Possibly a local race; or a future contestant of TARA 5?

From her previous tweets, I see that she's going to Bali.

I can't speak japanies, but according to google automatic translator this means:
I come to Japan and Amazing Race participants today. Now go to Narita Airport ...

Maybe this will help.

(MODIFIED) I have confirmed with the source that this tweet is from one of the members of my TAR fan community in mixi.jp.

It says "I heard the Amazing Race participants are coming to Japan today. I want to go to Narita right now..."

He actually lives quite far north, away from the Kanto region, so I don't think he would have made it in time.
Also, he got the information from me, after I posted the details from *THIS* thread onto our community's forum.  So there's a circular reference here...

One of the members on my TAR fan community on mixi.jp actually went to Narita on the morning of the 25th (upon my alert on mixi) and got pictures!  I am going to check with him if he can register on rff and post them himself...

He also said he gave a shout out to some of the racers, and the replied!  (I'll let him post all the juicy details himself - as I cannot claim credit for this sighting)

Stay tuned...!

there were 3 teams I recognized and 2-3 teams I didn't. There was a goth looking couple as well. The mom of the deaf son was talking about another plane that also took off with a bunch of teams on it.

Each team had a camera man....and they were lugging a huge camera. Maybe the size of your Rimowa rolly bag. HD makes sense....I was wondering why their equip was so big. Camera men were all struggling to keep up with the teams.

flt was 70mins late so they were worried that they were going to have to play catch up.

Hi people,

Here's a response I got from @AngelaKwokYee when I asked her what teams were seen on the plane from Hong Kong to Tokyo:

@CityOfBlog mom/son, cheerleaders, dad/son
about 6 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® in reply to CityOfBlog

And someone else received this reply:

@peoplewhowatchamazingrace mm was flying to tokyo. Saw maybe 6 teams. Mom/son, dad/son and cheerleaders. Their flight was 70mins late.

Ok, here are the details from one of the members on my TAR fan community on mixi.jp.  He (not me - I live in Seattle) posted a note on our version of the TAR18 spoiler thread (mirroring this one!) at 2010/11/25 THU 8:26AM JST, with details as follows (translated from Japanese - don't worry, I'm a Japanese native  )

-------
LIVE FROM NARITA TERMINAL 2! (Arrival Lobby)

CX524 arrived 80 minutes late!
The teams that arrived earlier are probably already headed into town.
The SQ flight 538 that arrived via Singapore arrived at Terminal1 around the same time as this one, so there's no way I could spot anyone coming off of that flight.

Just now, Margie/Luke, Kynt/Vyxsin, Zev/Justin and Jamie/Cara (in that order) exited from EXIT B and got into cars that were waiting for them.

The staff members were guarding tightly, so I couldn't quite get close to the racers (I wanted to know where the clue told them to go), but I shouted out

"Go! Kynt/Vyxsin, go!"

and Vyxsin turned around to look at me and flashed a nice smile! :yess:

Jamie/Cara were standing elsewhere, so I got closer to them and called out their name, and they said

"Thanks for recognizing us"

------------------------------------

So there you have it - 4 teams arrived on CX524 (actual arrival time recorded on http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByFlight.do?id=210016261&airlineCode=CX&flightNumber=524 was 7:32AM).

Here's the link to the Narita Terminal 2 Arrival Lobby map (1st floor). If you zoom in, you can see where EXIT B is located (to the lower left of the map):
http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/map/airport_map/t2/t2_1f.html

Not sure if that means the other 6(?) teams were on QF21 - the direct SYD-NRT flight, but that arrived at Narita Terminal 2 much earlier around 6:13AM, so the teams would have rushed out some time around 7:15AM-ish.

Hi, guys.

I'm the one whom kenchan was talking about.
Yes, I went to Narita airport this morning to spot racers according to the info kenchan gave us.

As I mentioned, I attempted to get close to the racers, talk, and acquire info they have.
However, those filming crews were tightly guarding racers as if they were VIP or celebrities.
So, I couldn't even get close within 20 feet or so.
When I tried to picture racers coming out of the exit door, the staff were as if trying to prevent me to do so by surrounding racers and block my shooting.
What I could get was only sneak taken crap pictures out of focus, and racers can be barely identified with them.
It's OK I post them here.  But please don't be disappointed looking at those crappy pictures.

Thanks Kenchan!
Someone saw 6 teams on flight via HongKong,so I think maybe your friend didn't see other two teams.
m unknown...
Racers I could see were; Margie/Luke, Goths, Zev/Justin and Jamie/Cara, and that's it and I'm very positive I didn't miss Mel/Mike or any others.
Every single time racers came out of the door, the cameraman with 2 feet bazooka like video camera on his arm came out prior to racers.
With that sign, all the staff member turned busy and noisy.
That happened 3 times - Zev/Justin and Jamie/Cara came out of the door almost the same time.
After these 4 teams went by, everyone was gone quickly and nobody stayed there after two minutes.
...I felt it was over and impossible to guess where they went, so I went to work instead of spotting them.

here's another tweet from twitter by the name of hilmansiwabessy regarding about the Tokyo leg on TAR 18 and it happened 2 hours ago:

Quote
Ini peserta amazing race bego bgt, kmarin bilang kalo Tokyo itu negara di eropa, skrg dia bilang "I hate reptil, especially mouse" zz tolol

I know it's not English language but I guess there's some detour/road block/speed bump task on that city regarding about reptile and mouse.  Is there a native mouse and/or reptile that's found in Japan or did the teams went to Japan's oldest zoo in Ueno: http://www.tokyo-zoo.net/english/ or that reptile thing is none other than Godzilla?

just a specs. :duno:
