Very valid and strong points you included in your post… a perspective to which I agree and disagree with in different ways.
First off, if I recall correctly from the first show where we were clued into the twist, it was sold to us on the premise that we’re in an alliance with Eric. Something about an alliance of 10 million (*cough* don’t think it’s getting those ratings *cough*) or something along those lines. However, at the same token he never seems to get to vote on Thursday. So, on that point I’m a little clouded and why I don’t profess that my perspective is spot on with his game play. At the same time he’s not lying when he says that he did not cast those votes… truth be told, I’m sure he would have voted the other way. So he’s not lying but boy are we making him pay the price of our votes. We have to learn to make the best out of the situation that we’re in… we can’t change course mid-stream.
As we see in BB alliances, you don’t always get your way… you must pick and choose the battle so that you can live another day. We all know that Waamber and Dustin are the people that chucked Nick up first and Eric did see an opportunity to get a strong player out of the game. Honestly, can’t fault him for that… besides, Nick was SO BORING!! I want to see players, not Dani’s shadow… guy never had an original thought. AT first I thought, wow… Nick is playing both sides right out the gate, good show! Then he just curled up and just died up Dani’s butt… sorry, but it’s true. Just like Mike, he needed to get out of there to make room for the gamers. If I wanted to watch a love triangle unfold, I’d turn on All My Children. Seriously.
Still, Eric gets very little from us for our reasoning, which is a handicap that he must deal with. But I’m watching who we’re picking and I’m like… WTF!! For the first time all season, I voted to get Dick put up this past week after reading this board and seeing all the Dustin talk. Let me tell you, I’m not someone that comes to a website to participate in shows… but I’m not enjoying the show when I see the poor guy getting the shaft. So to Eric, and to me, the America’s selections just come out of left field. Dustin is by far the number one reason Eric is still in this game… Did you see how he told Waamber he’d vote to evict Eric… he knew in just hours she would change her mind, yet again. It changes faster than the weather!! So I think he said that knowing he’d never need to follow up on it and had time to get her to sway… we all saw Dustin and Jam jump at the moment she seemed to waver on the whole thing.
Still, since we’ve have the perspective of all that is said in the house (thanks to feeds and Showtime) we can help aid him, but at the same time all those hours in the house he has to do some game play, or he’d look like Mike. He’s a smart enough guy to check the climate of the other house guests and make comments and hope we’ll point him in the right direction. What has Dustin done to Eric but carry him… what advantage would there be to getting Dustin voted out? I say ride that until he can’t… Dustin is a great shield of distraction for the other houseguest… and JUST what Eric needs to keep going and that’s the point we need to do to help him, or am I wrong on that one?
Seriously, you can’t think D/D won’t turn around and put Eric on the block regardless of what deals are made for the vote this week? Even AFTER Dick made a deal with Waamber and Dustin we saw not long after Dick saying that he’d put up Dustin, and that’s when he thought Dustin was voting the way he wanted… Dick can’t be held to his word and he says it without any intention of keeping it... good game play.
Wowser... my posts are really long. SORRY!!
