The Amazing Race Australia
7:30PM - 8:30PM

The contestants find themselves battling as much with the heat as with each other. It's a mad dash to the end as the teams do all they can to avoid being eliminated from the race.

Previously, on The Amazing Race Australia!

The teams hit Hanoi, for the toughest challenges yet!

Tom & Tyler might of won the day, but a true grit by a mum & daughter won our hearts and won them a reprieve!

Tonight, as the teams head into the hills of Northern Vietnam, the temperature rises and one team explodes!

But, in the competition's biggest twist, one team will give everything to survive!

For the fourth leg of the Race, we are in Ninh Binh, Vietnam, 100km from busy Hanoi!

Tom & Tyler depart first!

ROUTE INFO: Make your way to the Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel and make 4 bundles of some type of sticks and deliver them to another temple to receive your next clue!

Viv & Joey are Vietnamese and Tim & Rod need to make sure that they target Joey on this leg!

Teams have 1.25 million Vietnamese Dong for this leg of the Race!  :funny:

Rowah & Amani were saved by an NEL last leg and now need to complete a Speed Bump this leg!

All teams have now arrived at the Citadel and they are struggling to find the task location!  :funny:

The GPS is shouting at Viv & Joey's Taxi Driver in Vietnamese and they are STILL LOST!  :groan:

Hayley & Mikayla are the first at the task location! They need to make 4 bundles of 2kg each of incense and then deliver them to another temple!

They need to make their sticks from a MASSIVE pile of incense!

Tim & Rod and Femi & Nick arrive! Finally, Footy Boys arrive!

Rowah & Amani find their Speed Bump!

SPEED BUMP: Prepare FIVE bundles of incense, instead of FOUR!

Viv & Joey finally arrive and are currently in Last Place! However, they have caught up to all the other teams!

Chris & Adrienne argue with each other and head off to check their incense checked! They have them around the wrong way and are denied!

Their bundles need to be between 1.9kg and 2.1kg

Tim & Rod get approved and are in First Place!

FAST FORWARD: Complete the TAR3 and TAR29 Basket Bikes task!

Tim & Rod go for the Fast Forward!

Tim & Rod decide to abandon the Fast Forward and decide to the slits Detour.

The Long Strides Detour is very hard and all participants are falling over!  :funny:

Tim & Rod decide to switch Detours! (Bald-Snarking!)

Both Detours are actually hard and as a result, all contestants are struggling!

7 teams doing the Mask Detour and 2 teams doing the Strides Detour!

Mikayla fell off her stilt ONE centimeter before the White Finish Line! :(

All teams at the Mask Detour and struggling in the heat and sweat is dripping into their eyes!  :funny:

Tyler falls from his stilt and it looks like he won't be playing AFL any time soon!  :funny:

ROUTE INFO: Make your way to Bai Dinh Temple and search among 500 Buddhist statues to find one statue with both feet resting on animals. Once there, climb up the Bell Tower and bring the bell to receive your next clue!

Rowah & Amani are in Last Place at the Detour and decide to do the Mask Planting Detour!

Femi & Nick try their masks with the judge and is denied!

Sid & Ash manage to get these correct and they're in 2nd Place!

Hayley misses the Line by ONE centimeter AGAIN!  :'(

The clue states that you're not allow to run or swear on the temple grounds!  :funny:

Tom spends too much time praying and Tyler reminds him that they're in a Race!  :funny:

The Sisters manage to get their clue and they leave in Third Place!

The Deadly Duo are worried that they need to get this Detour done fast, or they feel like they might be out of the Race!

'My body is starting to let me down' Jerome. Come on mate you play NTFL in Darwin during the Wet season, you'll be right!  :funny:

Jasmin & Jerome have decided to go to the mask painting Detour and see Tim & Rod there! In the end, the Deadly Duo decide to go to the Fast Forward because if they win it, they will get to go straight to the Pit Stop!

Sid & Ash manage to find the correct statue and are now off to the Bell Tower, but the Vietnamese pedicab driver doesn't understand English!  :funny:

Tom & Tyler also manage to find the correct statue and UNLIKE Sid & Ash, write down the name of the statue!

Sid & Ash arrive at the Bell Tower and can't find the way to go up!

The leg was pretty good. Both legs in Vietnam have been tough with this leg more so. The competition also felt tighter in this leg compared to the previous ones, and the toughness of the leg brought out more drama in the teams especially with Chris & Adrienne. The Speed Bump was more like the Handicap, so that was fine. It was great to see that the Fast Forward was actually a risk instead of just a reward for the team that happened to be in the lead. The series is building momentum, so I hope it continues in the next destination.
