THE RACE RETURNS!!

IMPORTANT! Even though we are a spoiler board, we do NOT want to have the episode spoiled while it is airing.

SO PLEASE ** NO OUTCOMES ** to be posted before the show is DONE airing East Coast time!

And to protect the unspoiled, NO FUTURE SPOILERS EVER!

I don't know about the rest of you, but this is probably the episode I've been most looking forward to since the premiere? I'm really excited to see how TAR picks up after the 19 month filming suspension and what types of changes the productions have had to make?

I'm also looking forward to seeing how some COVID protocols are in use for the rest of the season (such as masks, social distancing, etc) and of course, I'm looking forward to seeing TAR's big charter plane!

Interested to see how teams will deal with more self-driving. Will they be allowed to ask for directions? SO intriguing....

And we are now on the air!

Previously on TAR, 10 teams continued racing to Glasgow, Scotland. Along the way, Akbar & Sheri stalled out! While Kim & Penn performed all the way to the top. Meanwhile, Arun & Natalia made costly mistakes that ended their race and were eliminated. "This is the best experience any father could hope for." In an unprecedented first, the race was suspended!

After 19 months and a safe plan in place, teams will restart in St. Gallen, Switzerland!

All are welcomed back to TAR and the world is waiting for them yet again. They are alerted teams are missing because not everyone had the ability to come back and race due to circumstances of their own.

Arun & Natalia and Michael & Moe come sprinting back again. The rest of the teams are speechless for a second before Kim says "because they came back, we can begin the race". Ryan jokes about his incarceration experience in a lighthearted way while Natalia is excited to be back. Raquel & Cayla got furloughed. Lulu & Lala broadcasted their radio show through their basement and their grandmother passed between the suspension in filming and is racing in honor of Granny.

Phil alerts them that they will be avoiding public transportation and will be more reliant on self-driving. Their first location is Museumstrausse (Museum District) where they must get on chartered buses to their next location.

ROUTE INFO: Go to Schwagalp and ride the gondola up 8,000 ft above sea level to pick up your next clue!

We return from commercials to teams riding the buses to the mountains. 1st Bus: Ryan & Dusty talked about hiking in Colorado and polished their skillset before continuing the race. Kim & Penn hope they see another dance challenge and are excited to return, showing their kids they want to finish what they started. They consider themselves a very close-knit family.

2nd Bus: Michael & Moe and Arun & Natalia want to make the most of their return on the race. They promise not to be the first team eliminated again.

Last Bus: Akbar & Sheri do not like heights. "If we skydive, we dyin'." Akbar wants to be more patient this time around, putting aside his coach mentality.

Teams are taking in the views of the countryside.

Sheri took the lead for the Roadblock and is terrified. First chainlink of racers start the via ferrata. Ryan explains the task and teams are trailing. Sheri is keeping her eyes on the ground to prevent a panic attack.

Ryan and Lulu are in the lead on the trail as they continue to a more dangerous portion of the ridge. The music is back to the adrenaline rushing tunes I love and am used to. Beautiful! Ryan's calves are "bowling balls stuffed in onion sacks."

Ryan and Lulu get their clues first and are going back up to their partners. Raquel and Penn are 2nd in line.

Penn describes the view as breathtaking saying he would stare at it for 2 hours. Meanwhile, Penn passes the first group of racers while Moe retrieves his clue. Sheri is slowly, but surely getting to the top of the mountain. She is stuck on something and is freaking out. Penn is genuinely worried.

Ryan returns to Dusty breathing heavily. Sheri is breathing even heavier as she continues to traverse in the high altitude. Other teams from the clue box are coming back.

Penn & Kim read the clue in second while Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala make up a huge lead in 3rd and 4th. Raquel & Cayla and Michael & Moe leave in 5th and 6th.

Sheri is still moving.

Everyone is on the gondola back while Sheri finally makes it to the ridge. They are dead last and the clouds begin rolling in again. She is pushing while the rocks are more slippery now. She needs to take small steps while the fog settles in.

Considering the low bar that stunt and heights-based tasks usually fail to clear, I like this one! While it is hard to pass, Ryan and Penn were able to cut ahead and the climb seems physically taxing. If only teams weren't bunched by the gondola afterwards. Hopefully the driving portion spreads teams apart a bit.
