The paso doble is the dance of the bullfight. The rumba is a dance that tells the story of love and eroticism between a man and a woman. Teams had only 3 days to learn one of these two dances after having 5 weeks to learn 2 one Latin and one ballroom dance. Here are the judges scores for the rumba/paso doble competition tonight:

Toni/Alec          R    C 7 L 8 B 8 T 23
Brooke/Derek   PD C 8 L 8 B 8 T 24
Rocco/Karina    R   C 5 L 6 B 5 T 16
Lance/Lacey     R   C 7 L 6 B 7 T 20
Kim/Mark          R   C 6 L 6 B 5 T 17
Misty/Maks       PD C 7 L 7 B 7 T 21
Maurice/Cheryl R   C 7 L 6 B 6 T 19
Cloris/Corky     PD C 5 L 5 B 5 T 15
Susan/Tony      R   C 7 L 7 B 7 T 21
Warren/Kym     PD C 8 L 8 B 8 T 24
Cody/Julianne  R   C 7 L 7 B 7 T 21

The outstanding dance of the night was by Warren and Kym, although Brooke and Derek were scored the same. Slightly behind them were Toni/Alec, Susan/Tony, and Lance/Lacey. On the bottom Cloris/Corky will need the AARP to save her again tonight. With the expectation that that will happen, I see Rocco/Karina and Kim/Mark as vulnerable.

My wife said that Toni/Alec did not do a lot of dancing in their rumba. I thought the same of Rocco/Karina. Warren brought down the house with his very agile footwork. Misty had on a costume Bruno accurately described as Xena the Warrior Princess.

The results show is tomorrow at 9pm EDT for one hour.

I liked Misty's dance, but I'll agree with Len that she definitely had the same look on her face throughout.

An interesting article:

Backstage: Lacey's Think You Can Dance Pals Visit

Dancing with the Stars was infiltrated Monday night by some of its stiffest dance competition: three heavyweights from Fox's So You Think You Can Dance.

Sitting ringside was So You Think You Can Dance creator, executive producer and head judge Nigel Lythgoe, who has always made a point of praising Dancing with the Stars on the air. In another section of the ballroom sat So You Think judge Adam Shankman, who also directed the feature film Hairspray. And three seats down from Shankman sat the show's Season 2 winner, swing dancer Benji Schwimmer.

"They all came to support me," says new pro Lacey Schwimmer, who was a fan favorite during So You Think's Season 3. Lacey really needed their support. Because even though she and her star, 'NSync's Lance Bass, have racked up three solid scores for their cha cha cha, quick-step and paso doble, they're had their wrists slapped repeatedly by head judge Len Goodman for not doing traditional steps. "He's really got it in for them," says Shankman. "And it's ridiculous, because the audience loves them. And they're the only ones out there who look like they're really having fun. Everyone else has these smiles plastered on their faces, but Lance and Lacey are the real thing."

"I think Adam said, 'Fire Len!'" says Bass after the show, laughing. "He would say that," says Lacey. "But it was great to have him and Nigel here, it was like a little reunion for me."

Still, having such influential support from the stands didn't stop Goodman from chastising the couple yet again. "I know your game and I know your brain!" said Goodman after their paso doble. "And it doesn't work, my old sausage." He may have finally put a dent in Lacey's determination to put a rock & roll edge into her ballroom choreography. "We're gonna be who we are," she says. "But if the judges really want us to be traditional, we'll pull it out of somewhere. We'll find it."

"We play characters when we dance," says Bass. "And this is not the time to play it safe. But if we stay on the show, maybe next week, we'll do a completely traditional ballroom dance. We'll give them exactly what they want. We can do that, and we'll prove that we can do that."

I agree she is doing fine.

I do find that whoever is doing her makeup is making her look too harsh they need to soften her look

I think that would help

An article in People:

Monday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

The $56,000 Workout
Samantha Harris sported a nearly 1-lb. Tahitian pearl bracelet on her right arm (left), prompting co-host Tom Bergeron to remark before the show, “That thing is huge!” The $56,000 accessory, by jeweler Tara, gave the lithe Harris a workout. “I’m going to have to wear this on the way home so I can work out the muscles on my left arm,” Harris joked.

Ladies Love Cool Lance
They danced to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” and ended their funky non-traditional paso doble with a smooch on the lips. How did openly gay Lance Bass really like lip-locking with partner Lacey Schwimmer? “It was fun,” Bass said, laughing. He came out two years ago and ever since he’s been nothing but a chick magnet. “Ironically, that’s what happens,” he says, laughing. “I swear, I came out and I got a way bigger fan base of women. Oh, well.”

Kim Backs It Up
While her rumba was less than well-received, it was Kim Kardashian’s words of wisdom that left the judges speechless. When the reality-TV star was asked what she needed to do to improve, she replied, “I need to put my rear into gear or a gear up my rear.” Oops. Once it was out there Kardashian couldn’t reel it back in. Carrie Ann Inaba was in hysterics laughing, smacking her hand on the judges’ table at one point. For words of wisdom, Kardashian relies on her mother’s husband, Olympic champ Bruce Jenner. “He tells me to just have a good time and not take it too seriously. He always says, ‘We’re not saving lives here. We’re just dancing.’ ”

Mum Is the Word
A quieter Cloris Leachman during week two? Absolutely, the 82-year-old tells PEOPLE. “I was trying to be a nicer person,” she says, glancing over at her partner Corky Ballas, who added: “I told her to be a good girl this week. I warned her all week to behave, be good and she did.” Even without the antics, Leachman received a massive standing ovation. “I think they know I’m who they are — I’m a fan. I’m having as much fun as they are.”

Toe Lift!
It wasn’t intentional and barely noticeable, but yes, Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo were scolded by Carrie Ann for doing the season’s first lift. “It was accidental,” Mazo says. Braxton explained, “My foot was about a centimeter off the floor. I was stretching my toe out as much as I could.” But alas, they were nailed. “You should have just lifted me high up in the air,” Braxton playfully chided Mazo, who shook his head in disgust. “I wasted that one. I should have done something obvious and really gone for it,” he joked.

Mama’s Boy
He may not have had all the ingredients for a successful rumba according to the judges, but chef Rocco DiSpirito (right) did get a 10 from a very special lady –- his Italian mother, Nicolina. “She loves me on the show,” DiSpirito told PEOPLE as Nicolina embraced him warmly. “She wants to move to L.A. and I told her I may not be on the show forever, so moving is a little bit premature.” Mom says, “I think he’s wonderful. He tries the best he can and he is such a gorgeous man! I am a big fan of the show.” And she can’t wait until she gets to take a spin around the ballroom floor. “I will wait until he finishes the show and then we can dance.”

It’s Not Easy Being Greene
It worked for Kermit the Frog, but not for Olympic track star Maurice Greene, who says his namesake color is just bad luck for him. So why did he wear an emerald green shirt for the rumba? “There was one race where I wore a green outfit and I got hurt. I threw those shoes away and I never put it on again,” Greene says. “Now, I put on this green shirt and the judges dogged me like that? We will never wear green again!”

Brooke: Locked and Loaded
How to put it delicately? Brooke Burke’s paso doble dress looked like it had the makings of season seven’s first wardrobe malfunction. “I was hoping for it,” partner Derek Hough joked. But alas, the dancing damsel assures that while it appeared her bosom was spilling out of her red and black dress, she was “so in the corset. There was no malfunction possible. Honestly, nothing is moving ever. The whole bodice/corset thing. I don’t know how women did it. I can’t wait to get out of this.” And just because she was wrapped tight didn’t mean Burke didn’t eat. “I had a burger, I had filet mignon last night,” she laughed. “You just put the corset on and cinch it up real tight and there goes the waist.”

Susan Lucci: Dreams of Flying?
“Susan Lucci slept on the floor in the airport,” partner Tony Dovolani says. “I documented it. It happened.” The pair, who fly back and forth from New York to L.A., were delayed with a layover in Denver before this week’s show. But the soap star was a trouper, Dovolani says. “This girl was like, all right, as if the floor was going to be great for her back!” As for Dovolani, his biggest strain is being away from his newborn twins. The minute he gets home each week, “we have ten minutes of hugs and kisses,” he says. “We’re a family of five and I’m still getting used to that.”

DWTS' Cloris Leachman: "I Don't Have Any Worries" About Being Eliminated

Cloris Leachman hasn't exactly been a hit on Dancing With the Stars. (Judge Bruno Tonioli joked that she resembled her Young Frankenstein character while dancing the paso doble Monday night.)

So is she fretting that she may get the boot on tonight's show? (Chef Rocco DiSpirito's fate on the show also remains questionable.)

"I don't have any worries," Leachman, 82, told Usmagazine.com after Monday's show. "I'm planning on staying even if I have to go home."

She joked that changing her hair from blonde to brunette could have played a role in her low scores Monday.

"Yeah, I will be back to blonde form now on without question!" she told Us. "I might have a red Afro later. I found one, and I want to use it. It
depends on if they will let me."

The biggest challenge for the actress? "Turning to the right!" she said.

Does she have any goals to make it to the top 5?

"No, I just want to stay on and wear the pretty clothes and get made up and enjoy myself," she said. "I will be around even if they haven't voted me in ... which they better!"

Julianne's Blog:

Julianne Hough: About Last Night, About Your Questions

Hey Everyone,
Sorry this is so late today. The schedule here at Dancing With The Stars is all different. My call time wasn’t until 12:25 and before that my morning was crazy. I did interviews, ran my boyfriend to the airport, came back and did a few more interviews, and then I literally went onstage to do a dress rehearsal, and now…now I’m relaxing in the hair trailer and whipping off this blog post to you.

The buzz here about last night’s show is that Warren Sapp was awesome, so light on his feet. Gosh, that’s 300 pounds he’s moving around. Everyone’s also talking about how harsh the judges have been. I think they’re trying to make the marks a little lower so come week six or seven they can make the marks a little higher and it will be a big deal. What do you think?

If you ask me, they were a little harsh last night on Cody. I think he did a great job for the amount of time we had to learn a new dance. Everyone did a great job considering we had only three days compared to the normal five and we didn’t have any time to ease into it. I was proud of Cody since he’s only 18 and somewhat limited in the romance department. You have to remember he’s a guy who really did say to me during rehearsal that the best way to his heart was when a girl brings him food.

We worked hard, but I’ll tell you secret. The first day was almost pointless. He’d gone to bed about 5 am and we had rehearsal at 10 that morning, so he was, to say the least, a little out of it. He knew it too, so I’m not talking behind his back. But the next day, we cracked the whip on him and he did great. If you ask me, I think he pulled off being sexy and romantic.

It’s hard. Last night’s competition was pretty high. You can usually tell the front runners, but this season it’s pretty close. I haven’t figured out who is going to be in the top; in previous seasons I’ve been able to predict it pretty accurately almost from the start. As for us, Cody and I are right in the middle and that’s a good spot to be at this point. I’m hoping we’ll make it by halfway through and by then we’ll have improved so much we’ll keep going.

I’m happy that so many of you are enjoying this blog. Let me answer a few of your questions.

Jess, thanks for asking about Lexi. I’ll try to get a couple pictures of us together and put them up.

Lisa, it’s so cute you want to know what happened to Jackson. For everyone else, Jackson was my roommate’s dog that I took care of when she had a baby. I took him on the road with me. I had him in Nashville. He wasn’t my dog but he was like my dog. Now he’s in Arizona with her family.

Jay wants to know if I listen to Adam Carolla’s radio show. I listen every so often. I listened to it a lot last season when I was dancing with him and driving around. But this year I haven’t been in the car early enough to catch his show. Also, I live pretty near where I work so I don’t have a long drive.

Ava, I am enjoying partnering with Cody, though he does have a problem focusing. I think the jive might be good for Cody because of how much energy he has. When we do the freestyle I have a trick up my sleeve that will be good for Cody.

Warren, do you think I’m too serious? That’s interesting. Maybe it’s just that I’m concentrating. Between last week and last night, there’s been a lot of waiting around. Maybe it’s the up and downs of going from excitement to nervousness and then to boredom and then back to excitement. I don’t feel like I’ve been too serious. As for the boyfriend, he’s been on tour the whole time.

Katilyn, I love your idea about performing with Helio again. That would be really cool. I haven’t thought about it. But Helio loves the show and will do anything. Why don’t you call the producers and suggest we do the dance?

Cheryl, I talk to Apolo and Helio at least once a month if not twice a month. Sometimes I’ll talk twice in a week. We definitely stay in contact. Apolo is so funny. The last time I spoke to him, he was talking about the Olympics being right around the corner. I said, isn’t it in two years? He said,, Yeah, isn’t that quick? I said if that’s quick to you, then yeah. He’s just training really hard. We’re great, great friends. He hasn’t given Cody any advice, but I have an idea for one of those video packages they play before we dance. I think it would be funny to bring Apolo and Helio out to give Cody advice and then have Adam come in on his unicycle and say hey, what am I?

Mea, I’m going to be performing on the results show October 21. I’ll be singing single, “My Hallelujah Song.” I’m looking forward to it.

Nicole, thanks for coming to the show. I hope you enjoyed it. I’m going to tour after Dancing. Absolutely. I haven’t found a tour to go on next year, but I’ll be doing my own shows at festivals. Once we find a tour to get on, I’ll definitely let everyone know.

Hey, and to all the others who said they liked my album and listened to the new song, thank you!

Talk to you tomorrow.

Julianne.

Tonight's results were handled the same way as last week. ABC had couples introduced as being "safe" until there was only two teams left. That was Kim with Mark Ballas(last year's champion with Kritsi Yamaguchi) and Cloris with Corky Ballas. I had a bad feeling about this, because Cloris support among seniors is legendary despite her minimal dancing skills and low scores. One of the Ballas men was going down no matter what. My feeling was correct, as Cloris again received more voter support than she deserved and avoided elimination. Kim was eliminated.

I can tell you that Kim Kardashian is hated by women in middle America and her reputation did not help her. Cloris again appealed to the Gray Panthers, AARP and one other senior citizens group. I love seniors. My parents are seniors, but many seniors can use their time much more wisely than to jam ABC's phone lines which is what I heard they did.

Kim Kardashian's Blog:

Learning From Rumba Night

Last night we danced the Rumba! Wow this show is a huge challenge for me! I really thought I did a good job! But the judges thought differently!

I was really trying to break down what I am doing wrong. The fact that I have never performed before in front of anyone—let alone 25 million people—is a huge accomplishment to me when the dance is done because I am so out of my element here, and it feels like such a rush when we are dancing!

This show is teaching me a lot! When talking to Reggie about it, he made a good point, that I have never played a sport where I would win or lose a game, I have never competed against anyone before where I would be judged, and just learning all of this is teaching me more about ME!

Although I am learning choreography and spending hours in the dance studio, I think I am learning so much more about myself than I ever imagined. So at the end of the day, this is such a life changing experience.

To be honest last week, I cried so hard when I got home, just knowing this is SO hard for me and I really am trying—but my inner shyness is making it look like I am just not trying. I think I took it way to seriously and I was a nervous wreck on Wednesday.

This week I am just having more fun with it and haven't really let the judges comments hurt me. I feel that in life when challenges come your way, sometimes God tests you, and wants you to learn, because that is what life is about! I hope the plan he has for me is to stay in a little bit longer, because I don't think I have learned everything there is to learn from Dancing With The Stars yet!

I haven't quiet come out of my shell and I so badly want to! Each dance gets easier for me but I'm not ready to give up on this inner challenge that I'm faced with by a simple dance! I know it seems silly that dancing is this big of an inner struggle but it is and I so badly want to overcome it and have fun with it all at the same time! This show is a blessing and I hope you all are just enjoying this journey with me!

It was great to have my dad's side of the family there to watch and support! My cousins Kourtni and Kara Kardashian came with my cousins Chey and Julie. I definitely felt the love!

My friend Caroline D'Amore also came to support!

lol not to argue but as a woman I can say I certainly don't hate her and her reputation did not make a difference as I believe she was judged on her dancing ability, or lack thereof.

By the way what happened to all the male votes aren't you guys voting  :funny:

Kim's Blog:

The Final Dance

What can I say... I am obviously sad to go, but I am more sad to not be seeing this amazing cast that really has grown so close together.

I know I wasn't the best dancer and I never claimed to be. I have never taken a dance class in my life until now! But WOW what an incredible experience!

I will never ever forget this journey. I have made friends I know will be in my life forever now! I wouldn't have given up the experience for the world!

After the show Mark and I were rushed to do Jimmy Kimmel and then it was the wrap party for Keeping Up with the Kardashians at Crown Bar. So many of the DWTS crew came by to support!
