This is where ALL the spoiler speculation/discussion of the TARA 5 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.
 
 
 
As always, per RFF's practices, we do not spoil the start location (iunless officially revealed) until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may also occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand , we would love to know, so please PM or email me! Spoilers are treasured!

Ok, so Jakarta is over for Starting line and Leg 1 apparently,
Let's wrap'em up a little :

Starting Line :
Possibly Sunda Kelapa harbour

Task :
1. Kota tua (assembling bicycle)
2. Monas / National monument (ride the bike through a certain course) or could be rode the bike that they were assembling previously,
3. If we still speculating on Alan's pit stop finding, we might have a basement of historical museum (which tends to be famous because it's horror story)

So far that might be all for now, will look forward for some more findings..

TAR Indo teams are preparing for a possible Leg 2 in Bandung, we are still calculating the route for Bandung's leg..

Could the starting line actually be the Monas/National Monument

In this pic I see a potential start to the backpacks being lined up.

And take a close look at the bike shop pics, they are in a very wooded area, maybe that will help with where they rode?

That Wu shot looks like a parking deck or basement to me, but he has to be looking up at something!

was wondering why there is no spoilers from Singapore, i guess everyone is hooked with their mobile phones/Pokemon Go, sighs.

I wish the leg for Singapore is not on leg 3.

We think the route has been changed, not that they have been already.

Looks like it. They've already been to Kuala Lumpur a couple days ago, but it couldn't be leg 4 already.

Oh yes it could. We have 2 Indonesian legs and 2 (or 1+ KOR) legs in Malaysia already.

Singapore could be next up or rescheduled for later.

Clearly the early published route is inaccurate.

Welp...
Late last night I found a video but it has since been taken down or made private.
It was a short video of Alex and Will in the Quan Bui restaurant.
Towards the end of the video I saw another team (Rei/Kenji?) that had a pale female and a male with glasses. They looked like they were hating life.
Also note, in the restaurant there were about 6 tables. 4 were unoccupied and there was a plate of food  on each that was covered in brown woven plate cover.

Interesting, this Toronto-based travel agency specializing in the Philippines posted yesterday about teams arriving in Manila today, the 17th.

Allan mentions today (August 17th) is Day 11. Would Manila be Leg 6 or 7?

Well, assuming they still do 10 legs, they have 9 legs to eliminate 8 teams.
So If this is leg 6, the first 5 legs are elim.
So If this is leg 7, one of the first 5 legs is a non-elim with the rest being elims.

Heres the route I have so far:
1 Indo
2 Indo
3 Malay (Kuala Lumpar)
4 Malay (Penang)
5 Thai
6 Viet- Alex/Will elim
7 Ph
3/4 may be 1 leg but we don't know.

And at the moment, they have boarded a bus going to Ilocos (Ilocos Sur probably because the niece is going to Vigan). A niece of my friend just mentioned that she is with the team in a bus which is now on its way to the northern part of the country. If they are going to Vigan or Laoag, they will arrive in the morning anytime from 6am-9am

But now that's got me thinking. Maybe Allan's Instagram video (https://www.instagram.com/p/BJMyyBGA9M9/) isn't Intramuros, but actually of him in Vigan, Ilocos Sur which is also known for its cobblestones and horses?

At first, I wondered if this could be another TBC/KOR Leg?
One "Leg" in Manila and another full Leg up north?  But then seeing that maybe Allan wasn't in Intramuros but maybe Vigan, Ilocos Sur instead, maybe they only had those 2 Route Markers in Manila with the Detour and RB still to come up north.

Do we know what they were doing exactly?

The pics constitution posted are from the national HQ of the Emergency Response Unit of the Philippine Red Cross.

So I am going to assume that the stuff they bought in Quiapo were some relief goods/supplies and the pics show the teams delivered the Grab-sponsored box of goods (using a Grab car of course) to the Red Cross HQ. 

Most likely, a good, simple sponsored task in Manila for logistics to get the teams on the overnight bus so they can start the bulk of the Leg in Ilocos in the morning.
