In TAR-related news, I am incredibly confused what's going on at CBS primetime tonight. Word through the grapevine says a special will cut out the fifth episode supposedly starting at 8PM and move it to next week.

CBS has tweaked their primetime line-up (as have other networks) to accommodate special election coverage at 10pm ET.

Deadline is reporting TAR will only air ONE episode tonight at 8pm with a SWAT repeat airing at 9pm. But the CBS website and press website still shows both TAR episodes will air. Deadline might be incorrect.

CBS will air its regularly scheduled episode of The Amazing Race from 8-9 PM, followed by a S.W.A.T. repeat from 9-10 PM and then a live special, CBS News 2020: America Decides – Still Counting, at 10-11 PM ET. The special will air from 7-8 PM on the West Coast. Another S.W.A.T. repeat will air from 10-11 PM in the West.

Also, breaking news could affect the schedule further. So be on the lookout and stay tuned! NOT YET CONFIRMED!

AND WE'RE ON THE AIR!

Previously on TAR, nine teams traveled from Bogota, Colombia to the Amazonian city of Manaus, Brazil! Will & James officially forged an alliance and set their sight sets on Leo & Alana. The alliance proved valuable while a major mistake sunk Jerry & Frank early. In a tribal village, Will & James angered Alana with a U-Turn while Kaylynn & Haley returned a favor to help their friends. Will & James arrived 1st while Jerry & Frank were eliminated. 8 teams remain. Who will be eliminated next.

We come to teams spending the night together on the boat. Alana goes into "supervilana" mode.

Will & James depart at 11:11 PM 1st. Travel to Asuncion, Paraguay and find your next clue at the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura!

Will & James and Hung & Chee arrive at the airport and work together to find the quickest flight to Asuncion. Kaylynn & Haley depart in 3rd and talk about moving out of their childhood homes early. Volleyballers depart 4th and talk about the parallels between their professional life to the race. DeAngelo & Gary arrive as Eswar & Aparna read their clue.

Aparna believes Paraguay is in Africa. :funny:

Leo & Alana realize everyone will be on the same flight.

I have no clue why they are going through all this trouble just for an alliance. I'm surprised the "outsider" teams haven't caught on to this especially when they were all together on the boat during the rest period.

I don't mind teams working together from time to time, after all it does make sense to help each other when you're ahead to maintain that lead.
But I would also prefer to see each team run their own individual race.

We return to teams arriving in Asuncion and they break free from the floodgates of the airport to score taxis. They react like seagulls. :funny:

All teams in a mad rush to the orchestra and it's like classic TAR again! Michelle & Vic's taxi driver doesn't know where it is and they have to switch. Will & James' driver doesn't know either. They get out as Michelle & Vic enter another taxi. Leo & Alana are happy they are struggling as they pass them.

Eswar & Aparna are reminded of India with the rural qualities of Asuncion.

Riley & Madisson and Eswar & Aparna arrive at a weirdly shaped clue box. ROADBLOCK: Who is feeling instrumental? One team member has to repurpose items from a landfill to construct a working cello. Eswar and Riley work on the RB.

Eswar believes his software engineering skills will work for fabricating a cello? ???

Will & James arrive 6th.

Teams huddle around the example cello and are explaining the RB.

Kaylynn & Haley's taxi is completely lost and their driver reveals the road ahead is closed and they must go the wrong way. Michelle & Victoria are in the same boat. Pit Stop foot race music plays as they comment on the driver leaving the taxi unattended to ask a nearby resident with a cheerful dog directions to the orchestra (or a friend).

Dang, Paraguay looks extremely rural and third worldly. I know they had entourage with shotguns in Bogota, but personally this seems more unsafe.

I fear one of the sister teams will not be able to recover this leg :(

We return to Kaylynn & Haley's taxi disaster where they narrate as if their life is on the line. Meanwhile, Michelle & Victoria arrive 7th at the RB. Leo tries to start drama with James while Hung, Eswar, and James are helping each other. Again.

Michelle carries in a huge drum reciting the alphabet. :lol: They reveal they are well-tuned to the symphony.

DeAngelo gets an APPROVAL and has to deliver the cello to the nearby recital hall to listen to a performance before he could receive their next clue.

ROUTE INFO: Travel to Terere Vendor at Mercado 4! Yield ahead! Get yo' hourglass ready!

Meanwhile, the blondes arrive in last with Kaylynn doing the RB.

DETOUR: TAR20 Switchback - Stack watermelons 10x10 pyramids (Bopper & Mark and Rachel & Dave throwback), and bottle dance (Art & JJ switchback, disappointed but not surprised)

All other teams are working on the cello. Kaylynn is completely confused at the sight of the construction. James finishes and is currently in 2nd place.

DeAngelo and Gary arrive at the watermelons and immediately start "Claire"ing the watermelons. :funny: Will & James choose not to Yield and muddle the terere.
