So given that the start line is right by a river...could teams arrive by boat?

I am a bit puzzled by the quad bike cap...since we have known for nearly three months that one of the possible tasks in the next leg in Chiang Mai includes opportunities for bungee and/or off road racing.  Seems strange to have similar opportunities back to back. Could those caps actually be from the Chiang Mai leg?

I will add that the pitstop in Chiang Mai is the night of the 21st, as we have an eye witness who saw the teams at the airport on the 22nd, presumably on their way to the next stop.

That makes sense to me....

We see the teams giving what seem now to be Pitstop interviews in that location, and then perhaps leaving from there the next morning. Sure would like to find that next!

Yes Slowhatch I agree that the off road racing takes place in the Chiang Mai leg.... I was just confused by the inclusion of that cap in leg 1...

We can also add that safe in leg two are:
AD and Fuzzie and Mai and Oliver are seen in HUE, and Geoff and Trisha are spotted later on the way to India.
I do agree that Leg 1 ends, as has become traditional, with a NEL.
Sadly, based on their total invisibility later on, it seems that Natalie and Pailin may be the ones eliminated here in Chiang Mai.

Well I'm definitely a little surprised that you some how found my one reference
to the amazing race in my blog.  I'd love to know how you found it?

so the details that I have:
-There were three couples.  one was two shorter women.  they had black backpacks
on and on the packs were yellow stickers that had an army slogan (i.e. "you can
do it").  I remember them as wearing all black as well.  They were rather short
5'5"or less and while I don't want to sound prejudicial my two friends that I
was traveling with (who are both gay) totally thought these two women were too. 
i actually never saw their faces.  i will fwd to my friends and see if they have
any info.  the second couple i think was two younger (20s/30s)guys...will have
to double check.  the third was definitely a guy and a girl (prob. dating). 
they were both white.  she had longer brown/black hair and was really skinny and
wearing a little tank top.  he had a british accent b/c he's the one that said
"" i don't know what you're talking about"  THey looked to be in their early
30s.

I just want to add that Niroo and Kapil are also in this photo. Niroo is the one with the red bandana (not Fuzzie as speculated by most). Fuzzie is actually hidden. She's at the side of Niroo. You can only see her orange shirt with black prints. The one wearing the orange showing his back to us is Kapil, the father of Niroo.

From his first email to me:

I managed to get a couple pictures until they told me not to. I cant remember the exact day but around the 20th or 21st I'd say. I saw them eating scorpions and some other sort of bug and puking them up. There were 2 asian teams I think. Also one girl threw up and another contestant said "Miss India Everyone!" I heard them reading a clue and it was in English. There was a father and son I believe who looked east indian. Everyone I heard talk sounded like they had American accents.

 Y'all are confusing me here  Here is the way I see it...

 I think we may have to call this one extended leg--I am not sure we have time for two pitstops in Thailand?

Documented evidence of teams in Chiang Mai airport 5/22 assumed to be leaving for the next stop. (This date is confirmed by e-ticket info)
