How about Goa - fairly close to Mumbai...

Well if India is 2 legs like we suspect, then Goa would be as good a guess as any?

One of my friends comes from Goa. He is married to the minister of my church and they return to Goa annually to visit the in-laws. If we need any info on Goa beyond the obvious tourist stuff, I can obtain it but they leave for India soon after Christmas so there isn't much time.

From what I know of travelogues, Goa is the former Portuguese colony that got turned back to India. It is known for its beaches, its laid-back hippy life-style, and as one enclave of Christian heritage in vast Hindu and Moslem India.

Getting into Goa is easy from Mumbai. Flying time is one hour. There are 4 flights between 510am and 630am and then 13 flights between 1200pm and 415pm. It will be similarly easy to geto out of. If AR12 has to go anywhere other than Delhia or Mumbai, it looks like Goa would be a fine choice.

and the race has never been... to Goa that is

However, if I interpret puddin's comment correctly, the Mumbai area itself is going to be a stop. Anywhere else would have to be a second pitstop in India. Given what we know about the remdinder of the race, the only way that could conceivably happen is if there is no Osaka. I don't believe no Osaka, so I guess that means that no second India leg.
