AND we are on the air!

Previously on TAR, 6 teams continued their Corsican journey in Bonifacio! Lulu & Lala got off to a queasy start while at the Detour, they and Arun & Natalia were stuck. Ryan & Dusty also sunk! Penn sewed up the RB on the way to a second win in a row. Meanwhile, a foot race to the mat ended in smiles for everyone. Arun & Natalia received just another chance to race.

All teams leaving to Thessaloniki, Greece! Upon arrival, teams must stagger start in Pereia Beach. Raquel & Cayla and Kim & Penn are 1st to depart from the beach. Teams must travel to Constantinos Olive Farm in Nea...???

We start off prettily rockily with Raq struggling to fire up their stickshift. Kim & Penn race out just in front of them.

We return for advertisements to the 2nd staggered group leaving from Pereia Beach! Lulu & Lala and Ryan & Dusty leaving to Nea Gonia, there we go. Dusty believes they will get an opportunity to groove and shake with their skill sets. Lulu & Lala think it's going to an adventure kind of day, wanting to be patient and wanting F-U-N.

Kim & Penn arrive at the olive orchard along with Raquel & Cayla. Penn sees the clue!

ROUTE INFO: Drive to Nea Gonia... aren't they already there?

Raquel & Cayla have to piggyback to get the clue. :funny:

Arun & Natalia leave in last with 30 minutes behind Ryan & Dusty. They continue to struggle with manual and talk about their disastrous experiences from prior. Meanwhile, the twins and the best friends get to the olive orchard. Lulu immediately sees and sprints to the tree, pointing it out. They get a ladder while Dusty leaps for it.

Marianna's Vineyard is the next location that Raquel & Cayla and Kim & Penn arrive at.

ROADBLOCK: "Who loves to wrap?"
One team member must make 16 dolmathes *stuffed grape leaves" to receive their next clue.

Kim reveals she has a Greek friend who loves making these and regrets not participating in the cooking process. Raquel loves eating dolmas. Meanwhile, Arun & Natalia quickly find the olive orchard. Arun reaches for the clue, fails, and gets a ladder instead.

Lulu & Lala and Ryan & Dusty arrive in 3rd and 4th at the vineyard.

Dusty says he rolled a lot of a burritos with Lala saying patience is key. Dusty says this is like rolling cigars, well... insinuating.

Kim realizes she has wrapped them inside out and continues to fix them.

Arun & Natalia arrive at the RB and

Raquel goes for a check and half of her stash is disapproved.

Kim gets a check and she arrays them incorrectly. She fixes them and is on the way. "She is super picky."

ROUTE INFO: Teams must travel to Mamo's Kantina Stand in Heraklea and order a souvlaki, spelling it correctly, and get the clue from their parchment sheet directing them to St. George's Church.

Dusty gets his dolmathes approved and leaves in 2nd. He saw Raquel continuously making errors by wrapping it the incorrect side. Lala gets the clue in 3rd after getting her batch approved.

Arun goes up for a check and gets approved! Natalia and him move up to 4th. Raquel still cannot figure out the method to this madness. She notices the leaves may be the problem.

Arun feels good about leaving ahead of another team.

Raquel wants to not get frustrated and is second guessing her batch again methodically.

We come back to Raquel realizing the stems are on the wrong side and finally gets hers approved! Her biggest fear is losing and epic classic TAR music plays.

Penn wants to let Jesus take the wheel and arrives at Mamo's. Kim asks for the special dish of the day, souvlaki, and spells it right on the first try. Penn and Kim are infatuated with the souvlaki and says this is like eating at home with the kids. Penn throws away the parchment and they can't figure out why they don't know what they were supposed to do.

Meanwhile, Lulu & Lala are lost.

Penn realizes his mistake and leave to St. George's Church. Ryan & Dusty get to Mamo's.

Dusty knows how to spell it, but first has to write it down. They also get Penn'd at first and are leaving to St. George's Church in 2nd.

Kim & Penn arrive at the church and find the clue box.

ROADBLOCK: Who wants to be iconic?
The other team member must listen to a priest during his sermon and identify the five saints referenced in chronological order to receive their next clue.

St. Nicholas is the first deity told. St. Anastasia is the second one.

Penn tells about his secret superpower of ADHD hyperfocus.

St. Irene is the 3rd. St. Christopher is the 4th.

He is absorbing all the info at once.

And lastly, St. George is the final deity which they have to memorize. Kim says it's taking bizarrely long. Penn asks the priest to start over and told not to tell the priest what to do. :funny:

Lulu & Lala are severely lost and epic race music plays. Arun & Natalia ask for directions. And Raquel & Cayla find the kantina.

Lulu & Lala are continuing on the original route to the next destination.

Raquel writes down souvlaki before spelling it. They get their meal and chow down. They get Penn'd.

Arun & Natalia arrive just as Raquel & Cayla are lost in translation. They find the parchment note, but don't know if that's the actual location. Arun & Natalia spell it wrong. Raq & Cayla ask for directions to the location.

Penn is quizzed on the saints and references his Cliff Notes mentally.

We come back to Lulu & Lala confused on how they made their own Fast Forward to the Pit Stop. They try not to panic on their way to Mamo's.

Meanwhile, Ryan & Dusty arrive at the church in 2nd. Ryan has to do the task which Dusty reveals he is a history nut.

15-minutes is a long time to have to repeat; I'm reserving judgement on the task until more teams after Penn complete it because he made it look pretty procedural.

The leg also seems kind of linear, but that may just be due to Penn & Kim not making any mistakes. They seem to be navigating pretty easily, unlike other teams.

Dusty assures he is the right guy to do the job while Ryan jumps the gun on the sermon. He is completely guessing the order on the first try. He has 2 correct, but 3 incorrect. He has to go back and take the lecture.

Arun & Natalia finally get info on how to spell souvlaki and get Penn'd as they can't find their clue on the parchment.

Ryan looks like he is about to fall asleep. :funny:

Raquel & Cayla reach the church in 3rd place. Cayla has to perform the task. She meets up with Ryan in the sermon.

Cayla references the saints with a backstory of her own while the priest gets pissy with Ryan as he tries to leave early again. :funny:

Arun realizes he threw away the paper to St. George's Church and leave in 4th. Lulu & Lala finally get to Mamo's. Wow, they skipped 2 whole tasks. :funny: They have trouble spelling it.

Kim & Penn arrive on the mat and ARE TEAM NUMBER 1! They win $7,500 each! Kim says this is their third leg in a row while Penn is focused on the final 3.

Lulu & Lala ask a lady walking with a charming dog on how to spell souvlaki and get their meal.

Lulu & Lala also get Penn'd and don't understand what they need to do.

Meanwhile, Arun & Natalia catch up to the flight attendants and best friends. Ryan is in a sitting position now.

Lulu & Lala push through their second souvlaki with Lulu in tears and near casu martzu levels of sickness. Now this is a task.

Kim & Penn are almost unstoppable! :o

Kim & Penn is Justiin & Diana in terms of race preparedness, they are so throughout in almost everything

We come back to Lulu & Lala regenerating their souvlaki fiasco. We get foot race to the Pit Stop music. Lulu and Lala throw away their second parchment. :funny:

Ryan tries his second attempt at the saints and reveals his time in prison has him rebuilding his brain. He gets all his saints in a row and get their clue in 2nd.

Cayla gets it right on the first try! Incredible!

Arun is feeling the pressure while Lala finally finds the parchment. "Did I get sick for nothing?"

Natalia is incorrect on 3 out of 5 on the saints on her first try.

Ryan & Dusty ask for directions while Raquel & Cayla drive pass them.

Raquel & Cayla reach the mat and are TEAM NUMBER 2! Raquel reveals their fluctuating placements is a testament to how tough they are.

Ryan & Dusty are TEAM NUMBER 3 on the mat.

Meanwhile, Natalia does her second attempt. She is correct! They leave in 4th.

Lulu & Lala get to the clue box at the church with Lulu getting a montage of how long she is at the sermon. 12 minutes elapsed.

Meanwhile, Arun & Natalia get progressively more lost and end up in pure countryside. "We don't have time to lose right now."

Roadblock vs. navigation.

Lulu gets her first attempt correct, woah, these teams are powerful in memory this leg. They leave the second RB in last.

Arun & Natalia ask for directions from a local photographer. "It ain't over til the fat lady sings."

And... ARUN & NATALIA arrive on the mat and are TEAM NUMBER 4!

Lulu & Lala arrive on the mat and are the LAST TEAM to arrive. Unfortunately, they have been eliminated from the race. They are proud and thankful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They are appreciative of visiting countries they've never gone and the overall experience.

Lulu & Lala want to walk the pier and dive into the marina water.

The clue on the wrapper reminded me of TAR13's second Moscow leg- always fun to look back on that season- and therefore had my immediate approval.

Finally a leg with a tough mental task.
The hidden clue and both RBs that did require some attention to detail. Great leg.
Sad to see the twins go, but enjoyed the final editing, trying to suggest they might be able to catch-up.

They performed way worse than Kaylynn & Haley in my opinion. The blondes really struggled during the Asuncion - Paris - Berlin arc but they excelled in some legs (Manaus / Almaty) to compensate. But Arun & Natalia struggled almost every leg except London 2  :groan:

i actually wonder how LuLa didnt search of everything including the wrapper that related to the task. i get that jet lag + exhaustion are things that play the factor but you gotta be making sure to check everything that related to the task.

tbf they are a decent team regarding to them performing tasks but they are definitely the weakest team in term of navigation, like really really bad. they could have been done better in TAR 27 imo. they are dandrew when it comes to navigation

Well, that was a very unpredictable leg with a lot of great moments from all the teams. I'm beyond impressed by Kim & Penn's performance lately - seems like teams are not so threatened by how well they are doing. It's like their race to lose at this point. Notice how no other team had shown up when they finished the second Roadblock. Penn's hidden superpower would definitely be beneficial in a final memory task and I'm curious what the next leg's tolling task will be.

Solid Greek leg!

Penn has an eidetic memory which reallly boost them when it comes to mental tasks like memory task. Penn is definitely one of the best racer in the recent memory imo

It's funny because Ken & Tina said in S13 first Russia leg that Dandrew did well at travelling. They just really struggled with the tasks.

Loved the clue on the souvlaki - making the racers think outside the box to get the next clue is usually a bit of fun (remember the theater in Armenia?)

Ryan jumping the gun at the second Roadblock was a microcosm of his team's desire for quickness. However, it was actually navigation that dropped the two from second to third at the Pit Stop.

Lulu/Lala jumping into the water was an endearing exit.

Overall, I liked the leg - there were plenty of placement changes and we got a good peek into the Greek culture.

Certainly the most mentally taxing leg so far as we are nearing the end. The leaf veins, wrapper clue, and long sermon did a good job at tripping up teams. Also loved the quippy priest and stone-faced Dimitra. Lulu and Lala were a lot of fun, and I'm glad they went as far as they did.

Arun & Natalia said in their recap that some of the clues in the olive trees were empty "dummy clues". The description glossed over that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMevZaZ_ZQ0
