Topic: Posting Your Age

We will be adding another rule when joining RFF. One that is very important for those of you who are under 18. Please do not post your age. It's not safe online to reveal your age.  There are just too many predators who look for young people, don't help them.  If you have posted your age and you are under 18, please go change it now. You can leave your birthday and use a different year, like 1900.

BTW, it's not a good idea to post your email address publicly either.

Good point!    Unless you are Dobby who has passed the century mark.

Just barely changed my age (I gave myself an obviously incorrect age, so I'm five!) I'm relatively sure there are no creeps around here, but given the conservative format on this site (not in the political sense), this is reasonable rule.

It's funny that this should come up. Even before you mentioned anything about it, I changed by birthday to November 8, 0006. So according to RFF, I'm 2006.

I didn't have to change my birthdate, but I decided to not let people e-mail me.

That was a good move on your part Mandoli. We try to keep spammers from registering on RFF but there is always the few who makes it through and we have found a few who try to harvest email addresses.
