, pro Derek Hough hitting the back of his head on the ballroom floor during rehearsals, and Misty May-Treanor rupturing her Achilles tendon (all in Week 3).

May-Treanor, of course, was stopped in her tracks and had to undergo surgery Tuesday morning to repair the tendon. The injured Smirnoff, Hough, Ross and Lucci were able to dance through their pain. But the show has one other emergency contingency plan – we'll call it Plan B – that it hasn't had to use. Yet.

Here now, an exclusive look at Plan B.

Let's say that a star – like Ross and Lucci – is injured during any one of the three last rehearsals that take place on the show's main stage before the show goes live on Monday night. And let's say that the star isn't hurt badly enough to leave the show – but doesn't feel well enough to dance that night. In that case, says host Tom Bergeron, the stars have the option of airing their rehearsal footage.

"That's why we're always running cameras during those blocking rehearsals," says Bergeron. "They might be wearing jeans and have curlers in their hair. But they know that if something happens, the producers will say, ‘If you're cool with this, and you can't dance, we'll run the rehearsal footage.' And the judges will look at that and base their scores on that."

The way this season is going, look out for Plan B.

Tuesday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

Up Next: Hot and Sexy After Tuesday’s Results show, the competition’s clear frontrunner Brooke Burke said, “I’m glad we got off easy.” But being atop the leader board and garnering the judges’ highest praise hasn’t changed Burke’s approach to dancing, not with the sultry samba on tap for next week. “I’m ready to move,” Burke boasted, “and this is the sexy one that we’ve been waiting for. It’s time to bust it out. There will be no children incorporated in this dance, there will be no long dresses. It’s going to be hot and sexy.”

Rocco Lives to Dance Another Day: Misty May-Treanor’s freak injury proved to be a life saver–or perhaps a stay of execution–for Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff, who would have gone home last night. “You say to yourself, ‘God, that is going to be so embarrassing, I hope that it’s not us,’” DiSpirito admitted. “But then it was us. And it’s not so bad, because it could be worse: we could be going home.”

What may be tripping up the celeb chef aren’t the dances themselves, but his surprising stage fright. Says DiSpirito: “During dress rehearsal, I think that they’re going to go away, and then we’re about to go on, and that voice says, ‘Dancing the foxtrot!’ That’s when I just about lose it. My legs get weak, and they just won’t move the way that I want them to move.” “I think that we need a hypnotist,” the celeb chef said with a laugh, “Maybe a hypnotist, maybe alcohol, but I’m a sloppy enough dancer as it is.”

Dancing’s Handicaps “I think what hurts the most,” Lance Bass joked after Tuesday’s tense Results show, “is my ego from all the bad remarks from the judges.” But the smile quickly faded as Bass came clean about what was hampering him the most. “It starts with the knees,” he said, “Then it’s my back and my shoulders, because this girl makes me hold my frame forever and my arms go numb.” Even Dancing’s youngest contestant, Cody Linley, admitted to feeling the strain. “Physically, I’m hurting.” he said with a sigh, “My shoulders, my legs, my neck, especially with all the kicking that the jive had. I think everyone is feeling the physical demands of this show, some more than others.”

And the women haven’t been immune to Dancing’s special brand of aches and pains. “As of last night,” Burke said with a laugh, “It was my groin that was hurting the most. That little leg lift that we did, [partner Derek Hough] lifted it up a few extra inches and pulled my thigh muscle up a little too far.” Cloris Leachman, the one dancer that continues to astound, admitted, “My knee is a little tricky” before adding, “but I would have to say that it’s the high heels that hurt the most.”

Pizzazz and All That Jazz: After performing a textbook Viennese waltz during this week’s competition, “We’re going back to our style,” Bass said. “We tried the traditional, and we were expecting a lot more from Len, and he may have liked it, but he still gave us the same score. This week we’ll go back to the majority of the people that watch the show, and dance for them, because we think they want to see the pizzazz that we can bring to the dancefloor.”

More from Inside the Ballroom:
• Jennifer Hudson knocked out her single without the aid of a pre-tape. Even Derek Hough was suitably impressed. “I don’t want to piss anyone off,” he said, “but it’s nice to see someone sing a live song in that way.”

• During the pre-show, Tom Bergeron gave out the season’s first “30,” as the host clutched three of the judges’ paddles to give the line-dancing audience a solid score of 10, 10, 10.

DANCING WITH THE STARS hoofer Rocco Dispirito knows he's living on borrowed time,

since he'd be going home if it wasn't for an injury to Misty May Treanor.

See what he plans to do to get back in the audience's good graces!
