'Beauty and the Geek's Pair Up for New Season
More social awkwardness lies ahead
November 28, 2006

'Beauty and the Geek' Season 3A whole new crop of brainy but awkward guys will meet with attractive but academically challenged women in the third season of Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg's ("Punk'd") social experiment, "Beauty and the Geek."

The CW announced Tuesday (Nov. 28) that the reality show will make its two-hour season premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 3 and will continue in that timeslot for eight consecutive episodes.

"In 'Beauty and the Geek,' Ashton and Jason have created a compelling and entertaining examination of how society views appearance and intelligence, and the third edition is easily the best one yet," says the CW's President of Entertainment, Dawn Ostroff. "This series is the perfect companion to seamlessly bridge our two cycles of '[America's Next] Top Model' this season and continue The CW's momentum on Wednesday nights."

The formula for the contest will remain the same: each geek will pair with a beauty for a chance to win a $250,000 grand prize. In order to compete, the women must learn some intellectual skill from their partner, while the men will in turn learn some social skills. In the past, the female contestants have had to learn how to give a speech and read a map, while the guys were challenged with shopping for women's clothes and dancing in front of an audience.

This season promises similar awkward challenges. The guys will brush up on their performance and humor skills to deliver a stand-up routine and then get over their embarrassment and hormonal upheaval when asked to sketch a nude model. The women will have to stay on top of current events for a television newscast and become knowledgable enough to act as museum tour guides.

Here are the names and hometowns of each of the beauties, followed by their respective geeks:

Tori -- Elk Grove, Illinois
Sanjay -- Westminster, California

Sheree -- Live Oak, Florida
Piao -- Lorton, Virginia

Nadia -- Burr Ridge, Illinois
Mario -- Bridgeport, West Virginia

Jennylee -- Sherman Oaks, California
Neils -- Berkeley, California

Cecille -- Los Angeles, California
Nate -- Evergreen, Colorado

Erin -- Chicago, Illinois
Drew -- Chicago, Illinois

Andrea -- Kansas City, Missouri
Matt -- Goldens Bridge, New York

Megan -- Boca Raton, Florida
Alan, aka "Scooter" -- Cambridge, Massachusetts

It's been so long since this show was on air!  I think it was last January that Season 2 premired.

The CW is also showing repeats of the latest episode every Sunday too.  That way you have no excuse if any of you miss it tonight :).

It was on at 7pm MST...so don't you easterners get it at 8pm...same as Survivor?

Whatever, I watched my tape of it and really enjoyed it! I love the "social experiment" concept, and how they teach and learn from each other.
More later cuz I can't remember all their names...and i'm falling asleep!

I'm bummed.  My TV directory shows that we should be able to pick up the CW station, but we don't.  No cable or satellite, just ancient antenna technology.  So, I wonder if the episodes are available for download somewhere.  Anybody know?

I missed it last night because I had to work and my DVR did not record it!   :groan:  BUT, I did just finish watching it from a download online (PM me if you want to know, cause I can't say on the boards).  Good stuff, funny even.

so last night was MUCH Better than the first week.....just in case you missed last night...

I'm not totally liking the direction it is going....Blondes vs Andrea Sheree...

Andrea and Sheree are the only ones that are taking this seriously and they are learning alot and are super smart it turns out!!! Sheree was booted off yseterday...guess the producers want to have the battle of the dumbasses in the end...Cecile is a little tramp i'm not liking her very much after yesterday...Piao and Sheree just fought too much to learn from eachother.  Erin says the dumbest things (well if i remember correctly it was her last night that said the following) they found out they had to learn about flight and space history and she said oh my god this is hard...what if we end up ON THE MOON OR FLYING A PLANE!!!!  COME ON!!! Can it be real? Are they that dumb?!~

I would have to agee, last night's episode ruled.  Mario proved a great point: "The girls are in cliques, while the guys are all not.  The girls could learn something about social interactions from the guys."

I'm glad Sheree & Paio were eliminated.  I never warmed up to them at all.

take a look at the order. the first two are in order of their elimination. did someone goof when they published the list?

Wow, great find cinni!  I never thought about looking up there to see any patterns, seems like I accidently spolied the entire season for you all.   :umn: :groan: :snics:  So it looks like Mario/Nadia is next.  Lets hope not, cause I like those two.

i won't bet on this being the order, it may just be for the first two only. i just thought i'd ask to see if anyone else thought that it was kind of interesting. may not be spoiled yet.

I don't see Megan and her partner making it to the final, she is probably the dumbest girl there. My money would be on Mario and Nadia or Andrea and Matt.

I'm really rooting for Mario and Nadia, because they seem to be genuinely nice people.  Cecille?  Not so much...

I agree. The rest of the girls I don't feel like they are there for the right reasons. Cecille is conceited and the way she acted last week was very inappropriate.

So sorry to see Mario and Nadia go home.  Mario did a great job in the phone number challenge.  He just said he was working on his social skills and managed to avoid sounding creepy.  Nate did better because he actually has a great personality and is the least geeky of the geeks.  Nate won me over when he stopped Cecille from pimping the dog with bracelets around its neck.  The doghouse challenge looked tough, I thought it should have been longer.  Good episode, sad ending.  I guess I am rooting for Scooter and Megan now...
