I hope they don't, but I wouldn't be surprised with an F4 leg in South Korea, Japan or Taiwan.

I think that the route will go Africa-South America-Central America (or maybe North America)-NZ then finish in Australia

I agree. After Africa they'll probably go up to Europe for a single leg, then on to South America for two legs in the same spot, then probably up to North America for two more, and the penultimate leg being in East Asia with a final in New Zealand

I would really love 3 or more legs in the Americas - TARAus hasn't produced anything memorable in Europe to this point, so if they go to Europe, I hope they can come up with something better.
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

I could see a Double Namibia>Germany>Iberia> x2 South America>x1 Central America>x1 North America situation occurring, with one extra variable leg.

If the sighting from the Philadelphia airport I just posted a while ago is correct (and that seems a BIG IF), then it implies a few things. First of all, TAR Aus 3 probably isn't going to Europe or if they did, it was just for one leg (doubtful). There was time for one leg since they were spotted in Namibia. There are a few possibilities. One, it could be they had another leg in Namibia, somewhere they had to fly to, probably the Skeleton Coast. Second, they could have had a leg elsewhere in Africa. Third, as I mentioned, they could have had one leg in Europe, probably in a major transportation hub - Paris, London, Frankfurt? Finally, since they were seen at the Philadelphia airport and presumably waiting for a flight, they could have had a leg in Philadelphia a couple of days ago. I think we would have seen some sightings from that though, even if they were having a snowstorm. I checked and if they were coming from Namibia to Philadelphia on the fastest flight combination for a Sunday evening/Monday morning, they would have switched planes in, wait for it, Peach, Atlanta.  :groan:

Overall, the timing of this sighting doesn't seem right to me. It's too soon.

I found a tweet that may be a sighting of TAR Australia or may be a sighting of a team from TAR 24.

Just met people competing in the amazing race while waiting for our flight...how cool is that?!
12:47 PM Pacific Daylight Time - 17 Mar 2014

From what I can gather, she's trying to fly from Philadelphia to North Carolina but is having troubles with the snowstorm cancelling flights. I'd be surprised if TAR Australia is in the USA already but I suppose they could have done a quick leg in Europe after leaving Namibia and then heading here. I'm also not sure what foreign destinations would fly into Philadelphia en route to somewhere else. Perhaps one of our air travel gurus would know.

I've asked her for more details. I think it's likely she ran into one of the TAR 24 teams.

Bur TAR 24 finished filming months ago.

Meaning that she ran into one of the teams who were traveling on their own but not racing.

(I don't know if this is the right place to post a clarification on a live sighting)

I haven't heard back from the woman who saw "people competing in the amazing race" at the Philadelphia airport, but now I believe that she probably did see TAR Australia. Why? More sightings yesterday, from Las Vegas!

janice huang ‏@janicehuang7 15h
the amazing race (orange team) just came by our boutique and asked where is liberace's car lol and then ran off
2:55 PM Pacific Daylight Time - 18 Mar 2014 from Paradise, NV

Makenna ‏@makennananana 15h
Just saw people from the Amazing Race!
3:20 PM Pacific Daylight Time - 18 Mar 2014 from Paradise, NV

I figured that they were looking for the Liberace museum. However, Wikipedia says the Liberace museum closed in 2010. It is in Paradise, NV where the tweets came from.

Update:

I found that one of Liberace's cars is on display at the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. I don't
know where they were seen but Paradise is a couple of miles (or more) away on the east side of the airport.

The Las Vegas Strip is actually in Paradise, NV and not Las Vegas, NV. It sounds weird but it's true. The Cosmopolitan is one of the newer and fancier hotels on the Strip. The Tweeters were most likely on the Strip.

cosmopolitan casino is correct for the car, at least as of two days ago.

Posted on the live spotting thread
The Start Line for ARAus3 was Ayres Rock/Uluru. Started there last week!
Awesome start line

No wonder why we missed it.

if Ayers Rock, Cambodia, Thailand, Namibia, Russia and Vegas are all true, then this is shaping up to be a really good season  :hearts:

Agree with you about the first four locations. However, the whole Russia/Ukraine thing makes me doubt that they're going to Russia.
As for Las Vegas, TAR Israel 3 went there and TAR24's final leg is there, so Vegas isn't THAT interesting IMO

I like this route! I wonder if they had a double leg in the states.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. The French and Israeli editions both did (French went did a leg in each Hawaii and LA, while Israeli did 2 or 3 legs around Vegas and the desert) and as long as they are good legs there is nothing wrong with it .

So I just realized that this season has visited 5 continents so far from what we know (Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America)
IF they go to somewhere in South America then TARAus will be the first international version to visit 6 continents in a race and the first since (arguably TAR11) TAR5.

With South America the only continent that didn't get visited during the first 2 seasons and the fact that we have the World Cup and Olympics in Brazil in the next few years, it is likely that they will have a leg or two in South America.

Even if this isn't true (but more so if it is) I am amazed with the money that 7 put in to TARAu3 (if only CBS could do the same for TARUS *Hint**Hint*)

I'm incredibly impressed as well with the route that we have so far. I've heard Portugal on the locations thread so that would be a cool location to see. 6 continents is and would be a huge feat for an international version.

I'm really loving the route that we know of to be honest hoping that the cast is just as good and we possibily get a new country for the franchise  :wohoo:
