Previously, on The Amazing Race Australia!

As the final five hit Malawi, the gloves came off!

But in the race to mat, legend were forged and no team was left behind!

Tonight, as we reach the pointy end of the competition, the teams need to focus!

And in a shock exit, a contender will go home!

Our five remaining teams are still in Malawi, one of the smallest and poorest nations in the world!

We have departure times this time! All teams depart just before 6:00am!

ROUTE INFO: Paddle a dugout canoe around Leopard Bay and find an island where your next clue awaits!

The wind is getting strong and the waves are getting very big! Teams just sinking in their boats, because there's only one person per canoe!

SPEED BUMP: Viv & Joey need to empty the water out of their dugout canoes, before they can start to paddle!

Femi & Nick are just loosing EVERYTHING when their canoe capsizes! This team is just a wreck!

DETOUR: Dirty or Smelly?

Dirty: Wash 30 times of clothing in a tiny bucket of
Smelly: Carry a bucket of fish up into the table and sought into three different spices!

The fish are very sharp and the Footy Boys cut their hands on the fish's sharp claws!

Tim & Rod are 2nd at the Detour and choose to do Dirty, because they both HATE fish!

Femi & Nick are 3rd at the Detour and choose to complete Dirty!

Tom & Tyler only sought their fishes into 2 spices, ask for the judge and he denies them!

Jasmine & Jerome are 4th at the Detour, while Viv & Joey keep sinking!

Tom & Tyler ask for a second check and are rejected again! They keep cutting themselves on the sharp edges and ask themselves whether they chose the right Detour!

We are back!

Dirty seems to be the easier and quicker Detour, the Footy Boys made a big mistake here!

After the teams wash the clothes, they need to hang them out to dry on the lakebed, before they receive their next clue!

Viv & Joey arrive at the Detour in 4th and they choose Smelly!

Jasmine & Jerome are last at the Detour and they choose Dirty!

Tim & Rod are out of the Detour in First Place! They open the clue to find the Roadblock!

ROADBLOCK: Who never tyres out?
Teams need to go to a market and make something out of recyclable materials!

Tom & Tyler are out in second and Tyler does the Roadblock, annoying Tom!

Tom & Tyler give some advice on the three species to Viv & Joey! They believe that without the Boys's help, they would of been eliminated already!

Because the Siblings are very short they cannot reach the middle of the table to spread out the fish!

Femi & Nick are out Third! Nick does the Roadblock!

Teams need to make a pair of sandals for both team-mates (at the Roadblock)!

Jasmin & Jerome are out in 4th! Jerome does it! Viv & Joey are last again!

Viv & Joey get their clue in Last Place! Joey does the Roadblock!

All teams are now making their way to the Roadblock! Tim is doing the Roadblock and manages to cut his finger?

We are back!

Tim calls for the Medic, Medic gives him a BandAid and Tim gets right back to it!

All teams have now arrived at the Roadblock! Teams are now on top of each other, it's getting cramped and teams are getting ANGRY!

Tom lies to Femi that Tyler's Dad and Grandfather were shoemakers! Femi believes the lie!

Tim goes for a check and it's denied! The judge says the edges need to be smoother!

Tyler asked for a check and is denied!

Joey goes up for a check and is APPROVED! They leave in 1st!

ROUTE INFO: Make your way on foot to the Nsapato Section of the market and listen for the sound of your next clue! The message is 'Amazing Racers, make your way to Harry's Bar!'

The other teams are shocked that Viv & Joey are out in First!

Tom & Tyler leave in Second! Tim & Rod leave in Third!

Tim & Rod ask for a local interpretation and the woman says 'Come and buy nice dresses here'

Tim & Rod manage to interpret the clue and find out that Harry's Bar is their next location!

Jasmin states how she isn't allowed to give advice, she can only shout encouragement! Is this the same in the US Version?

Jerome gets approved! They're off in 4th and Femi & Nick are in last once again!

Nick gets his sandals disapproved and Femi is getting a little annoyed at him!

On the third attempt, he passes! Femi & Nick are leaving in Last and they need to hustle!

Tom & Tyler are first at Harry's Bar!

ROUTE INFO: Take part in a 2 minute quiz, about their fellow races! If they're wrong, they will serve 1 minute penalty per wrong answer

Tom & Tyler got 8 wrong, so will serve a 8 minute penalty at the Pit Stop!

ROUTE INFO: Learn an African song in Malawian language! When they manage to sing it all correctly, they'll receive their next clue!

Jasmin & Jerome got 13 wrong, so they will serve a 13 minute penalty at the Pit Stop!

Tim & Rod got 9 wrong and they'll have serve a 9 minute penalty!

Jasmin & Jerome got 6 wrong and they'll have to serve a 6 minute penalty at the Pit Stop!

Tom & Tyler got their song on their first attempt and are off to the Pit Stop is First Place!

ROUTE INFO: Make your way to Kumbali Lodge and search the banana trees for Beau at your next Pit Stop!

Tom & Tyler are trying to get a taxi for 20 minutes and they are worried they they'll be overtaken!

We are then shown all remaining teams get their clues!

All teams are struggling to get more taxis! They state how they shouldn't of let them go when they got to the Bar!

We are back!

Jasmin & Jerome are the only team with a taxi!

Femi & Nick are the last team to complete the quiz! They get 2 wrong and they'll have to serve a 2 minute penalty at the Pit Stop!

Tom & Tyler's taxi is dodgy! There's horses in the trunk of the car and the exhaust has blown off!

It's a race for First Place between Viv & Joey and Tom & Tyler! Viv & Joey get there first and will need to serve a 13 minute penalty!

Tom & Tyler arrive at the Pit Stop second! They will only need to serve a 8 minute penalty!

Jasmin & Jerome have served their time and check-in in 2nd Place! Beau hugs them of course!

Viv & Joey serve their penalty and check-in as Team Number Three! A hug is delivered!

Tim & Rod manage to arrive in Fourth! However, they must serve a 9 minute penalty! Can Femi & Nick arrive in time?

Tim & Rod have survived their penalty! They are fourth team to check-in!

Femi & Nick have arrived at the Pit Stop in last place! They have been eliminated from the Race and their time on the Race is over!

Unpopular opinion sorry but I didn't enjoy the Malawi episodes that much unfortunately. Does anyone else think its weird to see such few teams racing in African legs - all the way down to F4? Typically they are mid-season.

Quite a lot of the tasks were make/build something and were a bit repetitive over two episodes. I think this is also heightened from the previous two legs being in somewhat similar southern African countries.

I am also seriously pissed off with the intervals that they are releasing the teams in - why the hell did they now decide to release teams two minutes apart and randomly show us the times this leg

This is pretty frustrating to me as it removes a core principle of the race being continuous over the twelve legs?? Not fair on both Jasmine/Jerome that were just seconds apart and Viv/Joey that appeared quite far behind on the NEL.

I understand that the producers don't want to repeat exact placements in consecutive legs (as this is anti-climatic/boring) but legs should be designed to counter this fact - this is particularly a problem in this season as there are so many double legs in countries

However, they could still use HOO, sign up boards, internal bus/train/flight travel to counter this.

On the other hand, its also extremely frustrating that we are not getting any flight drama whatsoever and that teams appear to be forced to travel together on the same flight by production. There has not been a single leg with multiple flight arrivals this season and I doubt that will happen next week.

Luckily, the teams have really been delivering this season and at least Tom/Tyler are pretty likable to overcome their 1st place dominance. I feel though that their dominance is in sometimes due to the poor leg designs in numerous legs however? Also special mentions to Tim/Rod for smashing the Leg 9 U-Turn and Viv/Joey during the Leg 10 Roadblock.

The production this season is letting it down for me, although I'm grateful TARAu is back on our screens and the teams are pretty amazing. Personally think the South Korea and Mongolia legs have been the best so far.

Looking forward to Thailand as I think it will deliver!
