I learned that I had much more stamina than I ever thought I had. I completed
some tasks that I had never dreamed that I was able to do and ah I learned to
travel light, I learned that endurance and determination are probably key
essentials getting through a lot of things.
I always carry in my carry-on bag medications that I need. I have mild
osteoarthritis. I take my Tylenol arthritis pain medicine with me because it
works well, it works fast and it doesn’t irritate my stomach no matter when I
take it. I take extra prescription glasses, things that aren’t going to cause
me any anxiety or discomfort at my destination.
If you are traveling in this country I think it is important to take an extra
prescription with you so that you can get it filled at a pharmacy. But I think
if you carry on, keep them on your person or put it in your carry-on luggage
with you all the time that that is very important.
Well I think people pack entirely too much. I think they become encumbered with
too much luggage. Now a days I don’t think you can depend on people to help you
with your baggage all of the time so I think you need to plan it out very
carefully, coordinate your clothes and pack lightly so you can manage things
yourself.

I would say that if you are going to travel right away and take advantage of
the time that you have see America first. There are so many beautiful places.
This is a wonderful country you really ought to start here. You don’t have to
go to Turkey or India to have a good time traveling.
I found out from practical experience that I didn’t have to take as much with
me or carry as much along as I usually do.
The most often received comment is that ah, they didn’t know how we did it but
that really the idea is to just to get out and try. Don’t be afraid to travel.
I think that that is the best advice I can give to seniors.
