For what it's worth CBS didn't do well this Sunday.

Only NCIS lightened up the night, and Madam Secretary and Elementary premiered to only a 1.1 and a 0.8 respectively in their final numbers. That is about our average for TAR28 on FRIDAYS.

I'm not insinuating anything but it honestly could be a good move for CBS to place us back to our timeslot in the Sunday era post-60 minutes and lead-in to NCIS Los Angeles. NCIS is one of the steadiest shows on American TV.

Would they really film 2 seasons and shelf them?

I believe Andy is mistaken about this-- in a few ways.

We WILL see TAR 29, the question is when.

I do not believe they are casting for 30 at this time.

I do believe we WILL get a 30, the question is when.

TAR may well go to a once a year show, but it is NOT cancelled so far.

If 29 does well then it might be a possibility. TAR6 aired in November 2004 and ended in February, TAR7 aired in March 2005, and TAR8 aired in September.

It really will be dependent on how well 29 does. If we do get 29 on 2017, I believe it's either getting a test-run in summer for 30 or simply back to Fall for 30.

We don't know. It WILL film, but I do not believe it will be in 2016. There are no signs for casting at all right now, DESPITE that old update.

The first thing we need is a date for 29. My guess is that will be next Jan/Feb.  It will be ready to go soon (or is already) so not ruling out a very late fall Premiere...but as we lose time and there is no obvious slot for us, it looks to me that 2017 is more likely. They are going to want this to do well, so we WANT them to find us a good spot.

WHEN 30 will film MIGHT have something to do with when 29 starts...so I think it is up in the air right now.  I expect them to have a route worked out. Casting could happen quickly IF they use previous casting finalists or previous racers. But right now there is NO EVIDENCE for any casting or filming, in fact we have evidence suggesting it will not happen anytime soon.

I personally think TAR will continue as a once a year show after 30. But we don't know.

What we need is for 29 to be a big success, so will be asking all of you to support it as best you can. We know from spoilers this should be a really good one, so FINGERS CROSSED!

This is a weird statement. Why do you suggest that there's no evidence of casting when they're holding calls?

In regard to S30, I'm thinking that they might want to see the response to S29's twist and then judge their next moves based on that.
I personally have a gut feeling that the general public will not be pleased with strangers being paired up instead of teams with pre-existing relationships, so if there's a big backlash, they might want to go back to the old formula for S30.

FWIW, there was a casting held in late July on TX..

This is not a casting call thread, let's stop please. These CASTING calls have ZERO to do with when we see 29 or 30 for that matter.

I know you all don't want to hear so will stop after this. Not all casting calls are official CBS sponsored ones. Some are done for publicity, do not have CBS reps there. Compilations ARE sent to CBS...but there has to be an active casting team ready to review them. See?

So let's all go back to 29 topic please?  Casting calls are NOT relevant. Thanks!

I know this is going to get a definite "no" answer, but let's at least hear this: Chances of 29 being shelved completely?

EDIT: There have been shows that were filmed in its entirety, but for one reason or another, the series never aired.
