Pictures are treasured!

I just found that tweet from Juan Ortega too. I think it's highly suspicious as well, but I asked him where his web site is.
I don't think he'd be posting in Spanish from Brazil. Iguacu Falls would be a nice destination, but I don't know if you'd go there through Buenos Aires rather than Rio De Janeiro. From looking at driving directions on Google maps, it's slightly closer to Buenos Aires than to Rio De Janeiro - 1300 km vs. 1500 km, not that they would be driving it.
I tried looking for Juan Ortega on Facebook, but it's about like typing in John Smith. Thousands of hits.

Juliaca is apparently in Southeastern Peru. It was posted while we were trying to figure where TAR was going to in South America and Peru was a possibility. It looks like someone is following our chatter and trying to mislead us. So far, it's been pretty easy to spot.

like I'm trying to do to write this message (I can easily understand, but hardly can speak or write in english)
About the spanish tweet saying about Fox do Iguaçu, it's possible because that is a city close about the border (Argentina and Paraguay), but I personally don't believe in it

Thanks, Guylevesque! You already have helped. I figured that he meant voyage and it was a typo. The tweets he sent come out of google translation in correct English which is different from the ones I translated yesterday, so he may be real person and not someone trying to mislead us. But I'm not going to trust him until I see more details.

The panoramic image of the plaza that someone linked to from paraguay3d.com shows a roughly 10 story building across the street from the plaza and it lines up well with the stairwells in the picture docol posted. Really good work going on right now! I'm impressed.

Ok....first of all, i wanna apologize for no bringing more to the table...i wish i could've done more for you guys, but i wanted you to know that i really tried my best.!
So, airport security didn't allow me to take any photos or get close to the area where the racers were....i saw at least 8 teams it was like 5:23 pm when i saw them at the check in area, specifically at the TAM Ticket Counter...this time i couldn't find out where they were heading or where was their final destination.
There was a lot of ppl surrendering them so i could barely catch them.!!
That's pretty much what happened cuz after that, i went towards them and quickly kicked off....

She saw Phil in Piazza Castello (Torino, Turin) Sunday Dec 4, so we are thinking these were standups so the race itself may have come thru on Monday. She was not able to get back there then. This fits nicely with our Rome airport sighting also on Dec 4.
While I was soaking up the Italian chatter of my friends, one remarked that it looked like they were filming something. This is a very famous square and there seems to be something going on there all the time. I looked closer just to try and guess and saw this pretty picture…

I don’t know what season they are filming or anything. I don’t know what this means or what else they will have to do. All I know is that the Piazza is the “pit stop for this leg of the race.” Yes I heard the words come out of mouth of Phil Keoghran. And that guy is good, but he still did at least 2 takes while we were standing there. He was also helping the crew with lighting and such. Multi talented! I was surprised by how little equipment they had all together.

We're planning to go to an onsen tonight.

TAR was there in TAR12, leg 10, before the racers went to Taiwan. He could by refering to that, however, they just were in Osaka, so it could be possible.

Lurker for TAR 20, first time posting...Not sure how to do this, but I found a picture at a forum I frequent of Brendon and Rachel in an airport, probably post TAR. It doesn't have any signs of the race, so I wasn't sure if it was worth posting here, but just thought I'd pipe in.

In one of the pic's you see a team in blue. There are a couple others that be might suspect to be a team. This could be between teams showing up and Phil kicking back waiting for another team? Could be after the PS and teams waiting for transportation to their rest accomodations?

The timing is a bit confusing, and I don't know if any other editions of TAR were being filmed that might have used that location, since we know TAR 20 finished before Christmas.

Pretty sure that this year's ES was in Mexico...possibly the same place used before in TAR 16 when we saw JJ at the local parade?
The timing is off, can't imagine any logo'd items being used though...maybe a local attempt to cash in somehow? :duno:

Feel free to share/use the picture. I saw all of the teams. I was waiting a flight for Australia as they were coming into the terminal. I was waiting in line with a couple of young ladies, I believe they called themselves Team Orange. As a big fan of the show, it was pretty exciting to see. Unfortunately, I only took the one picture.

That's a great pic and good info, ZouLY. I'm confused though. We have photographs of a pitstop in Asuncion, Paraguay on 12/1 and then at a pitstop in Turin, Italy on 12/4.
Since Team Orange (presumably the Tanaka sisters with orange bandanas), and Dave and Rachel Brown were both present in the original LAX pics taken on 11/26, is it possible that these pics were also taken on 11/26, maybe just posted on 12/2?
The fact that this photographer and our original photographer (@horchataa) were both flying to Australia leads me to suspect even more that this may have been the case.

Our flight from South America to Africa was a long and interesting one. We ran into the cast and crew of the TV show “The Amazing Race” leaving Buenos Aires.
The title of the website is misleading "Arriving in Africa: 48 Hours in Nairobi Kenya" however the above is what
we are looking for.

Here's a sighting in Buenos Aires from a blog that I've been sitting on for a few weeks because I was hoping the bloggers could be contacted for more information. I was hinting about this one a few days ago in the speculation and discussion thread. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear at this point that they are going to respond, so I'm going to go ahead and post it.

As we arrived at the Recoletta Cemetery, Derek spotted camera crews and in no time we spotted Phil, the presenter of The Amazing Race ( one of my favourite shows ever!) It was so exciting! After our wander around the cemetery we spotted a couple contestants being interviewed for the show and heard one of the girls complain about the 18 hour bus ride they had just had to endure! We laughed – we’d definitely been there and done that!
At this point, the main bit of information is the 18 hour bus ride. I did some checking back then and the bus schedules showed the ride from Salta to Buenos Aires was an 18 - 20 hour trip. I tried to do it now and didn't have much luck getting working links, so this information is coming from my memory.
The blog also had a picture of Phil and about a half dozen other people huddled around a camera. It's interesting, but it doesn't provide much information about the race. However, if you ever wanted to see a good look at one of the cameras they use, this is your chance.

Interesting, it looks like the camera operator is using one of those things that is a vest with an arm sticking out that holds the camera. He wouldn't want to have to run around holding all of that stuff otherwise!

I'm thinking this isn't the gear that the cameramen following the teams use. This most likely is the gear that gets used at the pit stops and at roadblocks and detours when they can get set up in one area and don't have to worry about running around chasing people.

I was just looking at this pic from Paraguay again and saw it from maybe a different way. I'm thinking that the red is Phil and the greeter, the blue is Ralph/Vanessa, and the purple is the twins.

Light blue box seems like a cameraman and some onlookers.
I think it is one of those situations where two teams have arrived at once and Phil checking them in at once. It would be odd to have one of them eliminated when they are that close together, in an early leg.

If the second team we see is last, they could be being eliminated, close or not. We just don't know.
