Confusing American Idol (Top 10 Girls)
« on: February 19, 2014, 04:45:30 AM »
There are too many eliminated Idol hopefuls whose shattered dreams are not properly accounted for this season. Therefore, until Idol rectifies it, I'm going to continue using this thread to post videos. How can Jillian get cut and we not know the full story? WHAT? You mean after showing a Top 30 to us, it's in fact only a Top 20?

Then, what's the freaking point!!!!!! :groan:

According to Jennifer, Jessica Meuse was someone who "fought to be in The Top 10." With her performance of "Drink A Beer," by Luke Bryan, Jessica is hoping to prove she still has a lot of fight left in her!

She nearly didn't make the Top 15 girls, and now she's in the Top 10 girls...? Looks like Idol seems to want to milk the worth out of her. I just want to say, she's got the X Factor, but she doesn't have the best voice. She needs to start writing and singing her own songs.

Stepping up to the stage, MK Nobilette performs "All Of Me" by John Legend. With the tension at an all-time high, would MK's performance set her apart from the pack?

This was a very good song choice, but same with Jessica.. she has the X Factor, she has the likability factor and her voice sends chills down my spine.

I actually wanted to listen to the song again after the song ended. That's how good she is. NOT THE BEST VOICE, but sometimes, singing is not just having a perfect voice, right?

Kristen O' Connor knew she had the stage presence to perform "Turning Tables" by Adele. Would the judges still think she had what it takes to be the next American Idol?

Oh dear.. why did she have to choose such a song to sing? Nobody does Adele unless you are Candice Glover!

She has a good song and voice but I wasn't even feeling the song. Sigh.

Performing "Paris (Ooh La La)" by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Emily Piriz wanted a performance that stood out from the other contestants. Was Emily's mission a success?

why. oh gawd why. The contestants need a song choice crash course. She has shown so much potential and then she decided to burn it?

Describing her style as a mix of Sly Stone and Beyoncé dubbed "Slyoncé," Malaya Watson looked to bring something new to the Idol competition. Take a look at her performance of "Hard Times' by Ray Charles.

This girl can sing... but MK changed the way I view singing competition anymore. It's not about singing.. it's about feeling the song. Last season Angie did it for me, this season.. it's MK who first tug a chord.

THE JUDGES LET KENZIE HALL OUT AND JILLIAN OUT FOR HER?

OH MY GOD. AMERICAN IDOL JUST WENT DOWNHILL IN ONE WEEK. EVERYTHING WENT WRONG AFTER THE TOP 30. :groan: :groan: :groan:

No? Last season girls were so good. The Top 10 guys were generally spot on (even Lazaro! such a good tone but just bad song choices). The only thing that was bad last season was towards-the-end Nikki Manaj and Mariah as a whole. :funny:

Anyway, I gave up watching any of the other girls after ^.

I'm rooting for MK this season. That's all.

I haven't found a favorite yet a lot of distractions here last week and I need to review them all again. One thing I have noticed is how much alike some of the girls are in voice and presentation. (Verging on boring almost.) They are good singers, have stage presence but lacking that one thing that screams, I'm the best!

I will listen to MK for you Joab, to see how she performs.

Overall I am really enjoying the judge changes this year. I wasn't sure if they would be an improvement or a disaster. They are all great, and work together which is a nice change from last year. H. C. Jr is a super addition to the judging. He brings a certain maturity to the process but he's not mean and cutting.
The choices we make dictate the life we lead.

I think it's a guy's year to lose this year. They are all so good and strong?

MK isn't the best, but she's got something going on there. A story to tell, a song to sing. I'm pretty sure she won't win, but she will be successful in her own area. She gives me the Pink /  Christina Perri vibes.

I don't know why you would have a top 30, only to cut it to 20 without giving them a chance...? I haven't watched most of the performances and I don't plan to, but I think Majesty Rose is fantastic. I love her style and her voice draws me in.

Precisely. Why do a Top 30, then cut it down to Top 20 without letting the audience know what was the rationale behind their decision? I'm VERY WILLING to watch another round of ten perform on one more night and WON'T be complaining. And I'm sure many won't complain about the voting either (having to vote for another round of 10).

American Idol just killed a great season opening in 1 week. Kudos to them. Honestly, they need to have another component of using Youtube video likes and dislikes or views as a measure and gauge of the popularity of their contestants.

Briana Oakley sang "Warrior" by Demi Lovato on American Idol XIII 2014 Season 13.

It's very technical and I felt her only at some points of the song. But still, one of the better performers this season... but just so forgettable.

She's good. One of the better ones I like as well. Damn my luck, I clicked on random Youtube videos yesterday and did the more atrocious singers first.

Bria Anai Johnson sang "Wrong Side of a Love Song" on American Idol XIII 2014 Season 13.

I like the tone of her voice. I think she has a very commercial voice. Until she hit the high notes and then you realized she's not perfect with that... pitching issues.

SUCH A PERFORMER. Polaroid you are right. She knows who she is as a performer!

She can be a recording artist. That would be a record I want to be!

My Top 5 choice: Majesty Rose, MK, Jena, Kristen, Emily (yes, I still believe in her potential)

I think Majesty and MK is a shoo-in, the rest is really depending on who gets really lucky with the votes.
