*SIGH*

CBS adds 'Power' to midseason

By greenlighting six segs now, CBS will have “Power” available for backup when one of its new shows disappoints.

CBess unveiled an appalling monstrosity called "Kid Nation" last night - nothing but an exploitation of children (nothing new for CbeeS.)  Worse even, if that is possible, than the Big Bother which just finished.

No doubt Kid Nation will not win an Emmy, so get with it ceeBS, junk that kiddy stuff and  bring back that five-for-five Emmy-winning TAR  before all your audiences disappear!

I watched for two minutes. Pretty boring. Debuted second in its timeslot, most likely out of curiosity.

its only 6 episodes. we have to see how cane and the unit preform. the until is still on life support even though it got renewed. viva laugnlin will not survive 2 weeks. my guess if things go the way i want it to be is power of 10 replaces kid nation on wed night to go up against deal or no deal. tar takes tuesday at 9, and sundays can go for whatever they want

How about this?  TAR12 follows Survivor in the Thursday, 8 - 9 slot after the last castaway gets his/her million in December?

Well today, the writers guild sent out a notice to its members announcing a strike authorization vote.

This is the real first step in preparing for a strike.  They should have a gauge of the memberships view within 10 days.

Now this isn't a strike vote, but a vote on if htey feel a strike will be a necesary tactic to get a new contract.

CBS’s ‘Jericho’ Could Return Next Month—Or Next Year
“Jericho” fans, get ready to go nuts.

There’s a slim chance the CBS cult favorite could return to the air next month.

The seven-episode second season has wrapped production and the network is eyeing the show as a potential replacement for one of several time periods that might open up in the coming weeks. In other words, if freshman efforts “Kid Nation,” “Cane,” “Moonlight” or the upcoming “Viva Laughlin” tank in the ratings, CBS is considering firing out “Jericho.”

CBS’ other midseason drama, "Swingtown," is not going to be ready until next year, though network also has “The Amazing Race” and game show “Power of 10” available to fill one-hour slots. CBS scheduling head Kelly Kahl cautioned that the new freshman lineup is performing solidly and that no show is guaranteed the next opening.

I heard from a very reliable source the Power of Ten is going to replace Kid Nation if it tanks.  I am still trying to figure out which show TAR is going after.  I do know it is right there waiting to go.

I have been  thinking that at this point they may wait till Jan/Feb to air TAR 12 --mostly just because they don't seem to have any plans for TAR 13 underway--so there would be nothing available for a spring airing if they use it now.  And at this late date, wouldn't a spring airing be better for TAR in terms of publicity and promotion and sweeps?? And seems like Phil is tied up thru Nov 16 so it would be tight to start shooting another race so quickly. But that is all guesswork for me...

Of course, it is always possible they aren't planning another race till they see how TAR 12 does. And I'm always ready to see it whenever--so bring it on!
