And we are on!

Previously on TAR, 6 teams set out to continue their Swiss adventure in Lugano! In a terrifying Roadblock, Sheri conquered her fears! But her victory was short-lived at the Detour. "Shut up!". Best friends Ryan & Dusty powered through the leg with a second win in a row. Meanwhile, Arun & Natalia had an unlucky day, but had a reason to celebrate on the mat with a non-elimination.

Ryan & Dusty takes a peak at their Travelocity-sponsored trip before departing with the rest of the teams on a charter flight to "destination unknown". Penn & Kim are sizing up the competition and see Ryan & Dusty as the biggest strengths that the only fault is themselves.

They are flying to Corsica!

We return to teams starting at Pont Altu. Teams must travel to Belvedere de Corte to find their next clue and a canister of fresh goat's milk which they will need for either side of the Detour.

Ryan & Dusty and Lulu & Lala leave in the 1st group with the guys feeling like they are enemies number one.

Kim & Penn and the flight attendants leave in the 2nd group.

First group arrive in Corte! Kim & Penn get a 15 minute ETA to the location and Kim decides she wants a new fun personality.

Akbar & Sheri's game play is to be more in sync.

DETOUR: Say Cheese or Mule Please
In Say Cheese, teams must produce 3 baskets of a popular fromage in the old-fashioned way to receive their next clue. In Mule Please, teams must strap a canister on their new pal to a fromagerie without spilling their milk to receive their next clue.

Both decide to do the cheese.

"Group" 3 of Arun & Natalia depart in last. They are 30 minutes behind and Natalia is PUMPED!

Having teams so close to each other time wise. does leave very little space for mistakes, provided the challenges are designed accordingly. Teams on the back can catch-up, if someone on the top screws-up.

Lulu & Lala and Ryan & Dusty see antique ATVs and they must drive to the fromagerie. Dusty knows how to make cheese and tells Lulu & Lala that which they also oblige since they can just follow them... okay.

Akbar & Sheri get their Detour clue in 5th.

Raquel & Cayla decide to follow Kim & Penn to the mules because they think four heads is better than two....

Arun & Natalia are last to arrive at the Belvedere, they do Say Cheese.

Dusty explains the science behind making cheese. And this is Good Eats!

Raquel & Cayla deliver their mule and leave in 3rd place.

Ryan is extremely discouraged.

One team member must slip and slide their way through a riverbed obstacle course and search for their next clue.

Penn makes it to the natural slides and identifies their next clue around a crevice. Lulu & Lala and Raquel & Cayla arrive at the Roadblock and begin gossiping about Ryan & Dusty.

Ryan & Dusty leave the Detour in last.

Raquel and Lala perform the actions together and find the clue at the crevice, helping each other...

Kim & Penn reunite. PIT STOP CLUE!

Teams must pump an inflatable kayak and row it to Cardiccia Dam and find Phil at the Pit Stop. Last team to check in may be eliminated.

Akbar & Sheri and Arun & Natalia reach the Roadblock in 4th and 5th.

Ryan & Dusty put it in overdrive.

Akbar is absolutely out of breath as he dons restrictive clothing. Arun surpasses him.

Ryan & Dusty reach the clue in last. It's everyone's task to lose now.

Kim & Penn reach the kayaks. She is intimidated as the only thing she's blown up is a beach ball. They are on their way to the Pit Stop now.

Lulu reunites with Lala and go to the Pit Stop in 3rd. Arun and Akbar pick up their clues while Ryan is quickly moving through the course asap.

Honestly impressed that the canyoning task was physical enough that teams could pass each other. I was worried we've have another linear stunt-type task; even the canyoning task in TARAus5 was uneventful.
I suspect that's why they had teams kayak to the Pit Stop, and I'm glad to see a little extra task to cap off the leg.

another great leg overall, both detour tasks require paying attention in different context which is good thing ~~tho im a bit disappointed that there wasn't any team melting down over an animal dram~~

. the rb is physical but not linear, altho we kinda see the task before on tar 31. the kayak task to the pit stop is a good additional task as well.

For as overused as France is by the show, it's crazy that it has been 17 years since the last visit to Corsica.

This was such a close competition, and I loved that. The cheese Detour wasn't favorable to impatient teams. The mule task was more of an attention to detail task than an animal task. It was easier but the cardinal rule of avoiding animals sent many teams to cheese. The canyoning looked so cool yet was physical enough so racers could pass. The kayaking was a good extra detail for getting to the Pit Stop.

Loved this leg. Felt really old school with the tasks and layout of the leg. Pity they didn't have teams self-navigate during that final bit from the canyoning to the kayaking. Could have provided some fun. I am enjoying the Race, and although I will always pine for flight drama, even if it's Race created (like having two flights for them to book onto), I think in this new era of the show it is a good way forward to charter teams.

With Leg 7 being Corsica too, looks like we must have a two-hour double episode somewhere coming up to fit the schedule!

One final little thing - loving no U-Turns! Hope we only see 1 this entire season! I personally prefer a 15-20 minute Yield anyway.

As to next week, there is no way in hell I'd eat live maggots after once reading about a condition called Myiasis (don't Google it). Basically it's where someone ends up with them under the skin, usually by a fly laying eggs.

They actually name in KolTony. It’s a combination of their current boyfriends names, being Kolton & Tony. Cayla threw that out there, and Raquel actually thought it was lame .

Ryan & Dusty being able to catch up was a combination of not only their hypercompetitiveness, but the task profile of the second half of the leg allowing for team movement.

Have we ever seen mules be this cooperative with teams before? The show didn't show them providing much resistance, and it appeared that Mule Please was the quicker task.

The shot of Ryan & Dusty jumping back on the vehicle was a great lead-out to commerical.

Sad to see Akbar & Sheri eliminated; it's a reminder that tasks seem a lot easier when you're watching from home than they are out on the racecourse.

Couldn't blame anyone for placing Ryan & Dusty as the favorites right now, but all but one of the other teams are family. Are family ties an advantage in communication, and will that make a difference in the legs to come? We'll see.

For as overused as France is by the show, it's crazy that it has been 17 years since the last visit to Corsica.

This was such a close competition, and I loved that. The cheese Detour wasn't favorable to impatient teams. The mule task was more of an attention to detail task than an animal task. It was easier but the cardinal rule of avoiding animals sent many teams to cheese. The canyoning looked so cool yet was physical enough so racers could pass. The kayaking was a good extra detail for getting to the Pit Stop.

It's better than Big Brother where they describe comps verbatim twice.

I was surprised that there was no meltdown involving the animals. Over the years, we've seen teams either fall at the back of the pack or get eliminated just because of certain stubborn animals.

If you look up the Detour location on Google Maps, they didn't have far to take the mule. Over a hill and that was about it. A longer distance, then maybe they would have started to get cranky.

Natalia is definitely a superfan, she chose the "cheese" detour given that tasks involving animals is risky. She knows her TAR history.
