Thanks so much Linkkums! We loved your sighting...many thanks for checking in with us. If you can think of anything at all it would be a help! Were you able to see what happened to the team with Phil after they talked? DId they run off, hang around, wander off, escorted off by production? Did you see any other teams come in after that one?

Nice work Polaroid!! Thank him for us please!

What do you think that "team" was doing? Odd to see them just hang out, usually that does not happen so wonder what we are seeing?

Lurker for TAR 20, first time posting...Not sure how to do this, but I found a picture at a forum I frequent of Brendon and Rachel in an airport, probably post TAR. It doesn't have any signs of the race, so I wasn't sure if it was worth posting here, but just thought I'd pipe in.

ETA: Oops, saw in another thread after I posted this that someone else had already found and posted the pic.

Polaroid, good work on finding those pictures from Buenos Aires! I took a look through Ricardo's photostream and there appears to be one more image taken with the others. I can save it, so here's the link:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ncabral/6552495217/in/photostream/

It doesn't appear to show any teams, but maybe others will see something in it.

In one of the pic's you see a team in blue.  There are a couple others that be might suspect to be a team.  This could be between teams showing up and Phil kicking back waiting for another team?  Could be after the PS and teams waiting for transportation to their rest accomodations?

Thanks to Ricardo Cabral (ncabral on Flickr) for permission to post these photos. The photos were taken at Centro Cultural Recoleta on November 30 according to his camera. I asked him if he saw any teams and he said no... but I think one photo suggests otherwise. :cmas16

If you look in the background to the middle-left area, you can see cameras and lights... or that's what I think it is. Not sure if it's related to The Amazing Race. But more importantly, if you look towards the middle-right area, you can see a possible team.

I think it might be the same team spotted by indietravel. The blue shirts, black pants and blue backpacks look like they match... That is, if the "team" in this photo is actually a team. :cmaslol

This is the Law Enforcement team from LA.

Their clothing theme was/is turquoise.

Great job Savy. Do you know the colors of the other teams identified?

For me to have anything for the live sightings thread, it's very unusual, but I just received a Google Blog Alert that makes reference to a possible elimination station location.

I'm just going to post the blog link sent to me in the alert (and not quote the blog itself)
http://www.datalounge.com/cgi-bin/iowa/ajax.html?t=11173285#page:showThread,11173285

The timing is a bit confusing, and I don't know if any other editions of TAR were being filmed that might have used that location, since we know TAR 20 finished before Christmas.

Pretty sure that this year's ES was in Mexico...possibly the same place used before in TAR 16 when we saw JJ at the local parade?

The timing is off, can't imagine any logo'd items being used though...maybe a local attempt to cash in somehow? :duno:

Thanks!!

Thanks to Peach for helping clarified the picture

It was December 2nd in LAX : Team Dave & Rachel

He also gave some insight about what was going on at the moment :

Quote

Feel free to share/use the picture.  I saw all of the teams.  I was waiting a flight for Australia as they were coming into the terminal.  I was waiting in line with a couple of young ladies, I believe they called themselves Team Orange. As a big fan of the show, it was pretty exciting to see.  Unfortunately, I only took the one picture.

i'm curious why they are assumed to be racers...?

And they make it to Osaka!!

That's a great pic and good info, ZouLY. I'm confused though. We have photographs of a pitstop in Asuncion, Paraguay on 12/1 and then at a pitstop in Turin, Italy on 12/4.

Since Team Orange (presumably the Tanaka sisters with orange bandanas), and Dave and Rachel Brown were both present in the original LAX pics taken on 11/26, is it possible that these pics were also taken on 11/26, maybe just posted on 12/2?

The fact that this photographer and our original photographer (@horchataa) were both flying to Australia leads me to suspect even more that this may have been the case.

We had a leg between day 1 and 4...almost sure. Why they would stop for 2 days...?

Another confirmation for Bueons Aires:

http://www.brittanyandtriton.com/?p=568

Our flight from South America to Africa was a long and interesting one. We ran into the cast and crew of the TV show “The Amazing Race” leaving Buenos Aires.

The title of the website is misleading "Arriving in Africa: 48 Hours in Nairobi Kenya" however the above is what
we are looking for.

Well that didn't take long. :groan:

NO zach...they were seen in BA. The blogger was on the way to Nairobi...NOT the teams.

Here's a sighting in Buenos Aires from a blog that I've been sitting on for a few weeks because I was hoping the bloggers could be contacted for more information. I was hinting about this one a few days ago in the speculation and discussion thread. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear at this point that they are going to respond, so I'm going to go ahead and post it.

http://derekandtess.blogspot.com/

As we arrived at the Recoletta Cemetery, Derek spotted camera crews and in no time we spotted Phil, the presenter of The Amazing Race ( one of my favourite shows ever!) It was so exciting! After our wander around the cemetery we spotted a couple contestants being interviewed for the show and heard one of the girls complain about the 18 hour bus ride they had just had to endure! We laughed – we’d definitely been there and done that!

At this point, the main bit of information is the 18 hour bus ride. I did some checking back then and the bus schedules showed the ride from Salta to Buenos Aires was an 18 - 20 hour trip. I tried to do it now and didn't have much luck getting working links, so this information is coming from my memory.

The blog also had a picture of Phil and about a half dozen other people huddled around a camera. It's interesting, but it doesn't provide much information about the race. However, if you ever wanted to see a good look at one of the cameras they use, this is your chance.

Interesting, it looks like the camera operator is using one of those things that is a vest with an arm sticking out that holds the camera. He wouldn't want to have to run around holding all of that stuff otherwise!

I'm thinking this isn't the gear that the cameramen following the teams use. This most likely is the gear that gets used at the pit stops and at roadblocks and detours when they can get set up in one area and don't have to worry about running around chasing people.

I was just looking at this pic from Paraguay again and saw it from maybe a different way. I'm thinking that the red is Phil and the greeter, the blue is Ralph/Vanessa, and the purple is the twins.

I agree.

Adding... who is in  the blue box? ???

The question is...are Vanessa/Ralph waiting their turn? Are there other teams behind? Or could they have just stepped off the mat?

All unknowns....
