I have very mixed feelings about taking kids out of the country who are under 12 years of age.  In fact I think 10 is probably the youngest I would even cast for a show like this.

I would think they have already cast season 2.  Maybe the application is still up in case some wonder kid sends in his application at the last minute.

I also saw that "APPLY NOW" link on the CBS Kid Nation page-- here is the link: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/kid_nation_application/kid_nation_2.pdf

I think we have to say that filming in Czech is a rumor only, until we can get more info.

And I agree, leaving the country would change things somewhat.

I never saw the application for season 1(I don't think there was one since they seem to have all been recruited) but on the season 2 one you need a valid passport.

I just don't see CBS taking 40 kids out of the country but that is just my opinion.

Dumb question but don't they need a passport to fly these days anyways? Especially kids who travel alone? My neice has one and shes never been "out" of the country ??? She just flew alone once and had to have it.

I don't think they can take the kids out of the country without their legal guardian.

I would assume that the parents would have to travel to the country with them. CBS wouldn't have kids in their preteens traveling to Europe by themselves without parental supervision.

Let me know who ends up leaving tonight, I thought the guys were better than the ladies. The majority in my house is watching America's Next Top Model.

Well...sorry to say that the chicken died... ;)

And another question answered--there are more Showdowns, so there are apparently weekly chances to change your positon in Bonanza.

Haha Rob!

Blue Team - Upper Class (may have these two first ones mixed up haha)
Red Team - Merchants
Yellow Team - Cooks, again.
Green Team - Labor again.

I don't think that what Taylor was "doing" was right but I do think ALOT of it has to do with her age and the age of her group. Which yes was her choice but there are no older ones to lead them. I also feel like the green team is being bitter towards yellow cause a bunch of young'uns kicked their butts :lol3:

I also think that Sophie (or whatever her name is lol) needs to just lay low. Shes 14 and picking on a 9 year old  Shes soooooooooooo freaking bossy. Im 24 and she gets on MY nerves. Haha!

Oh, and im also glad that Michael got the gold star and not Greg. Yes if that were me Greg deserved it this week killing the chickens for them. But I also think that he would've been back to himself the next week! And we saw Michael say he was doing it for the community (so sweet about the $ for his parents).

I was shocked Emilie did not go home, but liked what she said about what her mom told her.

I don't understand the big deal of her being in the coop though with the chickens. Only upperclass and cooks can be in there. Its not like its going to HURT anything. Im talking about the second time (after the first two chickens were killed) when she went in there!

The chickens bothered me.  I can see them killing the chickens for meat if they were starving and it was their idea.  For the producers to have them kill the chickens for drama is not right.  Those poor little kids having to watch that was mean.  My poor daughter Kelley was crying and she is pretty tough for a 9 year old.

Taylor's "district" doesn't want to do the dishes after the meals? She's got such an attitude problem. My safest deduction was that she would have just gone home with Jimmy in the first episode. She could have used that beauty queen-esque attitude elsewhere! Bonanza City would not be the place for stuck-up kids like her. I know they're the youngest group of kids, but they need to pitch in just as much as the rest of the kids are.

How did they get cameras on the moms during the phone calls? And how did they pick these kids? A big kid with anger issues doesn't seem a good choice.

Hi meeme!

:welcome2: to the forum!

I expect that Production knew from the council who had been chosen in time to get the camera to the Mom...

And you know, I wasn't impressed with Greg at first but he has won me over. Regardless of his motivation, he has worked hard, looked after the little ones, and more than pulled his weight around camp.  He is trying, don't you think?

We put a link to the application upstream--and oh my--such difficult questions for kids!

I do think that Taylor has an attitude but go back to the first episode, they were really TRYING to cook, hadn't eaten themselves and Sophie (or is it Sofia, ahhh) was being a bossy britches THEN. So why would they want to do it again just to get yelled at by her.

And now they show her sitting around while kids from the Green and Blue "districts" are doing the dishes for the Yellow "district". Sure, they're young kids. But they have cookbooks there? If they do, why didn't they use them and try to do it so that nobody starves and has to cut some chickens again!?!

I really believe that Taylor didn't wanna do it because she was cold. The blue district even though they are upper class are suppose to help out where they can. Yet the only reason Greg did anything was for the gold star. If Sophie would've kept her mouth shut then I think that the yellow team would at least try and put forth effort this week. Come on, she complained about them not cleaning dishes when they were eating. Thats totally not right. Shes 14, get over it already!

And honestly I know I for one would not let my 9 year old niece use a knife, especially a knife as sharp to cut that chicken. So I disagree there with them cutting the chickens.

At least Taylor is one of the council members who speaks up. It makes me laugh that everyone (Greg, Sophie, Michael - which notice they are all older??? ) want to replace her but that blue district kid hardly says a word. And all Laurel does is complain, and all the red teams leader does is whine.

There are still so many kids we haven't met yet.  I keep seeing kids we have never been introduced to yet.  I can see where people had a hard time with our season of TAR now getting to know 40 people.

I think Greg deserved the star. They all are motivated by that star now which is a shame.
