Honestly Adam seems to have a lot of ideas to help out autistic children. He's a good guy, one word slip when he seemed to be angry/on a rant caused some big uproar. There's been a lot of other horrible things said on Big Brother that are on the same caliber of cruelty that was basically not reacted too at all.(Slandering of races, nationalities, etc.)

It's just because Big Brother aired it I think, and it'll be held against Adam for ages.

Just a couple postings from the same website that is bashing Adam, but in Adam's defense...

1) I worked with the MRDD population for 15 years. I also watch the live feeds of Big Brother. It was edited out of context. I think it is more important that he cares about Autism. I believe that actions speak louder than words.
Why lose someone who does a good job?

2) This is his brother! I told my self that I would not get involved in this reality stuff. But I feel that people have trouble understanding TV editing. It was meant to sound like that by the editing of the crew! I can assure you that Adam, my brother, meant no harm by his comment. He was merely trying to get his point across to people that didn’t understand what he was saying! Adam talks very fast and sometimes people don’t know what he said. So in frustration he uses words that get the point across. Please know that Adam is a great person, though I do admit he is a little rough!

3) geez its just a word and the definition simply means: To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede.
whats the big deal? he is going to use the money he wins to HELP autistic kids!! Did you not hear that? I dont know Adam and I work with autistic kids and didnt find it insulting at all. Haters!!

4) wow, I can't believe that people get so worked up over maybe what was a one time slip of the tongue when we was visably upset. I don't think he is a con..there are so many things said by people of importance everyday by people we are electing to office and this is where you spend your time?? I just don't get it

The word "retard" is used as slang to make fun of. It's very hurtful to people that have challenges.  I have a child that is mentally handicapped, through no fault of hers or mine.. Why should she be made fun of and put down. She deserves the respect everyone else does.  I for one, do not appreciate the use of the word as slang. Adam doesn't live in the 70's or 80's. If Adam were serious about the kids he "works" with, I would think he would respect these kids and their parents. I don't want anyone on drugs working with or around my daughter.  Adam was in a positon to help these kids and he screwed up, big time. I have no respect for him.

TL, thats what he said with the retard comment. I believe he said something like "so those retards can get a haircut". Who knows.

I do for one think when Adam finds out he would be the first to say what he did was wrong, and apologize. He does seem like that kind of person. His tears this season have showed that I don't think he wants to see anybody hurting (remember Josh crying over the pizza, who was there with a shoulder? Who asked Sharon to calm him down? When anybody including himself got their HOH letters he cried. We all saw it. I think he will be very upset to find out that he is fired, and you know hes right from being on BB he will get alot of attention. I know I myself have looked more into autism fouondations because of this. When im not pregnant I work with special needs kids doing equine assisted therapy and thats my way of helping them out.

Its not just Adam that should be getting bashed for this. Jen who could be doing great things working as a special needs teacher but because of her mistakes and DUIs got her license revoked. And at her age, I know alot of kids that would look up to her. Not an example I want set for my kids.

My point is we all make mistakes, im not perfect in any way but I try to do the best I can and these people aren't even parents so they don't know what that bond is like. My neice says that im her hero and it freaks me the heck out, because I have done NOTHING important (in my mind) but she has started working at the humane society in her free time, helping train service dogs, working at equine assisted therapy and does softball for the special needs kids and says she wants to be just like me when it comes to sports. Life is hard enough when you don't have people like that looking up to you and depending on you. So I can't fault anybody but it is only human to want to do so when something hurtful is said.

Adam has clearly made some mistakes that will follow him out of BB.

Hopefully he will be able to learn and grow from them.
