It's very possible that we have 14 teams for some odd reason.

The Newells may have been eliminated in Newell, Queensland :funny: and we have that beard team that came after the 12 team bucket challenge.

I don't think this salvage team twist is as black and white as we think it is.

My current thought is could the eliminated teams possibly be running DECOY?? ???

I agree that we have 14 teams.

I compared sightings with promo and you can see bearded man legs in the promo (t-shirt and shoes are matching with photo of them we have).

I reviewed buckets video once again and you can see gap between Team 11 and Team 12 buckets. So I believe beards were doing that challenge and were using that bucket/helmet when the video was taken.

Newells are first boot for sure. I am still speculating that they are victims of starting line/midleg elimination. Team 12 probably came last 1st leg to pit stop but was saved by salvage pass.

If there are 12 legs as usual that would mean no NELs, I am assuming. WOW, I am here for it.

That's definitely never been done before. Could be an interesting experiment.

Beards might be Sikh as well because they look like they are wearing something related to a turban.

4 MMs, 3 FFs and 7 MFs.

We really didn't need 7 MFs

8 MFs possibly.  I think team 5 is MF. I think they are muslims because the lady looks like she is wearing hijab in that photo.

I counted Team 5 as MF - probably Dwesmond racing with his mom. That's my guess.

Who the 4th MM team is then?

I am aware only of 3MMs - beards, white shirts models from promo and cowboys.

I counted wrong LOL

You are right. 8 MFS, 3 FF and 3 MM

BTW: Malaan and Tina seem to be out because they are active on IG after a month of inactivity.

Filming might not necessarily be over, just...check back in 2 weeks.

If Australia's Covid rules are anything like Canada's, they may have to self-isolate at some point for crossing certain state borders. They did mention in articles that this season may take a much longer than usual filming period.

They are for sure still filming. I thought it was over the other day because of Malaan being active.

Then, film crews were spotted in Tasmania. Most of our suspected racers are offline SM; it's just Malaan and Tina active atm for some reason.

It may not be a 12 leg race. I thought I heard rumors about Network 10 wanting to up the number of episodes this season :duno:

I think the theory that we have at least 14 teams is probably right.

Rewatching this video: https://twitter.com/coasterpaul/status/1314452027401859077

There's a weird gap in between the second to last team's box shown and the last (Salvage) team's box shown. The gap looks big enough to possibly fit about 2 boxes in between them.

Could it be possible that those gaps are just from two teams that had already shown up, and being in the lead, already completed the task by the time this was filmed? That's at least what I'm thinking.

(There's also potentially enough room for a 15th box at the very end of the table too... but maybe that's just purposely how they set it up.)

I really wonder what leg are we in right now... Did finale leg happen yet? Can team 1 be our finalists?

Guessing finale is next and they wrap up this weekend. Team 1 is in the endgame which is good for FF teams.

I am honestly sooo confused... Which leg are we in? This season is taking unusually long to film, isn't it?

So sort of like TAR China with no eliminated teams at the Finish Line perhaps?

Wouldn’t be surprised if The Amazing Race Australia follows the format of Australian Survivor (and every other Australian reality show) by having large casts, long episodes and multiple episodes per week. The cheaper local version is the perfect time to experiment with a 15-20 leg season with a large cast and more non eliminations.
