Like I said, I didn't see it. I knew people (Allison) would say she was faking. But she has made it known she has it, and the DR (doctor) was to check into it. So I dunno. Then again im sure they thought honey in the slop would be enough kwim?

When I read James clapping, I always think of clapping as a 'good' thing so thats a judgement on my part and I apologize for that. I do think James is agood person, he seems like a sweet guy. And Puddin can back me up on that (gee, its all the he said she said now isn't it - sorry trying to lighten the mood).

Ah Mama, no need to apologize, you are a sweetheart. James was trying to get the producer's attention, they couldn't get the door open. I had the feeds minimized but could hear her talking and heard a thud so I went to look. It was real. I don't think she was breathing during the time when she fell until we hear the gasping.

I give props to James, Alex, Nat and Ryan, they actually tried to help her. Ryan and James turned her over. Alex got the DR door open.

What I don't understand is how the production people could let her lay there without going to trivia and getting help in there to her. Furthermore she had been saying that she needed to eat, she needed bread or fruit. That angers me.

TL I agree with everythign you said there.  Those who tried to help Amanda and rushed right to her aid get big props in my book.  I also don't understand why they didn't cut the feeds sooner and why it took so long for help to arrive.  Amanda was going on for about five minutes about it before she fainted and she did mention something about it last night during BBAD as well.

All I can say right now is two things.  I hope that Amanda is alright, which it sounds like she might be, and i bet CBS is goign to get a bunch of flack for not cutting away and acting fast enough.

On a side note about Allison eatting the peanut, I don't understand why it took so long for her to have an allergic reaction to it.  Aren't peanut allergies fast acting and deathly?  The allergic reaction was at least 2-3 hours after she would have eatten the peanut, which doesn't seem right to me.

Maybe some people react more then others.I do know that a friend of my cousin's died from eating something that had a pecan in it.She was aware of her allergy, unaware of the pecan. She never had a chance it happened so fast.

I know people where I work who are allergic to nuts and seasame seeds and they make sure to check things carefully, but they also have eppi (sp) pens if they need it.  Also I think that an allergic reaction to nuts does occur rather quickly because it causes people's throat to close up from being swollen and that is why they die.  They time frame from when Allison would have eatten the peanut to the time Amanda fainted was too long (to me) for her to have an allergic reaction.

All I know it's been a wild night in the house.

First, JoSharon win POV.

Allison/Shel have a dramatic fight.

Amanda gets called out (dyes her hair in the process).

Amanda faints.

Allison has an allergic reaction to a peanut that was on the ground (definitely longer than the 10 second rule) for quite some time.

Is anything else going to happen for BBAD?

Logically say no.  :'(  Also that all happened in a span of 3-4 hours.

I just think the girl had to have known she was allergic to peanuts.

Maybe there was some kind of funky stuff on the peanuts since they were used for something else. YUCK. For all she knows people could've peed on them, why in the heck would you eat it off the ground. *says the person who ate rock salt on a dare before*

No kidding! And what are the odds that the first peanut she ever decides to eat was laying on the ground? If they never appealed to her before, why all of a sudden that one just started calling"You must eat me!"to her?

Okay guys--medical commentary here.

I am surprised that Amanda is back so soon--I too think she wasn't breathing for at least 15 seconds.

The peanut allergy would not necessarily have to be from eating a peanut. Remember the comp involved a large # of peanuts and she was coughing afterwards. I would expect that this was a contact response to either the peanuts themselves or some preservative perhaps?  And allergies can develop at any time -- even if you have not had a problem before. There is a theory that there is a lifetime response.

And responding to a previous question: kwim = Know what I mean?

In a 24 hour period we see:

Natalie do a strip tease for a number of HG's.

JoSharon win the POV competition.

Sheila/Allison have a major blowup, but they eventually make up.

Amanda faints.

Allison has a food reaction (not necessarily due to peanuts, might be due to slop).

Natalie is now nauseous.

It's just another day on Big Brother.

Ok, I really do think that they will discontinue slop for this season

If both Amanda and Allison can't be on it, it wouldn't be fair to the other HGs.

OMG Sheila is sitll bitching about Adam, PLEASE someone put her up in Matt/Natalies spot.

Wow--after hearing Allison's description of her symptoms I would agree that she was in anaphylactic shock. And she sounds severe enough that she could indeed have died if it wasn't for the quick acting nurse.  :ascared  A contact allergy might not have been so severe....

Personally--I think that that nurse on duty deserves some hazardous duty pay!  Job VERY well done! :yess:

Absolutely considering that Alex saw her face swell and noticed something was wrong with her. The nurse acted very fast with Allison and Amanda as well.

Sheila thinks she's in hell in the BB house.... she's not the one having to listen to her on the feeds.
