Julianne's Blog:

Julianne Hough: A Night Off...Finally

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for getting this blog in so late. I've been rehearsing all day. I know some of you like the whole schedule, so here it is. I woke up and did my usual round of radio interviews. Then I went back to bed for a little bit. Later, I made some calls to find a vet so I could get Lexi checked out. After that I went straight to rehearsal. That was abotu 10:30 - and now it's about six pm. Our only break was a late lunch - burgers at In-N-Out. I said to Cody, "Man, we need some greasy food for a reward and some energy. It was delicious.

Today, we began work on the Jive, our dance next week. The first day is always the slowest because we’re working strictly on the choreography. Cody's a little slow in that department. I’m always like "Cody, get serious! Focus! Stop rolling on the floor!" Fortunately, he's doing better.

I’m so excited for tonight. I have the night off. I’m going to go home, take Lexi for a walk, then go on line and look for some fun furniture for the house I recently bought in Nashville – bedding and stuff like that – and then maybe watch a movie in bed. Absolutely nothing to do tonight. It sounds heavenly.

On last night’s show - as if you didn't know - we said goodbye to Kim. Nobody likes to see anyone go. It was hard to see Jeff and Ted McGinley go the first week, and it was equally hard, maybe even harder to say goodbye to Kim. By the second week, you get to know people better. I got to know Kim. She’s a real sweetheart. Everyone has their perceptions of people before they meet them, and I can tell you she’s such a good person. Obviously, though, people have to be voted off to keep the show going. That’s the name of the game. And Kim was one of the weaker ones. I hate saying that, but it's true.

I’m thinking of who over the seasons had had the hardest time being voted off, and you know what? Jeffery Ross, this season, was really sad about leaving. He was more serious than you'd imagine. He thought his eye messed him up and he could’ve done better. You’d think being a comedian, he’d laugh it off. But he really wanted to do well.

Who else? I remember when Layla Ali was on. She got third, but she said, I’m not going to hide it. I’m pissed off. I thought that was funny.
It was also funny last night when Cloris thought she’d been voted off. We had to tell her that she was still on. She seemed surprised.
Right after last night's show, we got our music and dance for the next week. They don’t give it to us until a couple is eliminated. So last night I came home, put the music on, and tried to feel it a bit. But I don’t like to do any choreography until I get to the studio. I’m more inspired when I have my partner there. Otherwise I’m doing all the moves myself.

By the time Cody arrived today, I had a lot of it visualized in my head. Then it's about seeing what he can do and adjusting throughout the week. Someone asked where I come up with my ideas. It's all about the music. You'll see on the next show.

Speaking of music, I appreciate all of your comments about my music -my album and single. I’m thrilled that so many of you have checked it out and enjoyed it.

Someone asked who I’m listening to and who inspired me when I was younger, and the list is long: Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Dolly, Allison Krause, Martina McBride, Reba…those are all the country girls. I also listened to Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac. U2 is one of my favorite bands ever. Bruce Springsteen. Bob Seeger. Especially because of my dad. We’d take family trips to Idaho every summer. It was a 12 hour drive and all of us kids would either be sleeping in the back or singing with my dad, who loved Springsteen, Seeger, U2…The very first CD I bought was Shania Twain’s “Come On Over.” I bought it with my own money. I think I was six or seven years old.

One more thing. Did any of you catch me last night sticking my tongue out at Cody? He sticks his tongue out a bit. I was goofing around - and maybe making fun of him a little.

I'll be looking out for your comments and questions.

See you next week.
Julianne

An interesting article:

Tuesday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

No Longer a Boy, Not Quite a Man: Julianne Hough praised her Hannah Montana partner Cody Linley for his “sexy, little rumba”, but she couldn’t help poking fun at the 18 year old and his tiny tuft of of chest hair. “Look at that little crop of hair in there!” Hough said, pointing at the open front of Linley’s shirt, “I could probably tweeze them out one by one, and it wouldn’t take as long as somebody getting waxed!”

Hough could probably pluck out Linley’s hair in no time–if she can actually hold him still. “It’s like that in rehearsals.” Julianne said of Linley’s now-famous disappearing acts, “I’m like, ‘Cody, where are you going?’ And it’s always something, he needs to blow his nose, he needs to get water, he needs to get food, he needs to stop at the gas station to get something else to drink.”

What Rivalry?: The show’s producers did their best to tout Corky Ballas joining the show as having all the makings of a heated father-son rivalry. And after two weeks of competition, the Corky and son Mark Ballas found themselves in the one situation that they dreaded the most: up against each other during elimination. Mark, the show’s reigning champion, was the first one to make his move. “He came up to me before the break, and he gave me a kiss and a hug, and he said, ‘I hope it’s me, Dad, and not you.’” Corky said.

In the end, it was a bittersweet victory for the elder Ballas, as he later described hearing his son’s name called as “horrible,” likening it to, “someone running a knife right through me.” “My dad’s been a hero to me all my life,” an admittedly dejected, but still proud Mark said, “and he’s always been a great role model, and he’s taught me everything that I know. I love him more than anything.” And as Mark and his celeb partner Kim Kardashian finished their final dance, the first set of open arms to greet Mark were his father’s. “I just wanted to hug him,” Corky later said, “and I said to him, ‘I love you, I’m proud of you and I’m sorry.’

The “Clori-ography” Dance Craze: Cloris Leachman’s moves on the dance floor have failed to excite the judges’ paddles, but as the couples were pared down to the final foursome, the 82-year-old broke the tension by showing Kardashian a few dance moves, even spinning the young brunette around in a pirouette that ended in a curtsy. When asked about the impromptu lesson, Leachman let out her trademark cackle and said, “She wanted to know a couple of moves, so I showed her a couple of my moves. There may be a dance studio in my future, you never know.”

Even pro partner Corky Ballas, who has managed the wild card Leachman through three nerve-wracking eliminations had to admit, that at this point, nothing would surprise him. “It’s called, “Clori-ography”! That’s what we do! She has her own way of doing things, and her own ideas of what she wants everyone to do, so why not?”

But it’s the mouth–and not the moves–Leachman that bear watching. “After seven seasons,” Samantha Harris admitted. “It is so great to have something fresh and unpredictable like that. Cloris is, hands down, the most unexpected, uncontrollable, and most exciting contestant we’ve ever had on the show.” But Harris, who often has a look of fear on her face whenever Leachman heads backstage, admits that she approached the casting of Leachman with more than a little trepidation. “I was a little concerned about what would happen with Cloris.” Harris said, “Prior to the show starting, I had interviewed her costars Meg Ryan and Annette Bening, and when I told them that the show was live, they both gasped, and said, ‘Oh my God! Good luck to you!’”

Dancing, Hazardous to Your Health?: After getting beaten up by the judges in back-to-back weeks, Rocco DiSpirito and partner Karina Smirnoff admitted to being the most surprised when they heard their names called as Smirnoff let out a squeal of delight that may be still ringing in host Tom Bergeron’s ears. “For I second, ” Smirnoff said after the show, “I didn’t believe that they called our names. They said, ‘Rocco, and Karina,’ and I was like, ‘Wait, Rocco, and Karina! That’s us!’

After being saved to dance another week, DiSpirito admitted that the show is already starting to take its toll, both mentally, and physically. “It’s crazy, the range of emotions that you feel.” he said, “This show makes you feel old when you’re rehearsing, because everything hurts. And then it makes you feel like a 15 year old on Tuesday, when you get through for another week.” Smirnoff couldn’t help being a little more melodramatic, adding, “I think that if they had kept us around until the end of the show, we would have developed a heart condition, and I would have gone into cardiac arrest.”

Next week’s game plan? If he doesn’t deliver a dance that doubles his score of 16, DiSpirito said, “I’m going to have to cook for the judges.”

More from Inside the Ballroom:
• Jessica Simpson’s pre-taped two-song performance had a surprise guest: little sis Ashlee Simpson Wentz snuck in just before Jessica started her first song. Wearing jeans and a black flowing shirt, the mom-to-be sat with three female friends and joined in on both of her sister’s well-earned standing ovations. She slipped out the side door as soon as taping finished.

• Tom Bergeron being lauded by the crowd warmer for his job hosting the Emmys. “Please!”, Bergeron said, laughing, “For God’s sake, don’t bring that up!”

Race driver Castroneves charged in US tax case

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and TV "Dancing With the Stars" champion Helio Castroneves was indicted Thursday on tax evasion and tax fraud charges, accused of using offshore accounts to hide millions of dollars in income from the Internal Revenue Service.

Castroneves, 33, is charged with conspiracy and six counts of tax evasion for purportedly failing to report to the IRS about $5.5 million in income between 1999 and 2004, according to court documents. Each count carries a maximum five-year prison sentence.

Also facing charges are Katiucia Castroneves, 35, the race car driver's sister and business manager, and attorney Alan R. Miller, 71, of Birmingham, Mich. All three are scheduled to make court appearances Friday and it wasn't immediately clear if they had hired defense lawyers. None were under arrest Thursday.

"This case sends a clear message that the IRS is committed to vigorously enforcing the tax laws and stopping offshore tax evasion," said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman.

Castroneves, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has won the Indianapolis 500 twice and is currently second in the IndyCar Series points standings. He and partner Julianne Hough won the 2007 "Dancing With the Stars" TV reality show competition on ABC.

The indictment charges that Castroneves illegally concealed income from Penske Racing Inc. and the Brazilian firm Coimex International S.A. Neither company is charged with any wrongdoing.

In Penske's case, prosecutors say Castroneves was to be paid $5 million in exchange for rights to use his name, likeness and image. The money was initially supposed to go to a Panamanian shell corporation, but then was diverted to a Dutch entity called Fintage Licensing.

Fintage was set up as a "deferred royalty plan" in which U.S. tax payments can be delayed, which is only legal if Castroneves had no relationship or control over it. Prosecutors say he did have control and that false statements were made to Penske about the relationship.

Coimex paid Castroneves $600,000 between 1999 through 2001 for sponsorship contracts, but he only paid taxes on about $50,000, prosecutors said.

Katuicia Castroneves transferred some of the hidden money to a Swiss bank account she controlled with her brother, court documents show.

Working telephone number for Castroneves and his sister could not be located Thursday. Miller did not immediately return a call to his office in Michigan.

Castroneves recently signed on with "Entertainment Tonight" to be a correspondent for some episodes of this year's "Dancing With the Stars" show. He did a similar stint last year.

He has raced for Team Penske since 2000, capturing Indy 500 victories in 2000 and 2001, becoming the youngest driver, 27, to win the famous race twice. Castroneves has recorded a total of 18 victories and 43 top-three finishes, according to Penske's Web site.

Miami-Dade County records show that Castroneves, who is single, lives in a six-bedroom, six-bath home in Coral Gables valued at about $2.3 million.

another article on DWTS Champion Helio:

Dancing Champ Helio Castroneves Indicted in Tax Case

Dancing with the Stars champ Helio Castroneves was indicted Thursday in a federal income tax case in Florida, PEOPLE confirms.

Castroneves, who charmed judges and the audience with his enthusiasm and infectious smile, is accused by a federal grand jury of siphoning millions of dollars in income to a Panamanian shell company from 1999 to 2004.

The 33-year-old Brazilian-born professional race car driver is expected to appear in a Miami court on Friday to face charges of conspiracy and tax evasion. If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum penalty of 35 years in prison.

His sister and business manager Katiucia Castroneves and his attorney, Alan Miller, were also indicted.

Bud Denker, executive vice president of Penske Racing, for which Castroneves races, tells PEOPLE that Castroneves was in Atlanta Thursday preparing for a race on Saturday.

"He's doing fine," says Denker. "Now, he's focusing on getting this thing behind him, getting in the race car and hopefully winning a race."

Denker had not yet seen the indictment and said he could not comment on the charges.

... one more from tv guide:

Helio Castroneves Is Indicted on Tax Evasion Charges

Helio Castroneves may have had his last dance.

The Season 5 Dancing champ was indicted Thursday on charges of conspiracy and tax evasion. The Brazilian race car driver, 33, is accused of funneling millions of dollars in income to a Panamanian shell company from 1999 to 2004. He is expected to appear in a Miami court on Friday.

If convicted of all charges, he could be facing up to 35 years behind bars. Also indicted are his sister and business manager, Katiucia Castroneves and his attorney, Alan Miller.

Will Castroneves be able to race — or even rumba — away from this legal number?

Mist May's Blog:

Misty's Blog: Week 3 Preview

Hi everyone. Well I survived the second week and I am so excited to be dancing again! I know most of you saw my struggles last week with the Paso Doble but I did it and felt good with our performance. After having only 3 days of rehearsal before going live, I am relieved that we got the 21 and live to see another week. I love being around such wonderful people, I am truly having the time of my life, and I can’t wait to see my husband this week!! The dance that Maks and I will be performing this week is the Jive. It is very fast paced and involves some skipping/jumping, which I hope I can conquer. My goals for this week are to relax and to transfer the emotions that I am feeling into my face. This should be a fun one…..but let me tell you that the Jive should be used by athletes for cardio and plyometrics. You will see why. On another note, it is always sad to see someone leave each week. Kim you will be missed!!!! Keep voting and cheering us on. Thanks everyone!

An update on Helio:  :'(   :ascared

'Weeping' Helio Castroneves Pleads Not Guilty To Tax Fraud

Handcuffed and weeping, Helio Castroneves pleaded not guilty in a Miami court Friday to charges that he evaded U.S. taxes on more than $5 million in income.

Appearing in court bound in leg chains, the two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and Dancing with the Stars champ was ordered released on $10 million bail. Of that amount, $8 million is security from one of the race car driver's personal accounts in the Netherlands.

"He surrendered his passport and has permission to travel to Atlanta for his race Saturday and anywhere in the U.S. for business," Seiden told PEOPLE. Court restrictions prohibit him from traveling out the U.S., which will likely stop him from racing in Australia later this month, the lawyer added.

The Brazilian professional race car driver, 33, was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday for allegedly siphoning the millions to a Panamanian shell company from 1999 to 2004.

Earlier Friday, his attorney, Mark Seiden, told PEOPLE that Castroneves is innocent.

Lawyer: Why Criminal Charges?

Another attorney for Castroneves, David Garvin, expressed a desire to resolve the tax question without criminal charges.

"Helio has always done the appropriate thing and hired accountants and attorneys he relied upon," Garvin told The Miami Herald. "We are of the strong belief that he did not do anything wrong. We're looking forward to going to court."

If convicted of all charges, Castroneves faces a maximum penalty of 35 years in prison.

No date has been set for the next hearing in the case.

His sister Katiucia (Kati) Castroneves, who is also his business manager, and his attorney, Alan Miller, were also indicted on Thursday.

It's official....Misty and Maksim are out of the competition....article posted on msnbc.com

May-Treanor finished ‘Dancing,’ Burke says
Competitor tells radio show Olympic gold medalist has torn Achilles tendon

Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor’s “Dancing With the Stars” days are over, according to competitor Brooke Burke, who told a morning radio show that the Olympic gold medalist has a torn Achilles tendon.

Monday morning on 104.3 MY FM’s Valentine in the Morning, Burke confirmed that the beach volleyball star is out of the competition and possibly faces surgery this week.

"Dancing With the Stars" producers have not confirmed Burke's statement. In a statement released on Saturday, show producers told Access Hollywood: “Misty May-Treanor sustained an injury on Friday and received immediate medical attention. Despite previous reports, she did not break her ankle. She is resting comfortably at home. Doctors will reevaluate her condition on Monday and determine the outcome of her participation on the show.”

However, earlier on Saturday, a source close to the show told Access that the volleyball star will require surgery.

May-Treanor’s injury is the third so far this season — booted comedian Jeffrey Ross suffered a scratched cornea during rehearsal and pro Karina Smirnoff twisted her ankle just before the season seven premiere.

Though the competition is just two weeks old, May-Treanor has already stepped out as a “Dancing” star on the rise.

She consistently received 21 points out of 30 for the host of dances she performed with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

And last week, Misty received some of her highest praise from the judges after performing an intense paso doble with Maks.

“Compared to what we [last] saw I want to thank you, because that is the kind of determination we need,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said on Monday’s show, before turning her attention to Maks. “You gave her one of the most ambitious routines in week two, what are you doing?”

The Olympic champ has pulled double duty in recent weeks, competing on the AVP volleyball tour and training for “Dancing.”

Just two weeks ago, she and partner Kerri Walsh won the $1 million AVP Crocs Cup Shootout in Manhattan Beach, following their earlier victory on September 14 at the AVP Crocs Tour in San Francisco.

Here we go again...also from  msnbc.com, Derek blacks out during a nasty fall

Derek Hough blacks out after ‘Dancing’ fall
Brooke Burke writes on blog that paramedics were called to assist partner

Yet another “Dancing With The Stars” injury has occurred on the set of the hit ABC show.

Just days after an injury reportedly bounced Misty May-Treanor to the sidelines of the competition, dancer Derek Hough blacked out after taking a nasty tumble and hitting his head, “Dancing” competitor Brooke Burke wrote on her blog.

“It has been an intense weekend, especially yesterday when Derek and I almost found ourselves out of the competition,” Burke wrote of her partner.

“Saturday, on the CBS stage, we were practicing as usual when Derek accidentally tripped over a box, while walking backwards,” she continued. “As he tried to break his fall, by jumping up, his foot caught a stage light which sent him further into the air. He landed on his back on the wooden dance floor and smashed the back of his head. He was disoriented, blacked out for a few seconds, and was flattened out in pain. He couldn’t move, I sat beside him as he layed (sic) there and we waited for help to arrive.”

Paramedics were called to come check out Hough.

“Our producers called 911 and the paramedics arrived to carefully examine him. He suffered a neck injury last season which had him down for a week, so the reoccurrence was definitely scary. They rushed him off, stretcher and all, in the ambulance for further testing in the ER,” she wrote.

Even as Hough was being taken away, his mind was still on the competition, according to Burke.

“He was talking about today’s rehearsals and assured me that he would be ok to dance. That was the last thing on my mind. I wanted him to be okay,” Burke wrote.

Luckily, Hough received good news at the hospital, according to Burke.

“After a cat scan and many other tests, he received a clean bill of health and we were back at it today as scheduled. With a huge headache, and a little dizziness, the show goes on,” Burke added.

An interesting article an interview with DWTS Tony Dovolani:

Exclusive Interview: Tony Dovolani of 'Dancing with the Stars'

Arguably, the best part of watching Dancing with the Stars is the cadre of professional dancers who are tasked to teach celebrities who have never danced before to compete in a televised ballroom competition. Over the seven seasons of the show's existence, we've gotten to know these dancing pros and have watched them in awe as they flawlessly perform week after week. They are class acts, these dancers, for their dedication to the show, to their craft and to us, their fans.

One of these special dancers is Tony Dovolani. I got the chance to talk to him about the journey he has been through with his partner Susan Lucci this season. He's had quite the busy fall, with the arrival of his twins and the challenging schedule of teaching and performing two dances for the first week of competition, not to mention the long commute between New York and Los Angeles every week. He talked about the kinds of challenges that beginners face when learning how to dance, he gave his opinion about some of his competitors this season and he spoke at length about why he is not just a performer on Dancing with the Stars, but also a fan. His passion for the art of ballroom dancing is as apparent as his costumes are spectacular.

Tonight, Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani will be performing the jive, and Tony promises that it will be a good one.

Another thing that Tony is busy with these days is the Ballroom Dance Channel, a groundbreaking online and mobile destination for anyone seeking to learn how to move like the pros. Users have the opportunity through the Ballroom Dance Channel to take step-by-step dance lessons from award winning professionals - including Dancing with the Stars' own Tony Dovolani - for popular styles including rumba, cha cha, tango, salsa and waltz. Everything you've ever wanted to know about learning how to dance can be found right here: http://www.ballroomdancechannel.com.

This is Debbie at BuddyTV, and today I'm talking to Tony Dovolani, one of the professional dancers of Dancing with the Stars. I was just wondering, the format for this season was slightly different. How much more difficult was it to learn two dances for the first week?

It's hard enough to learn one dance, but to learn two dances and to be able to have them ready for the first week, it drove the celebrities nuts. And you know what? It drove the teachers nuts too because it was twice more importance as far as choreography and as far as getting ready and so on. It was a nice twist. We needed something different for the seventh season. I really think we should throw a twist in there and this was a good one.

Did you have the same amount of time to learn the two dances that you used to have for just one?

Exactly. They gave us an extra week, but really, a week for an extra dance is never enough. It was five weeks that we had to get ready two dances, but it most certainly challenged the best of us.

What are the kinds of difficulties that most beginners have when they start to learn ballroom dancing?

One of the things that is different is that, right away, your coordination, your balance, your posture, as far as taking direction, all that stuff comes into play. If you notice, everybody, if you put a few drinks in them, they could go to a club and maybe cut a rug. But as soon as you give them direction as far as putting rhythm to it and actually doing the same thing twice, it normally makes it more difficult.

Also, for the second week, all of you had either the paso doble or the rumba, which I gather is one of the more difficult styles. Is that true?

That is true, actually. The paso doble and the rumba, they are very difficult because those are two dances that normally expose a person's weakness or their strength. Doing the rumba, that's part of the reason why everybody, all the teachers, took extra time as far as making sure that everything gets done properly. We actually extended all of our rehearsals from four-hour rehearsals to six-hour rehearsals because, not only did we have a difficult dance to do, we also had one less day to do it in.

This season, you're partnered with Susan Lucci, and how has it been rehearsing with her?

Being partnered with Susan Lucci, I'm a big fan of hers to start with, and then on top of it, to get to dance with her was quite an incredible journey so far. She's such an incredible icon. She's the queen of daytime. And to be as humble as she is and as normal as she is, she's a genuine, genuine person, and I really feel that I'm blessed. You know, this season, I was blessed with my twins, and then on top of it, I'm dancing with Susan Lucci, and on top of it, I'm in New York, which means I'm home – I get to stay home – I think somebody's looking out for me.

Oh, you had twins recently?

Yes, I had twins recently, a boy and a girl, and it's just been an incredible journey so far.

Congratulations.

Thank you very much.

Which teams have really surprised you this season?

Actually, I was very surprised with Warren Sapp. Warren Sapp is amazing. As big as he is, he is so agile. He's so quick on his feet. That goes to show you why he was such a great defensive back.

You know, with Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer, I've found them to be a very strong team, but they haven't been getting the high scores that some of the other teams are getting. What's your opinion on why this might be happening?

The reason I feel why this might be happening is because they're not sticking to traditional ballroom dancing. See, one of the jobs that we have as teachers is, if they tell us we have paso doble or rumba, then our job is to create a doble or a rumba. And their style has been a little more contemporary and very modern and not really sticking to the roots of the dance. So therefore, the judges don't like it and they don't give them good scores, but obviously the audience likes it and they keep voting them back in, and that's all, I guess, that really matters in the end, right?

Is there a rivalry between Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance?

No, I don't think there's a rivalry. I've never been aware of it. I think they're both great shows. Our show has a completely different audience. Our show is about an everyday person learning how to dance, and So You Think You Can Dance is more for dancers that go out and compete against each other, so it's a little bit different. The beauty of our show is that it sticks to ballroom dancing, to the very classical social dance that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse brought to life. In American culture, especially during wartime, this is exactly what entertained us for years, and now, it's even entertaining us in this day and age. So really, our show is completely different than So You Think You Can Dance. In fact, it's different than any dance show that's on TV. It brings you back to understanding how a person's body learns and brings people from different walks of life, doing the same thing and seeing them go through the challenges of learning it. In the other shows, you are dealing with dancers, so it's one choreography versus the other, where this one, it's one person, one personality, how a person learns and how a person progresses, it's very entertaining. I have to tell you, I'm a fan of our show. I know I'm on it, but I'm actually a fan of our show because I go home and I watch every single person's practice and I watch every person's journey. I get intrigued by it and to me, that's more entertaining than anything else.

I just wanted to compliment you on your choice of costumes every week. I always notice that you have really sparkly things and you like to do the deep V-neck, which I think is cool.

Thank you very much. The dance itself has to speak and the actual costumes have to speak through the dance too. So therefore, I always try to come up with interesting ideas that for the dancer makes it a little more interesting, right? [laughs]

And I'm sure the audience appreciates it as well.

So far, people do thank me quite a bit. [laughs]

Can you say anything about Monday night's performance? What styles are you going to do?

On Monday, we're doing the jive and we're really, really excited about it. This is going to be one of those great dances for Susan. It's going to be incredible. Actually, they're doing jive and Viennese waltz. I'm just looking forward to the entire experience with her. She's such a sweetheart to work with. It's been a journey with her, and I'm enjoying it, and so is she. We've become friends out it, which says a lot more than just teaching her.

Warren Sapp a great defensive back? Warren was a great defensive lineman and quick on his feet, but no way was or is he quick enough to play defensive back in the NFL! He would have to be about 100 pounds lighter to do so. Howver, it does look like he is a fine ballroom and Latin dancer and he should make it to the final 4.

Marigold, I agree with you and so does Bruno the DWTS judge. He said it the wackiest jive ever.

The scores for tonight were:

Susan/Tony    7 7 7 21 Jive
Lance/Lacey   8 7 7 22 Viennese Waltz
Rocco/Karina  7 7 6 20 Jive
Maurice/Cheryl8 8 8 24 Jive
Warren/Kym   9 8 8 25 Viennese Waltz
Cody/Julianne 7 7 7 21 Jive
Toni/Alec         8 7 7 22 Jive
Cloris/Corky    6 5 5 16 Jive(sort of)
Brooke/Derek 9 10 9 28 Viennese Waltz

Brooke/Derek really outdistanced the rest of the top group tonight. Cloris did the same with the bottom group. She is now 4 marks below Rocco/Karina and 5 below Susan/Tony and Cody/Julianne. I believe Susan and Cody have enough following to overcome the "Cloris effect." I would hope the same applies to rocco, but I'm not sure. I expect that Cloris is going home tomorrow night, but it may end up being Rocco.
