Okay, then maybe I missed the part where Phil said all teams have to turn all the money to the charity then it faired. I thought team can decide whether teams can give money to the charity or not. And if some teams just want to save their money for future leg and decide to not give it or just give 1$ or something. I'm pretty sure the casual fans will go like 'This teams is so cruel!' while all they do is just being strategic.

It was a curious bit of editing. You can hear Diana say "...make a donation," but they edited out the first part of her voice-over reading, which you can see on the card: It's customary to make a donation when you visit...  I'm sure they all donated; who wants to go on national tv and say "Sorry kid, no school clothes for you."
