All the pictures I've been seeing seem to have 10 teams or fewer...
But I think that's just due to the angle, might have to wait until the teams are actually lined up before making that judgment. A team is probably hidden from view in these pictures, and most likely there will be 11 teams :P

EDIT: I think there might be singles in there, I forgot about that :lol:

Now that Rio has been revealed as the 1st destination, is it possible for it to be an Olympic themed leg?

Also, I think 1 team on the 1st flight is scary, VERY scary. If that flight gets delayed for a long time, that team who finished 1st gets booted out in such an unlucky way. :funny:

Bike race at the start, winning team gets on the first flight.  The rest of the teams are on a second flight 30 minutes later.

Yeah, that happened on Qantas a few years ago when 8 teams were on the flight, a man suffered a heart attack (non-fatal thankfully), and they were forced to divert to Honolulu and refuel. They landed 30 minutes after the 2nd plane. The 2nd plane essentially became the first plane!

Now that we know Leg 1's in Rio de Janairo, I'm gonna speculate that the route would probably go like this:
Leg 1: Rio
Leg 2: Rio or somewhere in Brazil?
Leg 3: Europe?
Leg 4: Europe?
Leg 5: Europe? Africa?
Leg 6: Europe? Africa?
Leg 7: Europe?
Leg 8: Asia? India?
Leg 9: Asia?
Leg 10: Asia? China?
Leg 11: Asia?
Leg 12: USA

I'm gonna speculate that they might have taken off Australia, but we'll just have to wait and see.
