D/I let their taxi go and are trying to steal a taxi.
Sarah is really afraid to be cold, they are in first at route info, M/M right behind them, with A/t in 3rd and J/A in fourth

I/D are stealing the Mom's taxi, but the Moms find one right away. Sisters still in last place.

Route info: Gone Ice fishin
Teams must drill a hole in 3feet of ice, clear the hole, and put a fishing line.

The first four teams are doing the tasks at the same time.
James/Anthony are happy because they know how to do it.

Moms passed D/I on the way to the task. Karma

T/A ask for a check, but the judge says no, because he can't see the hole properly.
S/S gets the clue in first, followed by Marie/Meghan

Roadblock: Racers will have to go to NWT diamond center, they will have to look at 7 diamond, and identifies which 6 out of 7 have a maple leaf sign on it, and see the identification number, and 3rd part, place them from lightest to heaviest.

S/S and M/M are gone first. J/A done in 3rd.
Sisters finally at the first clue.

D/I: Irina is not doing anything, but they are done in 4. (because of Dave) A/T done in 5th.
Sisters finally at route info, only moms are only there.

Moms are done 6th!

D/I stole A/T's taxi..., and the Moms passed A/T

Marie, Sam and James are doing the roadblock.
Dave is there and doing the roadblock

A/T finally have a cab, they are mad at D/I and Aarthy wants them out of the race. They bicker a bit

L/J are still at the ice fishing task... and they are good, but their Taxi is gone... Not their leg today
They are crying

So the first 5 teams are doing the roadblock, and the last 2 are on their way

Dave is doing good again.. (he is really pulling the team ahead)

Moms and A/T are talking about taxi stealing
Sam is wrong on his first try
Marie can't find the symbol...

Dave finishes in first place!
Proceed to great slave lake to find your next clue.
L/J are there, while everybody is still there except D/I

James is wrong!
Sam is frustrated... but he is done in second!

Roadblock #2, the person who didn't do the first roadblock must do this one:
Go underwater under 3 feet of ice.

D/I are using their express pass! No way she was going to do that.. she is fragile lol
They must now go to  air Tindi Float base.

A/T done in 3rd place!
L/J are done in 4th!! Nice comeback

Sarah must do the roadblock and she is very afraid. (Current temperature -22)
Sarah is crying and Sam is encouraging her, and she is done!

D/I arrive at Air Tindi, they must choose a station, and identify 10 different sites only with latitude and longitude.

Playing the "Cabotage" game from Season 3 again, are we? Man, Dave & Irina will stop at nothing.

James is still wrong on his task, Anthony asks him if he wants to use the EP, but James doesn't want to use the express task.
Marie is right, she is in 5th! Sad because they were first at the task.

Moms and James/Anthony still there.

Aarthy in the cab: if this is another roadblock I will cry (bingo lol)
Aarthy is not happy about doing this roadblock. It's her worst fear (Why am I always getting the hard one hahaha)
She is very stressed and missed her first attempt (the preview they showed us)

We are back with Aarthy, she doesn't want to use the EP.
She needs to lower herself more.... and she does! They are done in 3rd
She is soo proud.. Thinesh is cute with her

S/S are no t good with map, so they ask people to check on their phones before getting to the task. Very smart

D/I are struggling... they want to take a penalty... 2h because they don't know how to do it.

They must fly to Dettah, across the frozen lake to find the pitstop!

Back the first roadblock:
James is wrong on his 13th attemps
Mom are done, and J/A are using their EP, both are last

Joanne doing the second roadblock, done on her first try. They are in 4.

One of the twins is a geography teacher, so they are doing good also!

S/S are going back to find someone with a phone to help lol

T/A in sixth place, and A/J to the water challenge.
Amy done in 6th, Anthony also done on his first try. They are last, but the mom's cab left 
Poor moms, they are really unlucky with cabs this leg... They are in the middle of nowhere with no cabs.

Moms are walking on the road, but they won't quick.
S/S stumble at a geography lab, so they are having help with expert.

A/J arrive at the map challenge in 6th, everybody still there except D/I who are waiting their penalty.
A/T are done! Going to the pitstop
M/M are done in third!

Moms arrive at the challenge, they know how to do this.

A/T are first!! They won a trip to Dublin, Ireland!

S/S are done in fourth. but they own 245 to their taxi, they only have 145$ :/
If they can't pay their cab, they can't leave... Awkward

This was a great leg!!!
Lots if tasks where the order could switch, taxi drama, the first roadblock was hard, the second wasn't but it was more of a mental challenge.

The challenge just before the plane to the pitstop was great too.
These teams are very competitive,  I love the cast

Hmm, next week...I've carried a sense of dread for that leg since it was filmed (third leg in the same province), but I dunno. The tasks don't sound that bad.

You are welcome. And I agree with you, but out of the 3 BC legs, I like that they are going to Nanaimo, it's either leg 1 or 2 that was too much I think.
I always imagine that when they would go to Nanaimo, that they would have to drive to a bakery, and that the clue would just be a Nanaimo bar, and that they had to figure out that meant Nanaimo, BC.
I wonder if they will do that

I just finished watching this episode!

Yellowknife looked COLD! I for sure wouldn't want to race in -20+ degrees!

I surprised by Dave & Irina taking the penalty! I didn't think they would be the type of team to quit that easy! I'm glad that their penalty wasn't the kiss of death, because I actually quite like the so-called 'villains'!

Looking forward to next week; TAR Canada has surprised me this season!

The most interesting part was the whole drama around the map reading, having it out in the cold was a great idea, if you didn't know immediately how to do it then it was a tough part of the race.  I don't think Dave and Irina needed to use the express pass before she had even given it a go, though after that taking the penalty was probably a reasonable tactic with their lead and it only being 2 hours penalised.  I remember someone saying somewhere that this version loves express passes as it cuts down on all the penalties taken.  Though it was built up as being very difficult I suspect once you are very briefly under the ice your body will tell you to continue the extra feet to get the clue.

Dawson City, Yukon last season. It's just slightly further north by longitude than Iqaluit, Nunavut in Season 1.

No, she told her partner to hurry because James/Anthony are going to use their EP (she was guessing but she was right). As soon as the moms got their clue, J/A used their EP

Oh maybe that was it! They did show a scene of Amy behind Anthony when she sees he has an EP!
This leg was like leg 3 last season, almost no more EP. Good thing Aarthy and Tinish kept theirs.

Loved how challenging this leg was, with tasks that challenged racers physically and mentally.
Considering how self-driving heavy this season have been, I 'm a bit surprised that they decided to make this a heavy Taxi based leg, in a place where it seems that they are hard to come by. Wonder if it's a safety related issue. But keeping a taxi for the entire leg was definitely not cheap.

So, it has taken seven seasons to have a full leg in NWT. It has also been six seasons since the last leg to focus on cold weather tasks. Thankfully, the wait was well worth it because this leg was phenomenal. This leg was packed with exciting moments, tough challenges, taxi drama, Express Pass drama, money problems, and a penalty. It's ironic that this episode saw the return of cabatoge right after teams left Edmonton. While the show does a great job focusing on self-driving, it was great to see taxi drama due to the lower number of available cabs. Also, this is the third season in a row in which multiple Express Passes were used in one leg. I can completely understand why Anthony & James used theirs, but it's still crazy that Dave & Irina decided to use theirs on a task they didn't even attempt. The decision did lead to some fun drama later in the leg. I could nitpick considering the second Roadblock couldn't lead to any placement shifts and it was pretty apparent that the leg would be an NEL even before it aired, but I can look past those because this leg was pretty entertaining and one of the better domestic legs in recent memory.

This leg was the best unintentional PR for geologists. 

Ice Fishing: The task was a pretty typical cold climate task, but it did lead to some fun moments.
Diamonds: It's not surprising to see a diamond task while in Yellowknife, but this was a tough task. It wasn't straightforward and the multiple facets of the task led to quite a few trip ups.
Ice Swim: The task was straightforward and it was something already done on TAR 4. This isn't even the first cold water task to appear on TARC. At the same time, this task led to some tense moments with racers overcoming fears, and it led to Dave & Irina burning their Express Pass because Irina didn't want to be cold.
Maps: It's such a simple task, but it's crazy that so many teams struggled to the point where we saw a penalty though the fact that it was in -21 degree weather probably didn't help teams' minds.

Ok.  Well she seemed within earshot of the last place team as well, so I'm sure they'd take her words as a useful reminder.    I'm not that big a fan of James/Anthony anyway, I thought their wearing of the skirts in the other leg was very gimmicky, and they are all racing for themselves ultimately and not give any particularly messages.
