And even if is a SLT, you still need two of them for each team.

It could be useful if we knew where they are parked. If they are next to the beach, then they could hint a starting line task. If elsewhere, then they could be the introduction transports.

It looks like they can put a platform for someone to stand on to the side of the person pedaling.
Maybe from the Marina to where the tickets are hanging on the grafitti wall on Venice Beach.

"Can we make a "moan and groan" thread pre-race? Because I'd like to say this... Another CA start. Ugh."

At this stage of the race's life, it's clear the budget is shrinking each year.  Having a start outside of SoCal is a significant budget investment, enough so that the only 2 times they've done that in the last 15 seasons, they've compensated for it by finishing in LA instead.  Personally, I'm ok with SoCal starts if it means we can get a higher quality race overall (and I don't care to see LA as a finale city again).

For those of you trying to sort out what time 8:00 am PDT is in your time zone, use this site:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

It automatically adjusts for places on DST, so there's little chance for error.

There's a laundry list of cities elsewhere besides LA (and its various neighbors) that can host an open - especially on the west coast. Moving it up or down the California coast next season shouldn't be a problem.
I thought that when we fought, I was to blame
Now I know you play a different game
I've seen you dance with danger; still wanting more

Somewhat off-topic, and sorry if I'm making this active, but isn't this thread usually locked once the race starts? ???
