They could have also possibly had a second leg in Japan which would make sense for the lack of sightings since Japan is known for being hard to spot, and then be using Hanoi as a transfer. Two transfers that made the most logical sense to me looking at flights is
Vietnam Airlines flight 311 departing Tokyo Narita at 10am and getting into Hanoi at 1:30pm or ANA flight 857 departing Tokyo Haneda at 8:50am and getting into Hanoi at 12:25pm
This would match the sighting in the airport as it was more than twelve hours ago and it was light outside in the picture, and Leo was holding a Japanese water bottle that maybe he bought in Japan that morning
Now obviously where they could be going is wide open but connections that made sense to me because there is no direct option from Tokyo to these cities were
Vietnam Airlines flight 837 leaving Hanoi at 3:25pm and arriving in Siem Reap, Cambodia at 5:10pm or
Lao Airlines flight 312 leaving Hanoi at 4:40pm and arriving at Vientiane, Laos at 5:50pm
(there is also a flight from Hanoi direct to Siem Reap getting in at 7pm)
This could possibly set up an HOO which would again explain lack of sightings and them being released around right now. This is just pure speculation of course!
