I have some very interesting flight information that indicts the travel agent who did the flight arrangements for Eric and Danielle out of Zanzibar. The Guidos had no choice given their "get to the airport ASAP and take anything" mode but to copy what Eric and Danielle were doing. What those teams actually did was to fly to Kilimanjaro International Airort (JRO) onTC7909 departed ZNZ 1955 arriving JRO 2045. What they were attempting to do at JRO was make a 10 minute connection to KL571 for Amsterdam. Any travel agent knows that a minimum bookable connection is much longer than 10 minutes anywhere in the world, so that was an illegal connection to start with. I am totally unsurprised that the KLM airplane captain was not interested in compromising his schedule to accomodate the 4 travellers on that basis.
The really strange thing is that KL571 was travelling first to Dar-es-Salaam before going to AMS and it was not departing for AMS until 2305. There was a Precision Air flight from ZNZ PW451 departing 2120 arriving DAR 2140 that would have been an easy and legal connection. It looks to me that the travel agent cost them big-time, as KL571 arrived AMS at 0710 and might have gotten them on the same connecting flight to WAW as C/M and O/D departing at 0740 arriving 0940. The next later flight was KL1363 departing AMS at 0915 arriving WAW 1110, which still would have been a huge improvement over what actually happened to them.

Question regarding Eric & the Sausage Eating - Knowing that the Guido's couldn't leave until he & D had finished, & knowing that D sometimes gets a little flustered, does anyone else think that maybe Eric PURPOSELY ate at the EXACT pace as D. (To prevent her from feeling pressure - from Guido or anyone else). :hyper:
I know i would have done that with my wife (& 2 feet of sausage would merely be an appetizer for me). :yess:

That really would have been risky on Eric's part especially not knowing what the Roadblock was or where the Pitstop was. Only one person knows the truth about the sausage and that will be a good question to ask him once the race is over.
