Topic: The Amazing Race Canada 4 Speculation

So I may or may not have the authority to create a new thread, but I'm running with it (sorry Peach).

So whenever season 4 starts, I have several predictions to make:

Since the last three seasons have had different numbers of teams (9, 11, & 12, respectively), I think they will go down to 10 teams just to have an equal spread over the seasons. I believe they will have 11 legs with three NELS/KORS. Also, there are still many unvisited places in Canada for them to visit.

Now I know wishlists are usually prohibited on specs, but hey, what the heck.

Starting Line: Toronto, Ontario
Leg 1: Sarnia, Ontario
Leg 2: Copenhagen, Denmark
Leg 3: Copenhagen & Roskilde, Denmark
Leg 4: Fredericton, New Brunswick
Leg 5: Deer Lake & Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland and Labrador
Leg 6: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador
Leg 7: London, England, UK
Leg 8: Fort McMurray, Alberta

I highly doubt they'll ever visit Fort McMurray, almost certainly that would bring the anti-oil environmental movements out of the woodwork.

Currently, Air Canada has nothing direct on the whole continent on Africa, but that's changing next year Just the other day, they announced a new direct flight to Casablanca, Morocco out of Montreal.

In time for filming? No idea, but it'd be nice to see Canada go to Africa.

Air Canada is starting to fly to Dubai later this year. It seems to be a rule that all Amazing Race versions eventually head to Dubai. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were to head there.

I could also see two of Amsterdam, Brussels and Frankfurt as these 3 cities are short trips by rail.

This may be old news, but I saw a news story from yesterday that said TAR Canada had been officially renewed for a 4th season. I'm not familiar with the site and I don't know how reliable it is. It's certainly not very surprising news.

With Air Canada still one of he main sponsors, an all international route seemed extremely unlikely. I expect the best we can hope for is 3 seperate international sections.

I say half of the race will be Canada-bound, while the other half will be in international routes as well (Italy, Japan and Thailand).

If so, the production for season 4 hasn't yet to be started. I think the race will cross through Olympic Games (Summer and Winter) hosting cities (Montreal, Rome, Athens, Moscow, Helsinki, Mexico City, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Calgary).

For what its worth - filming for previous seasons started after Passover which starts (this year) on April 23rd and continues to April 30.

Or - it may start tomorrow for all I know.

Can we speculate on the destinations in this place? (No wishlist)

As for Canadian Destinations, I think we have been to every big cities now...

Big chances:
- Fredericton, NB: Maybe the only 'big' (not really big) city left
- Yellowknife, NWT: They skip the north in season 3, so I think they may come back now, and still no pitstop in NWT
- London/Hamilton, On: One of the big cities close to Toronto...
- Somewhere in rural Quebec: Maybe Abitibi, or Saguenay!
- Calgary, still no pitstop there
-Somewhere in Newfoundland, they only been there once!

Some chances:
- Saint-John, NB
-Churchill, MB
-Another full Vancouver leg

Starting line:
All of the starting lines have been major Canadian landmarks (Niagara Falls, Jasper Park/glacier, Chateau Frontenac), so... Lake Louise/CN Tower / Parlement Hill / West Edmonton Mall


Finish Line:
Two of the 3 biggest cities, + our capital...
Maybe we are due for a Montréal Finish line, given that we only had one leg in 3 seasons there! (and it didn't really showcase the city)

International:
- UK (anywhere, we could have a good 2 legs)
- Cuba
- Netherlands
- USA
- Australia

I.think Yellowknife was just the starting line, there was a brief stopover in edmonton, and it seems like they are doing a full leg in Jasper.
