Previously on TAR, 12 TEAMS embarked on a race starting in Munich, Germany! Teams received shocking news by the Scramble, learning the stakes were higher than ever with zero non-elimination Legs. In the first Scramble, Marcus & Michael took an early lead, but saw it slip away. Derek & Claire sawed, smashed, and rolled to victory! Meanwhile, Aastha & Nina stumbled and couldn't recover, eliminating them from the race.

This season, teams are departing in groups of 3 every 15 minutes.

Derek & Claire, Glenda & Lumumba, and Quinton & Mattie leave in Group 1. They must drive to Innsbruck, Austria, famous for its mountain views and impressive architecture. They must proceed to Grinwalderhof to find their next clue.

Glenda & Lumumba have only been married 1 year and been together 2 years. Lumumba says he must learn to get better directions. They ask a gas station clerk and are starting to realize how competitive each other is. Derek & Claire ask a local to map it out for them.

We return to Quinton & Mattie miscontrued their directions by finding Grunwalderhof first before traveling to Group 2 consisting of Linton & Sharik, Emily & Molly, Tim & Rex, and Marcus & Michael departing.

Rex automatically wants to trade... they like each other as partners. Marcus & Michael get along with the golfer and ex-NFL coach and are learning to be more patient and cognizant of each other.

Linton & Sharik find a local for help on directions while Emily & Molly join them in gathering info. "That is so frustrating, how did everyone leave so fast?!"

Derek & Claire navigating currently with a rinse and repeat. Mattie is reading a compass.

We come back from break to the cheerleaders are in for a much much longer road trip. They realize they are roaming the wrong country. I wouldn't be too sure Group 3 is a good safety net.

Derek & Claire reach the farm while Marcus & Michael catch up to Group 1, meaning Tim & Rex are also here! They pick up their next clue.

ROADBLOCK: Who wants to call in the cows?
One team member must properly yodel three songs to receive their next clue.

Claire and Michael respectively do the task.

Glenda & Lumumba arrive at the RB in 4th. They also read the note that they must keep the outfit on for the rest of the leg. Glenda does the task.

Claire tries her first attempt at the RB.

Linton & Sharik reveal their background emigrating from Jamaica to get a better life for themselves. Emily & Molly are making memories after 36 years of missing their other half. The sisters have trouble navigating. They are quickly learning that they have personality imbalances.

Dom is bright and loves being exuberant and authentic. She is a fairy in a mermaid body.

Aubrey is getting emotional about seeing these beautiful terrains.

Michael tries to knock out this RB with his first attempt. Rex thinks he will fail for sure.

Michael got the first yodel correct. Claire and Rex talk about yodeling being their primary way of communication during plays on the field.

Glenda is tongue-tied while Michael goes to Yodel 2 and fails lyrically. Rex too.

One of the most recognizable scenes in film history is the opening scene in The Sound Of Music, where Julie Andrews sings “The hills are alive” on a scenic alpine meadow. Unlike the other scenes from the movie, the meadow scene is shot in Mehlweg which is in Germany. However, this location is only a 30 minutes drive away from Salzburg, Austria where most of the other film locations are.

Rex fails Yodel 3 while Dom cannot get Yodel 1. Emily don't understand the motion on Yodel 1. Linton wants to sing louder and perform with more energy.

Linton & Sharik finish the RB in 3rd! Wow! That was unexpected! Teams still at the task still struggling and making noises. Some are standing in a queue to perform.

Emily wasn't doing the milking motion properly, but says the enunciation were easy. They leave in 4th from the RB! They wish everyone good luck. Claire says it's hard to see teams running out who were trailing them.

Dom sings and gets everything correct sometime during the past several minutes. Her and Rich leave in 7th.

Michelle performs the RB and also gets it right in her first? attempt. Currently in 8th place.

We return to Stiftskeller and Marc & Mike wanting to keep the first place on the table for them. They get it right and leave in 1st from the Detour.

ROUTE INFO: Travel to the interior of the Hofburg Imperial Palace and locate Phil at the next Pit Stop! Last team to check in WILL be eliminated. No more second chances.

Glenda & Lumumba are keeping their enthusiasm in tact and get off the Detour in 2nd place. Emily & Molly and Luis & Michelle reach the task while Linton & Sharik are worried.

Quinton & Mattie are estimating their competition in Team BB and are planning to run their a**es off to stay in the race.

Derek & Claire and Rich & Dom reach the bells. Derek played piano throughout his life and are trying to make up serious ground.

Mark & Mike reach the Pit Stop! "Welcome to Innsbruck, Austria." They are TEAM NUMBER 1! They win Expedia reward points. They get a trip to Lima, Peru. Oh thank goodness.

Tim & Rex reach the parking garage and slowly don their costumes.

Emily & Molly, Abby & Will, and Luis & Michelle are getting into the groove. Emily and Molly can't tell who the "woman" is in the dance.

Derek & Claire finish the Detour in record pace and leave in 4th place. Rich & Dom realize they are the last team there and are trying to get it right as quickly as possible.

Abby & Will try their choreography on stage and are bait and switched with a no, but a perfect performance comment. They receive their clue.

Quinton & Mattie reach the Detour in last. "We need to get it, and we need to get it quick." Dancing is right in their wheelhouse.

Emily & Molly reach the Pit Stop and are TEAM NUMBER 7!!!!! They didn't expect to be on the show racing around the world with a missing sister.

They give a speech as if they were getting eliminated. Rich & Dom are team number 8 however, Dom is missing her hat and must retrieve it in order to check in. Dom believes it fell off while running in the street.

Phil says they still need to retrieve it and Dom then thinks they must re-check their car at the garage for the hat.

Luis & Michelle reach the Pit Stop and are TEAM NUMBER 8! and are still in the race.

Quinton & Mattie are naturally infused with a dance molecule that helps them get the clue on the first attempt! They leave the Detour in 9th. Meanwhile, Tim & Rex finally jumble their way into finishing, albeit in last place.

And Rich & Dom are TEAM NUMBER 9, still safe! Quinton & Mattie arrive after them and are informed after a spiel that they are TEAM NUMBER 10 and are continuing on the race! Quinton releases all the emotions built up after dance literally saved their race. No Dom speech like in the promotions?

Tim & Rex are the LAST team to arrive. They are eliminated and realize artistic tasks on not their forte. Phil was disappointed they didn't get more antics from either of them... 

They leave in a yodel.

I love how the pacing of this leg seems slower from the previous leg, until like yodelling challenge. This episode is real wild and intense until the end and i love it!

Aside the tasks are too artsy (its interesting because all the tasks from the premiere were physical challenges), the tasks give you enough time to catch up with the other teams (or stumble hard).

Also its rare to see phil got emotional at someone's elimination until team T-rex. Someone on reddit pointed out that Phil 's a Jet Fan so it's granted but it is def interesting to see

Well, Cheerleaders were screwed over by a local.  They thought they had to go somewhere in Munich before going to Austria.  Even still, making geography blunders is never acceptable in my race book, and TBH, it's ok to gatekeep in that scenario.

I stayed up to watch the 90-minute Survivor episode live and it was absolutely amazing, the extra content they got to show allowed viewers to really get to know the contestants better. I'm mad excited for their new season now.

TAR's 90-minute ep? I'm glad I went to bed before it started. I've watched it just now and my fears of it being a S26 premiere redux were sadly confirmed. My head hurt from all the out-of-tune yodelling, and due to this leg being so empty, we were forced to endure more of the "singing". That task wasn't even fun to watch, they could've spent half the time they did on it.

All the driving & navigating was great to see, I applaud that part. Q/M getting lost due to there being the same street in Munich as in Innsbruck was quite funny!

But yeah, what horrible leg design with just 2/3 tasks for the teams to complete, and all 3 being music-related

T-Rex were robbed. Just like Phil, I was looking forward to seeing more of them, they had great personalities and stood out from the other racers. There are 3 dancer teams this season, lol? Excitement is cool, but I hope we'll soon see more than just that from like half the teams.

Very disappointed by this leg & episode, total waste of the 90-minute slot, in my opinion, when it could've much better been used for a different leg. How unfortunate.

I stayed up to watch the 90-minute Survivor episode live and it was absolutely amazing, the extra content they got to show allowed viewers to really get to know the contestants better. I'm mad excited for their new season now.

I had the opposite thought. I felt that Survivor dragged for what was a straightforward vote, and despite airing two extended episodes I still don't know much about several of the castaways.

While I agree that once they go to a country they should spread the challenges on different aspects from their culture and requiring skills set aswell, I likes this leg. First off, without the scramble twist, I could keep track on the teams/ know them way better. Also, there was alot teams swaping places either because of navigation, challenges skills or read your clue rule (I was expecting more teams to miss that). As far the teams, so far, this seems to be one of the most likeable cast across the board (so far none comes of as umpreasent to watch). Sure, some are starting to stood out more while some are still fading in the background. But for me, this is the episode that started my connection with the season.

I couldn't put my finger on what was different or off about this cast, and I think I realized it after watching this episode: the teams this time around are the most "regular" or "average" we've had in years IMO (giving shades of TAR 19 or something). Does anyone else feel this way? Almost none of the teams feel like they're camwhoring or playing up to the cameras - I think a lot of these teams are actually more comfortable being themselves in front of the camera instead of typical recruited teams of social media fame who have these "reputations" to protect.

And a lot of them also do not look like supermodels, which is super refreshing for a change. I love seeing Abby being excited to Race, Linton & Sharik's sweet father/daughter storyline, and the twins are pretty self-explanatory. And I don't remember the last time we had such a messy, chaotic individual racer like Dom -- she gives me Rachel Reilly/Flo/Brooke vibes, only she and Dom have not really proven themselves to be too competent thus far...

I feel like we have a great balance between all the teams' dynamics. Glenda & Lumumba are my favorite team this season so far! And I was slightly impressed by Rex keeping a level head for most of their edit because he is quite an aggressive figure in the NFL world. I guess the Race has a way with taming people even for a moment. Then again, this cast still is reach from our "average" casting selection with high-profile dancers, Rex, and the Big Brother team in the mix.

I did notice in this episode we were getting hyperfocused background stories from the teams who didn't get enough screen time or were brushed over in the Scramble leg so that may have been in play.

Taking back what I said last week about the cast being underwhelming!

I couldn't put my finger on what was different or off about this cast, and I think I realized it after watching this episode: the teams this time around are the most "regular" or "average" we've had in years IMO (giving shades of TAR 19 or something). Does anyone else feel this way? Almost none of the teams feel like they're camwhoring or playing up to the cameras - I think a lot of these teams are actually more comfortable being themselves in front of the camera instead of typical recruited teams of social media fame who have these "reputations" to protect.

And a lot of them also do not look like supermodels, which is super refreshing for a change. I love seeing Abby being excited to Race, Linton & Sharik's sweet father/daughter storyline, and the twins are pretty self-explanatory. I wouldn’t really call some of the dancers high-profile — within the dance world, sure, but I sometimes look through the Racers’ Instagram accounts and noticed that Mattie barely uses Instagram, which surprised me. Abby and Will post once in a blue moon — it’s just so refreshing once again that the cast isnt full of wannabe influencers/famous people, the ratio is definitely a little lower compared to recent seasons.

Did anyone catch how Phil explained the Roadblock, then Derek & Claire started the task, and then there was a confessional of Claire repeating the instructions ("In this task, we had to...")? I hope this BB Diary Room style editing doesn't spill over too much into TAR.

Agreed that this leg was music-heavy, but at least all the challenges were skill-based.

Sad to see T-Rex go, but with no non-eliminations, it has to be someone every week.
